All I have to say to those new test center patch notes is WOOOOHOOOOOO! This in particular is what I've been waiting for forever.

Iron Man's Repulsor Barrage will now properly track moving targets when bound to a mouse button.

I can finally use that more now. I have both it and my missiles but due to the tracking bug it's pretty much useless hence I just spam my micro missiles more often.

got back from watching the wolverine and I really think gaz should have added hobo wolverine instead of ronin wolverine since the latter gets like 5 seconds of screen time

also hero sale going on right now

nope. i skipped most of the xmen since i dont like those guys

except wolverine he's ok

don't have capam, thing, thor, colossus, punisher, storm, torch, and dd. sw and hawkeye were my free heroes.
 
I posted this in the bug section of the MH forums...

I was playing MH all day today. In fact, I played enough to collect 54 splinters.

Normally, that would give me 15-ish artifacts from Midtown Manhattan bosses. Today I got ZERO to drop.

I didnt get any fortune cards, pets or costumes either (which isnt unusual for 10 hours of play), but to get zero artifact drops, when I would normally be in the teens with that figure, is very concerning. I feel this goes beyond bad luck and puts me in "bug territory".

I tried signing in and out, closing MH altogether, using different heroes etc, but to no avail.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Is there anything that can be done about it?

Has this happened to anyone here?

My last 3 artifacts were the same artifact drop, it looks like Iron Man's arc reactor, it has the same stats (I think), but it is called Thor's something or other.

I'm starting to think that yes, there is something wrong going on with the loot tables or there are maybe bugged items. Still haven't got a costume drop either, but I'm not in paranoid territory yet about that.
 
I must have killed 50-60 bosses today and to not get ANY artifacts at all from them, is more than bad luck IMO.
Normally I get at least one artifact an hour, the odd Fortune Card and maybe a pet.
I had a bug the other day with Ms Marvel. When I took her into MM, many of her powers (inc uppercut blast, knee lunge, the flying fist thing etc) all had 5 second cooldowns on them. It was really bizzare. Had to restart MH, to get rid of it.
Maybe/hopefully things will change, next time I play.

Here are a couple of changes we managed to get into the patch early this morning:

Jean Grey

Additional damage increased for Kinetic Wave and Psychokinetic Implosion.

Jean Grey has very strong damage increase in the big defense rework patch, but we wanted to get these out today for the weekend.

Black Widow

For performance reasons we are getting rid of massive numbers of Black Widow drones on that screen. We will rework the ability slightly for the big August patch, but here are some preliminary improvements:

Micro Drones had the damaged bug fixed (but that's not the big news)

Micro Drones now only ever fires a SINGLE PAIR of drones at all levels.

Micro Drones damage scaling tremendously increased with levels put into it

To give Black Widow additional build options, we've significantly increased damage from 5 powers:

Spin Kick base damage increased by 170%

Timed Explosive base damage increased by 30%

Coup De Grace base damage increased by 70%

Snap Shot base damage increased by 50%

Stinging Barrage base damage increased by 40%

I expect the Micro Drone change to be controversial, but it's a change that needed to be made (both the bug fix and the sheer number of AI entities on the screen at one time). I think we've buffed her damage in other areas that will give her many more options. In addition, the big August patch will help Black Widow in many ways and likely put her near the top of the hero power list.

NEW PATCH NOTES.

Game Update: 1.11.0.312

Patch 1.14 is the last small patch before our big August patch. While this patch is relatively small, our next patch is extremely large and contains new modes, new items and many upgrades to heroes related to the new improved defense system.
Content Additions

The new and improved Doop has returned to the game from his vacation. He can be found throughout the game in random places.

Design Note: We think Doop is awesome and we have plans to make him cooler and cooler with each patch. Stay tuned.
General Changes

Increased the amount of time before experience orbs will decay by about 20%. This should give you more time to defeat enemies before grabbing orbs in a chaotic fight!
We believe you should never feel bad about opening a Fortune Card, so we’ve made some changes:
The “instant boosts” have been replaced with 2-hour potions.
The is a small chance they will drop a Super Pack of 10 Eternity Splinters
The tooltip now clearly states what they contain
Midtown Manhattan supervillain experience has been increased significantly and normal enemies experience has been decreased by 10%. Boss loot tables have also been improved. We’ll continue to adjust experience and loot so defeating Manhattan bosses feels awesome and well-worth the time, but lower for those who ignore supervillains.
Sabretooth's heal mechanic has been temporarily removed and will be redesigned to be more intuitive and have better interplay.
Eternity Splinter 10-packs have been added to enemies in game at an extremely low drop rate. This drop rate is directly affected by Special Item Find.
Eternity Splinters have a higher chance to drop in pairs. This chance is directly affected by Special Item Find.
Red Terminal experience has been increased to improve the risk/reward factor of these zones.

