Yeah we discussed this a little earlier. Think it has something to do with input buffering/ stuffing in online. If you are having this problem offline you are probably pressing buttons.

I just dropped the bomb over in the capcom unity thread so they know that I was shafted on shipping too. Also, it seems like I may be one of the people whose item is in limbo and never left indiana. Others are saying they got in touch with usps people and found out their package never actually got into a usps sort facility and the tracking updates were all local capcom store updates.

Crapcom , scamcom trapcom store stay taking the L

On one hand, I appreciate Capcom squeezing in as many characters as they possibly could. I know they were looking at 30+ with their initial announcement, but early reports sounded conservative like they were going to be in the low 30s. A roster of 36 total with 2 more DLC right around the corner is very nice, especially considering these characters feel a lot more complete and full-featured compared to some of MvC2's characters.

On the other hand, this game feels very much incomplete in a lot of ways. No spectator mode makes lobby play virtually unusable for me and many others. No kick option, bad matchmaking combined with kicking you back out a menu every time it can't connect, and no option for rematches in ranked games...all very head-scratching. Piss poor menus and presentation, awful endings, no replay saving in multiplayer, and a noticeable lack of stages...

...the game is definitely lacking in a lot of ways that you would think would be standard after SSF4 established them. I know some people are salty about it, but if a SMvC3 could fix all these flaws, I'll happily trade in MvC3 and drop another $40 because I know I'll get years and years of play time out of it.

I know Capcom wants to bend us over financially, but I'd rather them do it quick with a one-time $40 purchase instead of drawing it out over months (years?) with one $5 piece of DLC after another.

The one thing I can't complain about is 8 stages, because the stages we got kick the crap out of 90% of the stages in SFIV. That and dynamic music options keep fights feeling a lot more fresh in terms of presentation. We know more stages aren't hidden on the disc, at this point. I will pay money for future stages if they make them, 'cause the guys building these stages deserve to be rewarded.

Everything else, yes, is some degree of unpolished.

Of course, we are also a bit spoiled since our point of reference is /Super/ Street Fighter IV... SFIV cleaned up after patches and another year's worth of development time. Super is a pristine and polished package.

Ugh, online. Why must you be this broken. I find the good games and people leave after losing once. I don't give a fuck about win/lose stats. I just want to play. :(

What system are you on? I'll play :)

GiantBomb TNT for MvC3.

Not high level play but GB is always entertaining.

Would we be happier if the game came out in April with spectating and better online infrastructure or are we happier that it came out months earlier so we can play it? :P

If I would have known how broken some of this stuff was... I could have easily waited. Guess they wanted to give themselves space away from Mortal Kombat though.

If it came in april I bet it still would be bad like it is. They would have just put the rest of the alt costumes on the disk, and finished Jill's character + the other buffer DLC characters (without votes). This is capcom.

SF4 to SSF4 and you still had to look for invites by starting your own room, or go in arcade mode with requests enabled. Same here but worse. The only thing that would probably be better is.. uh I'm stumped.

These mission mode trials are making me dumber. I'm about to just skip out on this shit...

Blazblue should the standard for online play.

And training/challenge modes too... best since VF.

Yea. Another problem is when my blocking works and I go to counterattack against a rushdown, it's pointless half the time because they can just keep going regardless. There's a lot less risk involved in this game regarding going all out than I'm used to in other fighters where getting a big sequence blocked leaves you wide open

What's a cancel?
"breaking out of a current animation or move by inputing another move that cancels the previous one."

If capcom just fixes the network exception that causes the game to revert back to the main menu I will be happy.
This isn't all I need to be happy, but this absolutely needs to be fixed pronto.

Wow some people say their package was claimed to be shipped on the tenth and still has not arrived. USPS does not see their tracking number anywhere in the system

Are there any other beginning PSN players that want to try and learn the fighting system? I love fighting games, but suck so much at them.

PSN: reggieandtfe

All stage except that final fight and ghouls and ghost stages... they just look so out of place...

I did my first KFC! X Factor canceled that Desperado but I did not follow up. xD

Still did not get my game... It's in Indiana. My friend who also ordered from Capcom got his today. Profound sadness...

Good god the online sucks for this. Haven't gotten into a single ranked/player match yet and if I want to play at all I have to wait in the lobbies. Ultra fail Capcom.

The MvC3-related shipping rage reminds me of my own Hulk-like behavior when I got super hassled getting my Droid X to ship out last year. I wish you luck, my friends. Stay cool.

What sort of penalty is there for leavers cause this is getting pathetic? Fucking next-gen and their incredibly easy way to exit a game.

I basically abandoned just going to the xbox live menu. Turning on fight requests
in arcade mode is the way to go right now.

My thumb hurts after trying to practice in Mission Mode. The only character I was able to get past level 6 with is Tron. I think I'll stick with Arcade Mode for now and earn some more funny endings.

Same way on the PS3.
Arcade mode and turn fight request on. Works like a charm.

Its pretty crappy dude.

How so?

A friend on another site was bitching about his team not being able to deal with IM spamming unibeam or deadpool spamming trigger happy from full screen.
I went in to the lab, picked the same characters he had, set up the other team to have IM/DP and proceeded to record the spamming projectiles. Playback repeat turned on and I tried to work around it, including changing the assists of the other characters on my team to see if they could help. Stopped playback when I was satisfied and moved on to the next character.
The amount of options and setups you can make using training mode is pretty awesome in my book. Not sure what more you could want?

Reading this thread the penalty is apparently having to waste 15 minutes looking for another match. Seems fair.

A lot of these gripes about online sound the same as SF4 did originally, so why couldn't they put their experience and knowledge on that to good use?

Is Felicia completely invulnerable after her super? It seems that even when it whiffs she winds up on the other side of you and even you mash crouch low she gets priority.

Fuck the Capcom store. =(
I'm sorry for you dude. :(

All my criticisms aside, the game is a lot of fun.

Maybe he means the options you can change. Like changing the assists (couldn't be hard for them though, the only game with assist types and training?), damage, ko (making vs cpu there instead of needing vs mode), and such. The placement of the Record/Play options is stupid. At least have it written in the onscreen menu somewhere telling you the location of it.

GB faces GUnitV1 online.

Ryan: So your facing G-Unit eh? But not the latest version it looks like?
Jeff: Yeah version one.
Ryan: So they still have Whoo Kid and all that in this version?
Jeff: I guess so.

GB commentary <3 LOL

Fighting games cost too much. SF4 only sold what? around 2 mil? Ouch, best to recycle reuse.

So are the missions like that training mode thing in SFIV? Where you have to perform certain combos to proceed?

If so, does it show you what inputs you need to do or just the names of the moves?
