Will that levelup footage be on youtube or something? I was too busy getting my teeth kicked in by Kinshiro's Wesker, and Chun (legs).

Yes it's very early, but let's be careful and try to see beyond the hype and insane flash.

Wolfkrone has been putting in the work for 2+ years in SFIV to perfect his Viper to the point where you can say that he's the best in the US.I could say the same thing about Vangief who had to work hard to polish his awesome Zangief.

We are already seeing absolutely ridiculous combos in Marvel vs Capcom 3 and if you really think for a second,it doesn't have anywhere to go really.People are already doing 100% combo damage or comeback thanks to level 3 x-factor.

The game engine is very very loose and it could seriously cripple the depth of the game. After all, what's the point of mastering when there's not much to master thanks to the insane damage offered by the game?
Marvel has always been over the top. You think Marvel 1 and 2 weren't like this fresh out the box?

This is what Marvel is and always has been. Stop comparing it SF - they're nothing alike outside of the inclusion of a few characters.

Keep misspelling your s/n o.o

Lol, that really caught me off guard. I've only used against X-23/Wolverine players -- or generally any fast moving critters, it annoys them.

Been up playing since my internet died several hours ago.

I come back and find not only Wolvie is god tiering but now an insane near Spencer comeback, some crazy team with dante, Mike Ross ragequitting, marn ablaze, The Mayor of Earth laying pipe to EVERYONE, a Clockwork Neo rematch, and some crazy as fuck play statements about X-23, Tron, and Phoenix...

DAMN YOU COMCAST!!!!!!!!!

Someone please say this stream was saved and is up somewhere. I'll download, watch or do just about anything to catch these moments. Please just say I missed all this and there's no seeing it.

I feel sorry for someone who watched the level up stream and only saw combos and damage and none of the creativity.

Hah I'm the same way. Reading over the posts makes it seem epic. Kintaro told me Justin was tearing it up but I didn't want to stream while playing capcom's game. It's like asking for something to screw up.

I need to hit training mode and work on my basics hard, dropping lots of easy combos. Also need to figure out how to effectively pressure with all my characters (leilei, ironman, shehulk)... that's something i lack completely.

No way - Pick Wolverine and have Akuma assist Tatsus all day to win. Its just that simple!

Marn, the guy who most people thought was already one of the best because he'd had such a head start with the game, said that "he'd been playing the game wrong" after he saw Justin dismantling Advance Guards at the beginning of the stream. Dude is baiting that shit like its a Blazblue burst - except you can't run out of Advance Guards. Wong was on some other shit the entire night. Just wait until he starts picking characters for other reasons than "their hyper looks cool :D"

That being said, a new unblockable gets discovered every hour and a guy wins tourney matches by mashing with Dark Phoenix... -_-

You are ignoring the fact that people's defense will improve with time. Wolfkrone and Vangief are both awesome not only because of the combos they do, but because it is very hard for other players to do damage TO them. You are looking at this very 1 dimensionally and seemingly ignoring that players defenses will improve drastically with time as they get accustomed to the speed and mixups in the game. When that happens, the decision to use x factor will become more crucial as it won't be the showstopper it is right now. Combos and lvl 3's and x factor will always do huge damage, but as players adjust to the game they won't be as easy to connect with and that is when the advanced shit will start showing up, because new setups and assists tactics will be needed to open up defenses. Then players will adjust to those new setups and figure out ways to defend them better. Just looking at raw damage and saying that the game has nowhere to go is crazily shortsighted.

I love how your comparing it to SFIV when they are totally different games, but your also saying that there's a lack of depth to the game engine when this game is just as good as SFIV.

It's way to early to say where the game is gonna head in a months time let along a couple years but the game has tons of depth just like the MVC1 and 2 and I can't wait to see where it goes.

I don't think your really giving MVC3 enough credit either.

I = Scrub

As a scrub I need more scrubs to play with.

