They scored the game 83? MC don't score games they just list them or am I missing something?

No they did with that review. Someone in the thread found a policy that they do that now with unscored game but I don't think they ever did it. So either this is new or they handpicked the games tho.

I don't know whats worse. Developers charging for early access (which everyone has access to) versus scumbags enabling illegal activity by breaking street date for a physical release.
Mom and Pop stores are “allowed” being they have to compete against the big box stores like Target and Best Buy and Walmart and Amazon.

All the local “mom and pop” game stores around here sell games a day early if they received the stock

In germany the stores can be forced to pay up to 25.000 bucks if they break street day first. If someone else did already everyone else is fine to do the same.

Oh I know. Trust me I have heard

But for the last twenty years I’ve been getting DVDs, Blu-rays and video games a day or two earlier than Street Date from my local mom and pop stores. It’s to “even the playing field”.
They have enormous rent, less popularity and they’re not a franchise with huge financial resources- it’s just a family owned business… So they sell a day or two early

I may go today and check out if they have Spider-Man 2

I just read that review. It is absolutely glowing, their only knock was that they thought the exploration of the relationships between Peter, MJ, and Harry was too genial. That's it. How that isn't at least a 95 (or being real, a 100 or 10/10) is beyond me. Given developer bonuses sometimes hinge on a MC score, I'd be fucking calling MC if I were working for Insomniac lol.

This will inevitably go down to 89. Going by other Sony games, there should be at least 20 to 25 more reviews yet to be posted. Probably even more since the Spiderman IP is more mainstream.

Looking forward to the game. Already preloaded.

Hearing they nailed both Kraven and Venom and both haven't been done better outside of the comics is great, especially given the flaws Mister Negative and Doc Ock had in the first game.

Doesn't also seem to have an incredibly rushed final act either with constant boss battles which is a big plus too.

Lol i remember when i was a kid and we always tried to make gamestop break the embargo, we actually succeeded 2-3 times.

The gamestop was inside a mall and they had the rule that if anyone inside the mall break the street date, they were allowed to sell, so we just visited every shop and took pics if they were already selling the game.

Another strategy was to visit every italian forum to see if some other gs in italy broke the embargo, it was usually followed by the dude posting a pic of the receipt so we had proof to show to the clerks.

Good times.

Interesting that PowerPyx has uploaded his guide for the second game and put the length of the story at 20 hours whilst he put the first at 8-10.

Everyone kept saying the story was the same length at the first but I highly doubt that now, this does seem a bit longer which I like given the whole concept of two playable characters.

First game took me 15 hours but i did most of the side missions and challenges. it was the perfect length. took me around 20-25 hours to platinum. again, perfect length.

That's good to hear because my only real complaint about the 1st one is it just ends a bit abruptly.
Totally agree.

I don't know what they were thinking in all honesty. First two acts are good and set up Mister Negative well to go along with it.

Then they threw it all away introducing Doc Ock as the main real villain and the last 2-3 hours of the game being full of awful boss battles and wrapping up the story without developing on any character much. Just messy.

But at least they learnt.

I expect to feel the same way about SM2 as I did SM. I really enjoyed my time with it, but I felt less compelled to replay it as I did compared to the Batman series for example. But I didn't have a bad thing to say about it, I just enjoyed my time with it and moved on. Maybe I'll return to it again in the future. I'm sure I'll feel the same way about SM2. Insomniac has a tendency to deliver exactly what I expect from them and I'm almost never disappointed.

There are reviews from sites I have never even heard of. What happened to selecting based on traffic and userbase and shit like that?

Fucking Starfield has 10+ Xbox sites giving it a 100 or 90.

How many playstation sites gave spider man a 10 or a 9 out of interest? Also, how many unknown sites have reviewed spiderman or starfield. Would be interesting to know.

Looks like spider man has around 30 extra reviews.
