4 out of 5 can't seem to find the block button

And the 1 that does somehow thinks sitting there from fullscreen blocking is somehow going to stop Arthur from throwing shit.

People right now are playing the game like MvC2, its silly to think this is the way people will play the game in 6 months.

That being said, i do NOT know how to deal against Wolverine. Jeesus Christ.

So far my one complaint would be to yeah, tone down the damage a bit. Its crazy when you cant do anything and youre dead in two combos ... in that regard its DEFINITELY not newcomer friendly.

Truth be told these online fools don't know how to block at all. They stay eating them spears.

The worst part is that they actually jump into projectiles. Josh mostly goes high with his and they will just jump straight into them. All they have to do is dash forward and close in on him.

Valid point. Though even those who do know how to block, but that keepaway keeps those fools locked down, taking chip, and punished for trying to get out of there.

I know I would get steamrolled if I met someone like that online.

Even though I'm a scrub.

Have you been watching the stream?

Might not be popular, but it is effective as fuck. NerdJosh steadily STEAMROLLING fools.

Josh is a tournament player and he is playing against random people online. Dude is going to wreck shit up no matter what.

For reference, I'm a regular player and I'm 8-0 online. Lots of people don't know how to block or get around projectiles right now. They probably don't know how to super jump or dash.

Personally I love the big damage. Makes the game intense.

My problem with SSF4 is you can make a ton of mistakes and still be in there. Thats annoying as hell to me. Used to not be like that.

Also, Sentinel is going to end up being a real problem. His only weakness is that he's large. If you let him get lv 3 XFC and try to attack him, you're done no matter what. Shit is seriously busted.

Everyone's using him too, and just bullying there way through to get wins. It's SF4 Sagat all over again.

For those that want to try and beat him, snap back him into the game and kill him before he might get lv 3 XF.

But even if they close in on him right now, Arthur, and/or Storm just pushes em back to full screen even if the other guy is blocking.

People will need to learn how to block. Part of the issues is everything is still new, we don't know what to look for/anticipate. Hence why NerdJosh is destroying, zone teams are great early on, people will need to figure out how to get around it. Once they do it won't be nearly as beastly as it is now, just more annoying than anything.

p.s. I love zone/keepaway teams :)

personally, anything beats trying and failing to win with deejay in super (not necessarily the fault of the char, but still frustrating)

i say bring on mahvel

Ugh...

I like how they added hitstun scaling to take out infinites but made it so many combos don't even need to be infinites in the first place.

That's what I planned to do. Seems like an OK plan to keep him away from Sentinel "focused" teams.

Honestly, Sentinel doesn't seem like a threat next to Storm. That bitch is looking CRAZY.

Cause people were complaining about every game timing out in the preview build before the damage was upped. Course people had no fucking clue how to play back then...

He didn't pick Rufus because he thought he was low tier. I remember one of his old tier lists, he had vanilla bison on the top and rufus second.
Never said Wong thought he low tier, but that other people thought Rufus was.
Teknopathetic said:
The only vid I recall seeing of Jwong explaining why he picked Rufus was him saying he thought he was a very "exciting" rush down character for spectators.

I remember impressions coming in from people playing the game in Japan week 1 and when people first read about EX Messiah owning everything and his ultra being so easy to hitconfirm into, SRK was flipping the fuck out. Nobody paid Rufus any attention during the location tests because he was an unappealing character and I recall people (jokingly) saying Rufus was broken because nobody played him during the loke test and reported it to Capcom.
I wasn't around for any of this stuff so I honestly had no idea. I can't remember which video it was that I heard him say it(or at least think I heard him say it). I'm pretty sure it had Wong busting Mike Ross's balls for playing Honda who he thinks is overpowered and then Mike coming back at him for playing Rufus.

I also remember him saying that he doesn't like playing the most popular characters or something similar. He used the same reasoning as to why he picked up Makoto for a little bit.

Edit: I'm certain I was linked to the vid in the SSIV thread.

Sounds like he legitimately needs the nerf.

this post made me think about playing an RTS

Hey guys, what's the best way to learn how to play this game ? Is there a training mode included that teaches all the combos, how to block, etc ?

Jumping into the game, with no prior fighting experience, and reading you guys talk like pros is quite daunting...

Or teleport.

Goddamnit, why don't people use their character's teleports? I know many are not safe, but being juggled by a flurry of projectiles coming from the other side isn't really safe either.

Storm's Ice Storm does WAY TOO MUCH FUCKING DAMAGE. X-Factor'd it's like 50-60%.

I totally agree with the Sent x SF4 Sagat comparison. Not just because both are very good, but because they share the same exact qualities. Big damage, viable offense, amazing defense, high health, zoner.

Sagat decided to go to the front of the bus and turned into a robot.

Well my problem its actually with speed. Right now some characters like Wolverine are so fast that just blocking isnt enough, you can block, try to attack and eat a big combo because you werent turtling. Yeah ill get used to it, but its a little ridiculous.

The big damage is fun, but people like haunts and the streamers are already at a certain level of skill people like me cant get to right away, so we have a situation were its hard to relate. Im thinking now a game like SF IV is actually easier to get into because its a slower pace, so even if you're not good at the game or execution you can get wins by doing simple combos.

You can change the damage level before every fight right?
Maybe the community sets 'low damage' as tourney standard?

I wonder if enough pros bitch that they will use the damage adjuster. lol too bad XF doesnt have an adjuster. I bet people would like that more.

I really don't think Sent is all that bad... Storm is looking scary as hell and in a few months people might be crying about lvl 3 xf dark phoenix auto-win. Character and team strats are going to develop as things go on.

Storm's chip is a weapon in itself.... she's like a sexier, flying blanka lol

All I need to do is somehow get into the electronics lockup at my store, grab it and go for the register, my cashier friend will override anything maybe and bam I've got it. Just need to figure out what day we'll get it in.

I believe so.

Thats why you have xfc. I don't think haunts ever used his real team on me, but having xfc at least helped me not get totally murdered. I feel like mvc3 is easier to get into personally, but then again I did play mvc2 for a bit.

I noticed a lot of games run it close, timer wise. I'd guess a lot of games will end in timeouts with lesser damage and the same exact 99 seconds.

That might be a problem, no?

I gotta say, Josh is playing MAD lame.

You're never going to want to play me, I plan on playing very lame with my team, haha. And to those that continue to insist that Sentinel is not a threat, stop kidding yourself. Sentinel, Phoenix, and Storm will be monsters if they have a level 3 X-factor.
