Anybody know anything about where to get games early in western PA.

Back in Maryland I know the drill but out here its a no-mans-land. Closest thing I see to a mom and pop store is The Exchange(got them all over the place).

I just did some calling around and got the standard the game "comes out on Tuesday response". Not once did someone say they wouldn't sell it to me but the wording was very specific about the release date. I did not work on baiting out whether they received their copies yet. I had the feeling they have been getting a lot of calls about the game.

Anybody had any experience with The Exchange. I know they are a chain but they seem independently run.

Calling won't get you anywhere; if a store is known to sell early you'll have to visit them and take your chances.

For those in Toronto, your local Blockbuster might sell early as it's been reported that a few already have done so.

..... there is more to a match than draining their life. If you can keep people at bay the entire time and win that way nothing wrong with that. I mean people do it in boxing.
I hear you but, personally, I like to see matches to the end. Now that X Factor is in there also matches have the opportunity to get played out in crazy ways and the time limit just hinders that IMO.

I am trying to find out whether anyone has had any experience with getting games early from The Exchange. Or better yet experiences with The Exchange in general.

Kinda wish the launch event has a stream like Super did. I could actually watch it this time.

People forget it how was a pain in the ass to unlock everybody in MVC2 (especially the online Japanese version), 4 characters to unlock and relatively quick is not bad for MVC3.

I'm more curious about what Capcom is going to eventually add to the game. The possibilities are endless with the amount of characters between the two companies.

I have a feeling that high-level mvc3 play will devolve into "First person to land a kit knocks the other char out" since so many chars already have 100% non-xfactor combos. X-factor makes it even more one sided for whoever gets a hit in

That's the way MvC 2 is though. But this time, the devs pretty much made it so that the whole world can easily do 100% combos instead of only those in the know.

How does the handicap work? Does it decrease health or increase it? Seems scaling all damage back some % would be a quick fix to the 100% combos. Long as their arent infinites.

Ok, I have my curleh mustache fully grown and I'm currently fucking the Knicks, anything else I need to do before I get this game?

Is there any chance of Amazon getting the special edition back in stock?
I don't mind buying the regular version and getting the extra characters as DLC later on, but am worried it will cost more than the SE that way (or has pricing for the DLC characters been announced already?)

Also, not to start any console war debates or anything, but any mention about differences between the xbox and ps3 version? I'd prefer the ps3 version considering I have an arcade stick for it, but wouldn't like it if it's noticeably inferior.

Hopefully the above hasn't been beaten to death already :)

Calling gets me everywhere. In fact, one of the stores actually calls ME when they get games early. Believe me, the stores that don't care about breaking release dates usually won't care about telling you they have the game early if you ask.

All that being said, today was a bust for the NJ/NY area. Hopefully tomorrow, but I'd expect to wait til Saturday or even Monday.

Love the Morrigan Astral Vision combos. Just wish he'd stretch it's use to later it it's meter, but overall, very nice to see.

As far as what these guys are saying, I muted them long ago. As much as people complain about music and sound effects, game sounds + music are much, much preferred to the conversational drivel most streamers spout out...

Yeah works for me in MD

Getting rid of a time limit just drags matches out longer than they need to be though, as there's no "hurry up!" incentive for the player who's behind at the end.

I'm pretty sure there's an individual player handicap (not sure what this changes) in addition to an overall damage level adjustment, like TvC.

I agree, not sure I dig 100% combos... can get tedious pretty quickly in my opinion. Scaling back the damage would fix this!

This is actually pretty accurate. Calling stores in NYC gets you all the info you need.

They are also very polite and informative. Some even offer to call back once they get a shipment.

These guys live in Jersey? Not far from Rutgers? So around New Brunswick...hmmm....

The stream you mean? Thing is its on the 360... and I ve seen a bunch of torrent so it could be a pirated version they have. Don't get your hopes up...

AFAIK, there aren't any known differences between the two versions yet. So outside of issues like Live vs PSN, what version all your friends are getting, etc. there's not really anything to consider.

LoL at Hsien-Ko to Deadpool "Yeah, you're annoying, but not as annoying as Lord Raptor!" She said more, but they skipped the screen too fast...

Is it possible to active X Factor in mid air?

They said it was a pirated version earlier in the stream and denied it shortly afterward. :lol

And I don't agree at all that most streamers are like this. These guys are pretty ridiculous with the wrong info and super-intense rage-outs.

Is it because they're Smash players? Like, for real.

Yeah, if it was out in NJ early I'd have it. By Rutgers they could also mean Newark or Camden btw. They either have a pirated copy or they got it somewhere other than a mom and pop.

I thought it was just funny just how close these guys are to where I live.

They're just mad because you can't Wombo Combo in Mahvel.

I just really hate getting cut off at a certain point, I want to see the matches through to the end.

The combos in mvc2 require much better timing.
I would agree with this because I couldn't do the majority of them.

Edit: yeah these fools have a non-legit copy. The loading just went haywire.

from SRK

Game Informer:
9.25/10 Game of the Month.

Pros described as: Easy to pick up ( specifically mentioning the new control scheme and increased input leniency ), good depth, pretty and flashy, unique and interesting cast, smooth gameplay

Cons described as: Character endings are lackluster ( Comparing them to SSF4's animated and voiced character endings ), Online modes are fairly bare bones ( again comparing to (S)SF4 they mention a lack of tournament or team mode )
