Don't get it twisted, it still is a very deep fighter with crazy amounts of technical training you can give yourself in Training mode and Mission mode, but it is also a great place to start, since it is fairly easy to get in and start doing cool shit. To quote another Gaffer "the ultimate instant gratification fighter." It will take you on a wild ride.
Same reason Street Fighter has a bunch of shotos. Those characters are popular.GatorBait said:Someone explain to me the point of having Ryu in this game since Akuma is in it? Unless you are a total Street Fighter casual player who just loooooves Ryu, I don't know why anyone would ever want to pick him in this game.
lol that was great when he wanted to rage quit.enzo_gt said:

When you encounter some of the craziness people have cooked up online even pre-release, you've got to expect to get steamrolled unless your willing to put in the time and effort to get better at the game. Same as any other game that has online really, but for fighting games the learning curve is a wee bit steeper.Jeels said:Do you just mean via playing the game single player or is there something specific? If I were to play devil's advocate, then I'd say, 'why not axe Akuma and give Ryu an Evil Ryu transformation super that gives him all of Akuma's moves?'WanderingWind said:...because it's a Street Fighter game? Do you really think they wouldn't put him in? Not everybody who picks up this game is a power player.

In his opinion the 3 worst characters in the game are Captain America, Ryu, and Haggar. But they can still be worked with and it's too early to truly tell.
It's actually cancelling out of the web swing, which is really cool. You can do it at any time by pressing any button.Busaiku said:Blocking while web swinging is cool.
The more I see of Chun, the more I like her.-PXG- said:I started playing Chun this morning, guess I will use her more. Definitely gonna try Ammy and Haggar too.
Right now I'm wondering who else is Ryu tier. Everyone else just seems so beast in their own ways. Maybe Chris? Or is he underrated?Chamber said:Hypefactor Akuma is going to be another character that induces some bitter tears. He looks like a real beast.

Haha, up until a few days ago Chris was Haunt's favorite character.enzo_gt said:Right now I'm wondering who else is Ryu tier. Everyone else just seems so beast in their own ways. Maybe Chris? Or is he underrated?
This post I just can't compute, almost half of the roster are returning characters from MvC2, and more than half if you count TvC. Unless you're strictly speaking about additions or new incarnations.
No, what he's trying to say is that even though MvC2 had more characters, MvC3's cast is way more diverse in playstyles, and looks to be much more (relatively) balanced. And I agree wholeheartedly, MvC3's cast shits on MvC2's even though MvC2 is one of my favourite games of all time.