Hero Changes

Design Note: The defense system and improved stat system drastically upgrades many heroes. However, we managed to slip in changes to a few heroes have received some quality of life improvements for the next week or two until the new defense system rolls out.

We have a ton of upgrades built into this system (damage and survivability) which we’ll be testing and iterating internally for the next week. Around August 20th, the test server will be open so you can test the new changes for yourself.
Black Widow

We've made some changes to Black Widow in order to alleviate game performance issues caused by her Micro-Drones. In return, we've increased the damage on many of her abilities to give her various options to players who want to use powers other than her Micro-Drones.

Micro-Drones: This power no longer fires an increasing amount of drones, it instead fires a pair of drones that deal much large single target damage. This change was made to improve performance issues caused by her Micro-Drones in busy areas such as Midtown.
Spin Kick: Damage increased by 170%.
Timed Explosive: Damage increased by 30%.
Coup de Grace: Damage increased by 70%.
Snap Shot: Damage increased by 50%.
Stinging Barrage: Damage increased by 40%.
Daredevil:

Daredevil is due for a full design review soon (which will include some significant changes to his powers and combo system). With this patch, we’ve increased the overall damage output of some of his powers in order to give Daredevil players new viable options in any area of the game.
Club Strike: Attack speed has been increased by 7.5%.
Taser Club: Attack speed has been increased by 7.5%.
Club Throw: Damage has been increased by 15%.
Relentless Justice: Tenacity bonus now applies to all types of tenacity, not just knock-up, knock down, and knock back.
Swinging Assault: Damage has been increased by 10%.
Jumping Strike: Increased the damage by 10%.
Deadpool:

In addition to increasing the damage of some of Deadpool’s ranged abilities, we’ve also added a new passive power to Deadpool this week that will allow him to have greater survivability in melee combat. Along with the other heroes buffed in this patch, Deadpool is due for a larger design review soon.
Flesh Wound: Now affects all targets (in a cone shape) in front of him.
Shoot All The Bullets: No longer has a power prerequisite.
Shoot All the Bullets: No longer gains bonus damage from power synergies.
Bang Boom: Damage has been increased by 20%.
Bang Boom: Damage radius has been increased by 50%
Armor Buster: Damage has been increased by 20%
Shoot All The Bullets: Damage rating multiplier has been increased to 20%
Shoot All The Bulllets: Damage has been increased by 40%
Safety Through Stabbing: New power added to Deadpool's Fighty tree. This passive grants Deadpool bonus defense and dodge chance anytime he hits with a melee power. Let us know how this feels on the Deadpool section of our official forums!
God Mode: No longer requires Pain to work. This should increase Deadpool’s survivability overall by ensuring he doesn’t have to conserve Pain for God Mode to activate.
Hawkeye:

Hawkeye is another hero receiving a pass this week based on community feedback. The goal for this week’s changes to Hawkeye is to ensure he has multiple build options for areas like Midtown where mob density is incredibly high. Let us know how these changes feel on our Official Forums!
Twin Arrow: Attack speed has been sped up to match that of Quick Arrow, to make the power easier to use.
Triple Arrow: Attack speed has been sped up to match that of Quick Arrow, to make the power easier to use.
Wave of Arrows: This power now fires 2 additional arrows at rank 1 to better differentiate it from Triple Arrow. It's range and attack speed have also been increased to make the power easier to use.
Piercing Arrowheads: The scaling activation chance for the piercing effect has been flattened to give constant growth and allow Hawkeye’s attacks to approach 100% chance to pierce in endgame.
Masterful Archery: No longer grants bonus damage to all Archery powers, but instead has an improved chance to deal a large DoT and flat damage on hit.
Explosive Arrow: Damage has been increased by 15%.
Tear Gas Arrow: Damage has been increased by 15%.
Shrieking Arrow: Damage has been increased by 15%.
Freezing Arrow: Increased the area affected by the freeze explosion, making this power easier to use against enemies.
Jean Grey:

