Yes, has to be a whole number when past 2 I think someone said in the thread before. You can't find a sweet spot with Ludwig for the setups I've suggested, the characters I picked hit the whole number and the rest goes into overall speed where it's needed which makes them best for min-maxing the strategy.

Sounds like a routing issue, are you going through some kind of portblocked setup? Wireless, or ethernet?

Does anyone know how to share ghost data? My friend was trying to look at some of my time trials but couldn't find where to download them from.
I'm positive I uploaded a time trial for every track.

150cc is a steaming pile of T-Rex shit. At least for me. As it makes me want to throw controllers and scream obscenities at the heavens. But I refuse to try to unlock characters any other way, and so while everyone else on GAF has all the characters I only have unlocked three.

I swear I had zero interest in MKDS once the snaking started.
It just takes a bit after it hits 1000 to reset. Sometimes if you're lucky (or really good) and win a couple races after 1000 it will get stuck at 1050-60 and you'll be king of the GAF leaderboard for a good while.
I've been asking the same thing since MK7 and none of the elite players will tell me the truth. I can handle it, I swear!!!
Is there some method of recovering quickly from getting hit that I don't yet realize? I could swear the dude in front of me all last night on GAF kept recovering from my items so much faster than I ever could. Getting hit with something usually drops me 2-3 places minimum, unless I'm way out in front (which let's be honest, hardly ever happens).

CoD pits you against other "closed" router players, and because there are so many, it's rare you see it actually impact your matches. MK8, and Nintendo in general, doesn't make the distinction (a fault on their part), and tries to match people with blocked ports, with people who aren't blocked, and thus connection errors occur. Nintendo's gotten better at their online infrastructure, especially since Namco was brought in, but it's not "there" yet. Ironically, I had the same issue with 360 and PS3 as I did with the Wii, until I finally set up proper port forwarding for all three systems.
But make no mistake, Halo and CoD are top-tier when it comes to connection to matches through the worst kind of NAT - but they are exceptions, not the rule.

I wonder if Nintendo will bother to patch it. It sounds like something if they tried to fix it could break drifting though.
If we keep playing at this rate it will be a big problem. In the MK7 community we only played a few times a week towards the end and a 1000 point max worked fine since the elite guys usually hovered around 5-700 point a week.

It could be the new hop snaking or lag but MK7 didn't have real snaking and it seemed to happen with the really good players all the time. I'd PM them later asking how they recovered so quick and I always get a "I have no idea what you're talking about" response :/
I'm fairly sure that's managed directly from Nintendo's servers but I didn't set up the rules for the GAF tourney. If it is on the servers and Nintendo notices the problem they'll probably up it to 9999 like everything else.

Nobody said you need to purchase a new router. Are you in a position to add the Wii U's MAC address to your router's DMZ, if it has one?
Funny thing tho. Inward drift bikes can't do it at all. Exclusive to karts and certain bikes. It's not really all that good...honest! >.>

I don't believe you! I still haven't tried the TTs. Do the staff ghosts do it? If they do then it's an official tactic and won't get patched.
So I guess I don't get Mario kart. I cut every corner but it seems like no matter what I do, other players are just faster online.
Is snaking back in this game? I feel like I'm missing something ... is it better to wait for red boost or blue boost when drifting? Should I be trying to fit in multiple drift boosts in one turn, or just one boost?
I can't help the fact that sometimes I lose because it's really not clear why. And I don't think it's the items, because at least it's clear why I would have lost in cases of item use.

Sounds like they're not doing it then. Didn't someone say that the staff ghosts are the play testers this time around? That could explain why they're so easy. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Nintendo spot passes the real staff ghost later on sometime.
Bowser would still be faster.