GT = Xenolock

Also if any better players want to help me by helplessly slaughtering me over and over, feel free to add me. It is really hard to input with the 360 D-pad.

Marvel is not about doing the biggest combos. This is the only thing I can tell you.

Rumor: Doc Ock and Frank West are Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 DLC

Wow MvC3 is on another plane than sf, getting my ass handed by the computer like it was daigo beating on me... and yeah I know its not very good lol. Really not used to this crazy speed, assists and combos... crazy!

"Can anyone recap?"

It was like Justin at the peak of his MVC2 days. He was really on a completely different level from everyone else at the tournament.

Clakeyd had some sick Tron/X-23/Morrigan team synergy and combos.

Floe rocking the Haggar pipe.

You really have to see it for yourself. His Wolverine is insane. Most people couldn't figure out how to break through his constant pressure game. His Wolvie was really good against Sentinels in particular. He would just keep combos going nonstop and baited them into air grabs. The only time he ever had any respect was when Floe was using Haggar. DAT PIPE.

His Spider-Man was also craziness.

Yeah Akuma is so nasty. A sentinel killed off two of my characters tonight and I came back with X factor Akuma. So satisfying. haha

Haggars assist is insane. Spencer seems to do really well versus sentinel drones too. He can just swing around at the top of the screen right past them.

FUCKIN HAGGAR. So annoying.

Anyway, I've heard over and over that Wolvie is top tier but have yet to see it. Cant wait for the replays.

Just so much poking to get around the blocks. That combined with wolverines speed made it look unreal. Tbh, Clackeyd's X-23 was fast and deaddddly. How just destroy characters if she had a level 3 bar or higher.

Make sense seeing the relation and all. lol

Crazy thing is we hardly saw any Akuma other then the tatsu assist, his wolverine was on god level destroying whole teams.

Me too. I can't wait to see what everyone's been talking about in here. Silly me, doing productive stuff that I could have put off until later while all the crazy shit was going down. I hope it's all archived.

Some fun stuff with Super Skrull. His j.S hits real deep as a cross up and because it's chargeable, you can do a little fake out and go straight into st.L. I dig it.

So basically they cut 4 chars so they could add them as dlc... this dlc thing is going to get worst and worst!

Unused and incomplete stuff in games is hardly new. I don't see how this automatically means they were cut for dlc. Now, it is likely they'll become dlc because the work was already partially done, but that doesn't mean they'd have made it to the core game if there was no dlc.

Are the J. Wong matches available anywhere (JustinTV, Ustream, Youtube)?

Thanks.

Yea, I'm wondering the same thing. The last 3 pages of comments have had me cracking up at work.

Still working out the kinks and I change my mind every hour but I think my new team is

Taskmaster (AKA Evil Link)
Trish
Iron Man

Three relatively balanced characters who can handle themselves at all ranges with some decent tricks I feel like. Plus all have strait forward beam supers making DHCs easy. Just have to figure out assists.

Few random thoughts after playing online for a few hours last night:

  • Need to go into training mode and get bnbs down, still drop easy combos
  • Have to remember to use assists, I always forget I can until my opponent uses one and the light bulb goes off
  • It's been a common complaint but X-Factor should be toned down IMO. Both the duration and power increase should be cut in half. Really dumb that Sent can fire off two hypers and CHIP half of a characters life.
  • Still two early to decide if Sent and Dark Phoenix are OP, but they're annoying as hell to go up against, that's for sure.

"How good is his command grab?"

A bit slow startup, but good. Great range and his AA version has huge range and you can kara cancel for more. At least 50% (high health characters aside) comboing off it. Also, after you finish that combo (grab, dash jump d.c, dash, st.L, cr.M, cr.S, sj.MMH xx Inferno), mid screen it seems like you can actually AA grab reset on people who tech backwards. I've gotten it a few times in training mode, but the range and timing seems really specific. In the corner after air inferno you can try to jump up and air throw after they tech and get another combo, but again, only if they tech backwards.