This patch includes step one of Jean Grey’s changes, including removing some synergies that were thematic in nature, and giving her a critical chance passive (as well as a scaling chance to knock down). The design team has plans to give Jean Grey a new Ultimate as well as some new powers that will help players build Jean Grey in the way they want to play.
Kinetic Bolt: Synergy removed and the damage has been increased by roughly.
Psychic Hammer: Power prerequisite has been removed, along with its synergy. This power now has a scaling chance to stun, and its damage was increased.
Mental Focus: Defense penetration % starts slightly lower and scales linearly with ranks in order to give an increased bonus per rank. No longer grants a chance to knockback, but instead grants scaling Critical Chance.
Telekinetic Flight: Now grants mental powers a chance to knock down.
Kinetic Wave: Synergies have been removed. Spirit cost has been decreased by 2 and its damage was increased.
Psychokinetic Implosion: Synergies have been removed. Animation was sped up in order to improve its usefulness. Spirit cost has been lowered. Damage has been increased to compensate for the removal of synergies.
Punisher:

We’ve made some changes to some of Punisher’s skills to increase his build diversity and give players some fun new options. This is not the result of a full design review, but rather some tweaks based on community feedback and our initiative to make sure every hero is viable throughout Marvel Heroes.
Armor Piercing Shot: Now decreases enemy defense 100% of the time and will not spend Vengeance.
Chemical Mine: Tooltip now correctly lists damage per second. Its damage scaling has been increased, and it now deals consistent damage (instead of a variance).
Deadly Barrage: Damage has been increased by roughly 30%. This power will be receiving a new visual in a future patch based on community feedback.
Sticky Mine: Reworked to be a passive that applies the Sticky Mine effect to both Chemical and Proximity mines.
Rifle Shot and Impact Shot: Damage has been increased. Both shots now increase damage based on how far away your target is.
Shotgun Blast and Flechette Blast: Now increases damage based on how close your target is.
Ignore Pain: Damage reduction on low health has been improved to help with Frank’s survivability.
Killer Instinct: Bonus damage on targets not attacking Punisher has been increased. This power will be useful for Punisher’s who often play in groups with other players.
Flamethrower Blast: This power has been reworked to deal damage while holding the hotkey down and apply a burning DoT effect. The damage of Flamethrower Blast has been significantly increased, and the spirit cost has been reduced (by approximately 50%). This power will be improved with a longer range and new visual in the future.
Bug Fixes
Call the Lightning: Tooltip now properly displays synergy.
Thundering Strike's defense penetration tooltip has been fixed.
Fixed an issue where enemies had higher defense than intended in Midtown Manhattan.
Fixed a bug related to gaining stat points above the maximum amount (7). Gaining stat points above 7 will no longer cause the effect of the stat to not apply.
Captain America's Shield Strike now correctly synergizes with Opening Strike.
The two graphics options previously labeled "Mesh Quality" are now correctly differentiated.
Hulk Earthquake Leap: No longer additively stacks damage on use based on ranks in other leap powers.
Fixed missing SFX for several buttons on the Store panel.
The portal in Upper East that takes you to the 'Invaded Basement' now behaves as intended.
Cyclops' Optic Barrage now properly becomes faster with attack speed items.
Cyclops' Optic Barrage will now properly track targets when the mouse button is held down over them.
Cyclops' Uncanny Focus no longer disappears upon changing zones.
Cyclops' Channeled Blast will now properly deal damage to targets that resist the slow effects (such as bosses).
Cyclops' Sidewheel's tooltip has been updated to better clarify how the bonus dodge is applied.
Cyclops' Optic Devastation's damage variance has been reduced.
Wolverine’s Adamantium Skeleton's Tenacity bonus will now display on the character sheet.
Iron Man's Repulsor Barrage will now properly track moving targets when bound to a mouse button.
Reduced Ice particles on Slow conditions in order to increase overall performance.
Chase costumes no longer erroneously say "Owned" in the in-game store if you do not actually own the costume.

I thought Black Widow was already near the top thanks to dodge and drone spam. Hulk would probably be the top.

Thing kind of got shafted since he was decent and the forums were happy so they've simply neglected him since launch.

