anyone who has the guide: can you tell me the frame data for Doom's forward H compared to his S? Both are launchers, wondering which is better to use.

Yeah that would actually be a good thing for the game to show you the inputs on screen rather than the name of the move (hell like street fighter does) and even show you a playback of the combo so you know what your doing wrong. For a game that is looking to attract the masses it sure is cryptic in its learning material!

Heck even the transparent menu in the trials is kind of distracting... never had these issues in sf4... damn Ono sure seems like he can run a project 10x better. (not saying sf4 is better just that's it's more polished)

So true, command list and the missions(?) are ridiculous.

I need to find a good team...right now I have good characters ( well..good for me) but no cohesive teams.

On the team:

X-23, Chun-Li ( perhaps one or the other...although Wolverine has replace X-23 in certain occasions)

Last slot?:

Viper, Zero, Tron, Wolverine, Dante.

But I suck with Dante and Viper. Tron, I was only using her as a damage sponge. Zero dies to easy for my spazzy style of play. and Wolverine is redundant with X-23.

I need to play with the other side of the cast but outside of Hulk ( who is super ragey in this game goddam), Spiderman, and perhaps Wesker no one really clicks with me.

But still I'm having fun, I'm not liking that I'm ranking up which should mean that the wins will stop coming soon but at 7-15, I'm cool. 3 wins a day keeps my depression away?

Damn the mission mode is harder than SSF4. I have no problem with links in SF but the MVC3 combos (kind of like target combos in SF) is killing me. My fingers just can't move that fast :(
It's like dialing something on the phone.

I need to get my priorities straight. I'm heading to the Bahamas, yet I find myself getting mad cuz ill be two weeks behind everyone in the lab. WTF?

P.S.-Jwong's Wolvkuma needs to be posted yesterday.

Bring Marvel with you. Feign sickness and stay in your hotel room the whole time.

Blame Namco and their patent on fighting game tutorial modes.

I won't be playing MvC3 until June so I'm going to be 4 months behind :(

And this thread moves way too fast to keep up. Hope the Levelup vids will be posted soon.

Hard Kick ie Forward + H is

Startup = 8
Active = 4
Recovery = 24

S is

Startup = 11
Active = 4
Recovery = 22

I like the S launcher cuz it looks cooler :P

This is extremely stupid on top of the other stupid stuff. IMO the gameplay is stupid good and the rest of the package is just plain stupid.
This should be the game's official subtitle.

gunna go into training mode to see which has more range, his hard kick might be better for relaunches :D

Well at least they told us that everything outside of game play sucks right on the box.

I'm working the box office at Jonathan Coulton tonight. I have computer access. Please tell me there's a stream happening tonight so I can watch and then go watch the show.

6 game win streak in ranked. wtfisthisidonteven.... maybe Ploid was right. Maybe this game just fits me better.

That would be awesome.
Say, have any GAF posts made it to box art ad copy?

Or maybe the game is brand new and no one knows how to play it yet.

I still don't know what you mean :lol I really haven't been bothered in training mode at all.

Do you mean the fact that it doesn't actually tell you how you do the moves (you need to manually press Start and go to Command List)?

Pathetic. This is why I bought a TV with picture in picture. I'll find a real tutorial on the interwebs.

On page 26 of the artbook that came with the CE there is this Shinkiro art with Ryu and Wolverine. Anyone know if that's available online yet? It looks really nice.

Played this for about 5 hours with a couple of friends yesterday at one of their places (since I'm still kinda on the fence about picking it up). Game is pretty fun and I expected the "We'll just make every one broken so things will balance out in the end" philosophy of things to take hold on this game. But unlike say... BlazBlue or SFIV, I actually like playing with a vast majority of the cast. Sure, I'm mostly cemented in Sentinel, Amaterasu, Trish/Dormammu, but I had fun playing as characters I didn't even like that much in MvC2/Tatsunoko (Cap America, Iron Man, Viewtiful Joe, Doom, Magneto, etc).

But the little brother of one of our friends was pissing us the fuck off with Dante, though until we started getting used to the game.

Another extra stupid thing about the game is the controller config I don't get it what is everyones damn problem. Just let people push the button they want for a given action. Why do you have to scroll through a list of items to match actions to buttons.

How do I do that? :-/

If I'm right (can't remember if it's to record dummy or start dummy) you go to button configuration and cycle through a spare button till you see record dummy - I can't check it myself to make sure right now unfortunately...

It's amazing that Capcom never copied the perfect system that HDR used. BlazBlue used it as well. So simple!

This game is too fucking God. what the fuck did Capcom create?!

Hmm I think I got my team. Team Reset that rush. Dante, Zero and X23, they have some move consistencies in the fact they can reset by appearing behind opponent and they all have air kicks. Only problem will be dealing with spammers... didn't seen Jwong strat on taking teams A.S.S with wolvie so no idea yet.

Capcom needs to make a new position that just helps with overall UI, netplay and option unity throughout their fighting game franchises. How are you going to make a new game and remove options that were present in your prior games. I know the teams are different but this is just foolishness. You sit down have a meeting and discuss what other games in the genre and even games in your own company support. You try your best to meet that feature set.

Some of this stuff is just basic ass things that could easily be fixed. Who knows if they will ever be adressed because releasing a patch is a chore.

THIS!

Yes, I could understand if Capcom wasn't a big player or if their games bombed, but with capcom's track record there is no excuse not to provide the same benefits throughout their fighting game library.

Why ensure that you get all of the basics covered when you have DLC TO SELL BABY! SLING THAT CRACK ROCK!

The community continues to let them off the hook, so they continue to do stupid shit. No surprises there. =/

Most likely they won't sell ui upgrades or new net interfaces/spectator mode because it probably needs to be an all or nothing thing. Just like with SF4 the Tournament mode was a free upgrade.

Since the next set of characters(not shuma or jill but whoever is next at bat) is not completely on disc I am assuming they will need to patch everyone so at least you can play against them with no issues. This is where we will see some changes if they occur. Hopefully spec mode and some more lobby options. I am not getting my hopes up for any other changes.

Hopefully someone can ask some hard questions to S-kill in an interview to determine if they are even working on getting these fixes out in a timely fashion? He probably has some insight about the dev focus post game release date.

He's not just talking about potential DLC. He's talking about layout and the overall presentation of your game. MvC and SF4 have completely different presentations, and it can be confusing and off putting at first.

What did BB do for multiple buttons mapped to one button?

I don't recall. I don't remember needing to map multiple buttons to a single input. My brother has our copy of CS and I have no idea where my CT copy is, or I'd check it out.

Yup, just like how versatile MT Framework is, they should also have an additional system running for Online play that's universal in all their future fighters if possible. One thing I do like with MvC3 though is that you're able to rematch as much as you want in player matches without going back to the lobby or select screen. I wish SSF4 had that

Isn't MvC3 the first Capcom fighter to use MT Framework? I'd imagine there were some complications there.

Yep, Dead Rising, Lost Planet, DMC4 and RE5.

I can understand complications for spectator mode. Lets just assume the network overhead was a problem. but things like:
-Button configuration
-Lack of lobby options
-No kick option
-No replay option in lobby mode
-Needing to map a button to do recording

Those are surely not mt framework problems.
