I absolutely love this game, but many of you seem to not realize some things. It is way more easier to get blown up, and have one or two characters get slaughtered off a simple combo; yes, this happened in MvC2 but the difference is that it required skill, things are much easier in MvC3. It hasn't even been a week, yet, people have figured out how to murder one or two characters with ease.
As for X-factor, I do love it, but it makes it very critical to save it and not waste it early --unless you have a damn good reason to. I mean, is it really worth killing one character at the beginning of a match, knowing that an opponent could easily come back and kill your entire team with his last character X-factored? And remember, thats if your give the opportunity to X-factor, remember, you can't factor unless you touch the ground.
It'll be quite interesting to see where this game will be at in a month, other top players have mentioned concerns about the game. But there is one undeniable truth, the game is crack, and fun as hell.

As hyped as I am for marvel 3 I agree with Wong to a certain extent. Watching stream videos and the like the gameplay seems way easier to do ridiculous combos and the meter building seems to go faster, combine that with Xfactor and honestly it takes some of the fun out.
The worst offender by far is the Xfactor. Its basically an easy button for Cables quick air hyper viper beam x3...except without the skill and with EVERY CHARACTER.
When I was watching the team spooky stream it was kinda lame. Characters doing the same combos. Turtling the whole match (arthur) and doing about 10 hypers per player. It was ridiculously lame. Hopefully that stream is not indicative of the entire community...
Im still hyped for it, but things like this make me think of my hype for the xbl Perfect Dark, that just turned to sour disappointment (clunky online mode removed customization which was what PD was about) after purchase.

Man, don't let your gameplay time and enjoyment factor get centered on how one pro views the game. If me and my guildmates (along with millions of others) got worked up on how WoW's top guilds and players viewed every mechanic in the game, or even a select few mechanics, we'd have been constantly miserable.
That said, I've fallen in love with this game again. Really starting to get the hang of air combo timing, interrupts, advancing guard, the works. I manage to keep forgetting X-Factor exists. I still have no idea what it does for 90% of the characters. I should read up.
One major praise for this game:
SO GLAD it doesn't go back to the select screen or do a huge load back to a big versus screen for every new match in arcade mode. That slowed shit down so much in MvC2 HD last year, especially considering it was bizarrely made unskippable in that version.
Here, you rocket from match to match in less than 10 seconds. It's fantastic. The only load I can even think of is pre-Galactus. And maybe 1 in 10 matches where the PS3 chugs for a sec while loading characters pre-match.
Also, framerate is really nice, and obviously things only slow down a little when 4+ characters are on screen at once and some big hyper combo team up SFX explosion is happening.
This game's gorgeous!

It's not a "story" at all. You basically fight a bunch of matches and at then end get like 30 lines of text explaining nothing in typical fighting game storytelling.TEJ said:

Phoenix/Dark Phoenix LV3 XF....oh lord. That has saved my ass a ton in the matches I've been playing. I've been down to the end and just blow up on someone that doesn't know what to do against her combos.n3ss said:

In MVC2 you activated Flight mode for certain characters by doing QCB+KK (two kick buttons). It put you in a flight mode where you could move freely in an air space in all directions BUT you couldn't block. It was good for extending certain combos and mixed with air dashes allowed for easy pressurizing of grounded characters.
Now if you stayed in flight mode for too long the opponent would take advantage and hit you with a combo because you can't block. That's why you had to constantly do QCB+KK to enter flight mode then cancel the flight mode (unfly) so you can block, dash in and out, land do a low attack, jump up, dash, hit with overhead, fly mode, hit some more, unfly, dash, land etc.
It was a major mind game aspect for Sentinel and he basically bullied lower tiered characters. Storm and Magneto had fly/unfly of their own so they weren't bothered by Sentinel that much, Strider has Teleport to deal with Sentinel plus the trap and Cable played keep away anyway. It was a difficult trick to master and players could extend their combos by flying while in an air combo.
It's similar in MVC3 as well. My point is that to learn how to play with Sentinel well you need to master fly/unfly and you can't master it overnight.

I'm currently playing with Viper, Sentinel, Storm. I still need to get use to Viper's combos,