This patch is a huge nerf to black widow. Each drone represents a chance to crit or add a status effect with the appropriate gear. That's all gone now that she only shoots out two drones. She also doesn't have any real crowd control since the grenades and explosives are so awkward. They turned her into a melee character with no survivability.

can you trade fortune card costumes? i want thor's destroyer. have wolvie's and dp's card costumes.

I'm not disagreeing with that. The drone spam should indicate I'm referring to the current BW. Though you're right in that I should have considered the August line in reference to BW coming up instead of the current (until now) BW.

I'm pretty happy with what they did with Ms. Marvel. I get the sense that Hulk players were happy with the buffs. In regards to the hero power list. All games have a tier list The real issue isn't that it exists but the structure of it.

Isn't that more a flaw of Midtown Madness than anything else? Ranged units should crumple up close but Midtown has units literally teleport in (just like the hub areas in the story mode) which ruins kiting. It was problem at the start of each round of limbo as well, but after the start the ranged units could let the melee units take point.

The problem is that outside of the 30 minutes it takes to collect shards for a fortune card, Midtown is pretty much the entire game right now since it provides better experience and loot than any other activity. I don't expect the X-Mansion mode will be any different.

Everyone will be very strong in very short order. Play something you like and you'll see they get strong pretty quickly, especially after the big August patch.

Splinters aren't dropping properly according to the official forums. People playing 20 mins and still not getting a splinter.
 
Hopefully they don't buff heroes like they buffed the loot and splinter drops in the latest patch. People in the official forum are reporting getting only 1-2 splinters in an hour.

Hi folks,

As you know we made major changes to Drones to stop the DC and lag issues by bringing the number to 1 pair of drones per shot. We increased the damage of each drone pack significantly to compensate a bit.

We also fixed a bug that was allowing certain configurations of Drones to destroy bosses almost instantly.

We also buffed the damage of 5 other Black Widow abilities.

The first two changes were needed to stop ridiculous situations that hurt all players. The third change was to get Black Widow into a better place before the big August patch.

I believe there is more room for Drones to be buffed, so I just made two changes to drones using our live tuning technology:

Increased the damage of drones by 300%.

Reduced the spirit cost of drones by 60%.

This is obviously not going to be close to the boss-shredding amazement from pre-patch, but it puts the drones in a range of extreme effectiveness compared to most powers in the game.

I'll be testing on live and may make an additional change tomorrow morning depending on my results. I'll probably take a bit of a nap right now.

Also note that Black Widow will be receiving significant damage and survivability upgrades in the upcoming patch.

This is why you shouldn't believe everything a random poster says on forums.

I just logged in and got 4 splinters in literally 20 minutes. This was on my level 21 Thing in MM.

I dunno... There's kinda a lot of people, not just one, saying this patch is pretty messed up.

Ya, I find that commendable, although that also makes it so I feel I'm always waiting for the next patch to hit to jump back in.
 
I'm only talking about the splinters part.

It's not affecting everyone the same but splinter drop rate seems lower to me. Got 6 or 7 in about 90 minutes of playing. Though maybe part of the problem is bosses effectively having twice as much health because of the defense addition.

At least it seems like they're investigating the issue.
 
New Doomsaw update:

Just made plan with our awesome Engineer (who has a Punisher mug). He is writing script to make good stuff happen. For this weekend (maybe longer), the script will contain: (1) Double special item find from every enemy in the game. (2) 400% increase in the large XP orbs from Manhattan. (3) 80% damage buff from all base power damage - this should exceed enemy defense significantly by a wide margin and could be pretty crazy.

Reset my points in drones and grenades.

30 drones at 500 for 15k down to 2 drones at 1.5k. Ouch. And yeah, not getting multiple 240 pts of life of the startooth and various other effects. So this is what it feels like when a ridiculous skill gets brought down to normal levels. Thankfully I was just using BW as a tier whore and have no qualms dropping her.

I wouldn't be surprised if the actual BW loyalists are enraged though.

I haven't either. I think the Unstable Molecules requirement is crap, given that they are super rare.

Hmm, I haven't being doing reds, or blue terminals for that matter. I wonder if bosses still have better odds in there. Unstable Molecules should've gone the way of cosmic keys either way.

Unstables definitely got some sorta drop rate nerf. I use to find at least 1 every day or two but I don't think I've found a single one since that big Human Torch patch.

was wondering why leveling from 53 to 54 was so painful

There was a bug in the curves for some mobs exp. I'm tracking it down today for a fix.
