Marvel Studios’ Eternals | Official Teaser

Who?

Marvel needs to stop cramming every C tier shitty Marvel property nobody's ever heard of down our throats.

I hope you don't complain that Hollywood is creatively bankrupt? Do you want new ideas or rehashes of things you have already seen? In terms of super heroes, this is original for the genre. All original properties in the comic film space are going to be based on C tier or lower level characters.

Trailer has over 13 million views already in less than 3 days. I'm pretty sure that is faster than Shang Chi.

Tag, you're it.
Why they didn't do shit when an IA almost ended humanity, or when Thanos killed half of the universe? Someone has a response (even if it's a potential spoiler)? And who or what is the bad guy here?

Anyway the trailer is meh and did nothing to me but it's a first look, I'm sure (or at least I hope) it's gonna be better with a story trailer. Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry and Ma Dong-Seok are not believable at all imo.
Good photography and a nice use of natural lights, as expected with Chloé Zhao.

Also yeah that last joke was a little bit cringe.

In the comics the Eternals had their memories and identities taken away so this is what might happen in the film. It probably will but why is a villain required? Ant-Man and the Wasp worked without a villain. Not sure why you feel the actors aren't working for you, they are basically gods, not super heroes.

Why would a few GODs have a "traditional earth meal" together? Why are they so colloquial and not more "formal, ceremonial"? If these are supposed to be GODs, can´t they act as such?

To show they are just like real people.

There was an antagonist in Antman and the Wasp.

I am thinking of the woman that had some kind of power. Forgettable movie really but I do vaguely remember her.

Ghost.
She was in pain and dying. She wanted to stop the pain and live. She didn't do anything evil or bad, she just wanted to save herself.

I know next to nothing about the Eternals, but this is Marvel, so I will watch it. Probably not in the theaters though. I've no interest in doing that anymore.

Looks boring and narration was contradicting itself, we have not interfered but also said we have guided humans since beginning! Not exact quote but ugh!

Here is a great video detailing history of the Eternals.

They most likely knew the Avengers could handle it .. which they did.

Considering the downtime was only 5 years for the people that got snapped away and the Emortals have been around for probs Hundreds Thousand of Years it was most likely a blip for them.

I recently cancelled my Disney + account as I've got no interest whatsoever on upcoming content, including this.

Ah yeah I see, let's hope it's done well and don't sound like a big retcon.
And for the bad guy, I'll just quote this because it's explaining it better than I do (and that's just ONE reason):
"Opposition is needed in a story because it helps the protagonist grow. Growth in a hero helps the reader or spectator to relate to the character and want to take their journey with them"

For the actors it's on me, I just don't believe them. Those 3 are not credible. Doesn't mean there bad actors or I don't like them.
Oh and Ant Man (1 & 2) are probably the worst movies of the MCU, which say a lot. I wouldn't take those as example.

They most likely knew the Avengers could handle it .. which they did.

Well I hope they lost their memories because if they just be like "Meh, they can handle it" it's freaking bullshit. I don't buy that.
And obviously they can't handle it since they lost against Thanos.

I was a massive comics nerd in my teens, had a massive collection (studied them, hoping to get into art-school for college) and I have zero recollection of The Eternals at all. Maybe they weren't a big thing back then but I used to scour the comic shelves and don't remember them at all.

That video though just left me more confused. What a convoluted mess.

Seriously why did we never get this, but we got the shitty Xmen movies from Sony.

Was looking for the scene in GOTG when they showed a Celestial and came across this.

Bit convoluted as well but does seem to have some logic that Galactacus may be the new Thanos through the Eternals.

After all they do have Fantastic 4 and the Silver Surfer to use now and this video is over a year old.

Yes, it’ll be a complete mess if they try to retcon into current movie universe!
I too was not too familiar with Eternals. Was something reference by other stories.
I’ll wait for streaming, trailer does not look interesting to me!

Nothing in that trailer screamed fantastic. It looked like boring trash, but that's just my opinion and to be fair, there really isn't that much to go on in the trailer

Why do you think it looked fantastic? We've had so many films that haven't been the standard cape flick, so what makes this one stand out.

The focus on early human origins and alien/ancient god angle is super fascinating to me (I love alt-history). Maybe not everyone's cup of tea.

Who?

My apologies for whichever Marvel exec did this to you.

May I ask your location so I know to avoid it in case I get a random Marvel exec trying to attack me in the streets?

Nobody cares about this shit.

Bring the fucking Xmen to the big screen for real. With Cajun gambit and sexy accent Rogue.
How many more Xmen movies do we need? I know they're going to reboot them under the Feige regime, but if there is any superhero troupe we've seen more than enough of, it's the fucking Xmen.

OTOH, The Eternals allows a bridge to the cosmic side of the Marvel universe, which has proven to be pretty damn compelling. It's kinda what made the Infinity Saga so good. The stuff happening on Earth is all well and good, but a good interstellar baddie goes a long way in upping the stakes. Also, as another user above noted, if Galactus is this next Saga's end boss, then it's gonna take more than the Xmen and Fantastic 4 to combat that. So having some pseudo-gods in the mix will help to balance the scales ala Thor and Captain Marvel.

Really?

Ive been watching Xmen Animated series, havent seen them since I was a kid. I think the show is so much better than any of the movies.
There are so many cool and unique mutants in that series, it could be awesome doing something worthy with them. I already they fucked up the Phoenix Saga, havent seen that turd thankfully.

Rogue
taking Captains Marvels powers is awesome and should happen in the canon Marvel universe

Also can we get Secret Wars? Also watched Spiderman TAS the other day and shit most of that holds up

I hope they take their sweet ass time introducing mutants. I would be fine with a 5-10 year lead up to seeing up to seeing a full X-men team fighting together against Sentinels.

pretty lack luster reveal for me. Honestly after Infinity War and the departure of the main roster. I have no real interest in Marvel. Well, other than Dr Stanger but that's really it.

You had loads of good actors Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo, Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johanssen, Jeff Bridges, Bensinaditch Cucumberpatch etc. who turned in good performances and are a big part of why the films worked.

Now we get a couple of guys from Game of Thrones, the coder from Silicon Valley and woman in the show about androids. Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayak looking as if they're on valium.

and woman in the show about androids.

Most people will know her from Crazy Rich Asians.

Seriously Humans was a great show and she turned in a great performance. But yeah, a British show is not going to travel well but check it out it's solid.

she is a good actor but helping to carry a movie, following a legacy of big names and films is no easy task.

it's not just a case of putting in big names, they need a good story, character driven with decent dialogue. if this is handing the torch over, this trailer doesn't inspire confidence.

I'm not disagreeing with the context, just pointing out that outside of that she's got good form.

Galactus isn't an Avengers level threat. He can be beaten by Reed Richards using a suped-up Swiss Army knife.

This looks absolutely stunning.

I swear Marvel's marketing is on point. With the teaser people asked why they didn't help with Thanos and then the trailer answers the question. I have no doubt they had these 2 trailers organized ages ago.
