Wonder if people have to buy the costumes to see other people's costumes like PS3's SSF4 alt 3s. Heck what am I kidding, the first batch of costumes are probably on the disk.

Didn't think we'd be seeing new outfits so soon. I'm a sucker for those Marvel outfits and Ryu is ridiculous enough that I must have it.

Anyone have a Tourny at where they picked up the game? My Local GS had a Tourny which was pretty awesome. I have a few pics lol.

So am I right in assuming that you NEVER want to use a weak attack in an air combo? The combo seems to drop every time I attempt it.

The character is just wearing the outfit, "cosplaying" if you will, like in SFIV when Zangief had a Haggar alt. The screen name still says Iron Man, so I don't think it really counts as Norman being in the game.

I don't fucking get why people do it, its a bunch of BS. I keep getting that and Iron Man spam, also it seems like Author can also spam in an annoying way too -_-

Still when you dont get one of those guys its a lot of fun.
 
For those wondering the origins of the new alts...

Chris - S.T.A.R.S. outfit from the first Resident Evil
Ryu - Original outfit from the first Street Fighter
Dante - Sparda outfit (Dante's father)
Captain America - Captain Steve Rogers outfit
Iron Man - Iron Patriot Armor
Thor - Original classic outfit

You can't resist. The money they'll make off of costumes alone will fund development for years to come.
 
Oh man, I LOVE the look of those alts. Model changes and everything! So bought! Can't wait to see what they do for other characters. I'm rocking Jack Kirby's Classic Thor for sure!

If you love fighting games and you love MVC3, the best thing to help the developers is to buy those costume packs. Therefore they get more revenue, better position to negotiate their next projects AND even expand on the current game with new modes, improved system, etc.

Then they'll release more DLC and still claim it's to " offset rising development costs."
 
Took it home and have been playing for the last hour or so. Not too happy about having to hold L1 or R1 to change characters. Effects the "jump in, jump out" nature of the game. But I guess it was put in to prevent spamming.

As if I'd have been able to resist. Capcom will have me by the balls for as long as they provide such delicious DMC fan service. (Gloria costume for Trish? Pretty please?) If Vergil makes it in as a DLC character I'll probably have to call flood control to save my house from a deluge of happy juice.

I've finally got the game. This was perhaps the most degrading purchase I've ever made, since I live in a country that denounces Jesus Christ and game preorders among other things, I had to keep checking with local store on a daily basis, and when I called this morning they told me that in order to secure a copy, I have to get quickly pick it up within two hours (they were closing for the rest of the day for some reason). It took an hour to drive to the area, and as luck would have it, two accidents were between me and the frigging store, so I was stuck for almost another hour. I kept calling them begging to wait for me since I was so close, but they refused "you've got 10 minutes or we're closing."

And it goes without saying that I couldn't find a parking space near them and had to park almost a block away, so there was a lot of running involved. I barely made it in time, I was sweating like a pig and almost coughed blood and shit.

This shit better be worth it.
 
just came back from midnight release, didn't take any pictures, sorry :p There was about 16 of us or so but we didn't have a tournament, too bad cause everyone was so scrubby. There was about 4 setups, and the biggest tv was the laggiest tv with freezing and shit. We just played casual. All we got was some stickers haha and the CE for both ps3 and xbox 360.
 
regarding the hitbox, if they wanted precision, they shoulda made 1 button for each directional button, so essentially it's like 8 buttons on the left side, now thats precision.
