There are more videos. You just have to unlock them. I think the one you're talking about is the 4th "opening" video. You can see them in the gallery after you unlock them.

I absolutely don't remember how you unlock them though, haha.
I really like the second intro movie :)

So what's the opinion on spencer? Playing around with him in training seems like he's really limited to what he can do. Feels like capcom made sure you couldn't do crazy shenanigans with the chain.

Spencer works really well with Lei-Lei, for one! ARMMMM and Maneuvers both DHC into Chireitou and Tenraiha very well, believe it or not, and Armored Sempu Bu makes it easy to qcf+a into whatever with Spencer.

On his own, Bio-Com is a pretty nice powerhouse. He can advance easily and quicky when covered by assist, by using his unique dash (Attack + special). His crouching Medium is a pretty decent anti-air, standing light has great priority, and hits all but the lowest crouching opponents, and jumping S has a GREAT crossup hitbox.

Basic L M H into qcf+S (Armor piercer) does fantastic damage for something so simple, and leads into free ARMMMMMMMM super. qcf+A, A can be followed up full screen by a quick move in + jump, qcf+b, and this can be followed up also by BIONIC ARMMMMMMMM.

Simple X-Factor setup of ARM punish, X factor, Bionic Manuvers Hyper, DHC into anything else at the end works absolute wonders.

With proper assist use, I'd say he's VERY effective at stacking on damage, and helping the team DMC all over the place. Keep him full of meters, and he's a beast.

Is there a short cut for > v \ ?

I cannot seem to hit it perfect every time :(
6236 is interpreted as 623 instead of 236. Double-tapping 33 doesn't work in this game like it does in SF4.

(Look at your numpad if you're confused.)

No shortcut. I'm now on a stick and this motion makes me sick. So much easier to do on pad. How do you stick guys do it? Can you guys do Dante's double Z + Atk commands?

Bah, my other weakness. Double fireball motion (If I'm going to try to do Dante's double Z+Atk commands). I'll try 6236 later today. If it gives me the ability to use those commands in battle it's better than running back to pad for them.

Indeed, I changed from pad to stick and this command is a fucking nightmare. Was so much easier in SF4 :(

I Always end up hitting 63236

I think I might have found a little trick as I was playing tonight.

I'd go from neutral to forward, then let it go to neutral and push it slightly under forward + atk and it does the Z specials. It's almost like I'm tapping forward forward, I don't get a dash. It's not reliable though. I guess as I hit the slightly under forward motion it taps down first then the forward click together.

I am still wondering how playable this would be with my PS3 pad. I no longer have a stick. :(

I think I'm doing pretty good with 102 wins and 19 losses. All on a PS3 pad..I don't have a fightstick either.

Use the d-pad and you will kick amazing ass.

I'm using my old sf4 fight pad. No doubt the challenge is pushing so many buttons quickly with just your thumb. I'm getting better with it and it really isn't THAT bad. It's certainly doable.

jeez..with all the info overflow in this game i honestly have to say i almost prefer the dark ages. Theres so much discovered in only a week...

Has more to do with internet/community than anything.

Oh sweet. That helps a lot guys. I think I am going out to buy it today. ;)

OK....

Hulk is definitely the character with the highest raw power in the game. Don't believe me?

Get a buddy with you. Put Hulk on point. Both should have 3 meters.

Get your buddy to do a THC (team hyper combo). As soon as all his 3 characters come on screen, X Factor with Hulk and do Gamma Crush. Try to do it so that both you and your buddy are close to each other so the Crush hits them on the way up.

Even if it doesn't hit going up, all assist characters will die and if it hits going up it will most likely kill the point character too. This is the easiest way to kill AN ENTIRE TEAM in a second.

It's fucking hilarious when you see it the first time. I don't think it will happen in a real game situation *because no one uses THC in pro matches) but Hulk has the threat to take out 2 characters instantly.

Sorry GAF, just joined the dark side and swapped out Iron Man for Sentinel. After whffing his launcher for the 100th time decided to go with Sent. His LVL 3 X-Factor is just absurd and his H > rocket punch > hyper combo is just unfair to new players.

Right now going with Task, Trish, and Sent.

Speaking of Task, nothing more fun than landing a full combo on a Dante or Zero (L > M > H > charging star > S > air M > M > H > S to jumping hyper OTG) and blasting away 66% of their life to start a round. Must be so demoralizing, I love it.

From the Guide

Opening 2 - 15000 PP
Opening 3 - 30000 PP
Opening 4 - 60000 PP

I'm having no problems with the fight pad, but I'm also super weird in that I have to use a pad plus claw hand the buttons, so hitting the multiple buttons isn't an issue for me.

Akuma could be a headache at times. Those tatsu's are safe as hell on block. I need to find a better way to punish his offense with wesker when I'm in the corner"Calling Maximillian"

Eurogaf, has anyones steelbook from gamestation already been shipped? Never ordered from them, and I'm getting a little nervous :/

Mine arrived yesterday (UK).

The package contained an empty steel book along with the game in a standard MVC3 case (just swapped the disk and manual over).

Hopefully yours will arrive soon!

Anyone got a suggestion on the best place to buy a couple Sanwa joysticks for the MadCatz SFIV SE fightsticks?

I managed to grab two of these from Gamestop for $40 now but the 3 position works like shit. If I'm working the opposite side to go 421 I nail it about 90% of the time but I'm lucky if I get 10% execution on 623 moves. Wife has the same problem,, so I'm guessing its something wrong with these sticks 3 switch. No bigs because I got these with the intent of slowly replacing them with Sanwa parts as they wore out (and as we became more hardcore gamers) but the joysticks might need to go sooner than later due to this.

Switching between X-23 and Chris is making me retarded... I'll be good to go with Dorm in about a week's time, but either X or Chris are going to get dropped. Maybe both. Their inputs are just so fucking different...

All of Chris' moves feel backwards to. They just go against everything I've ever known. DP to throw nades? QCB to press? The fuck is this shit?

... I was watching a SRK Tutorial video and I did hear this right:

The longer your combo the harder it is to link combos? So in the beginning the moves instant chain, but after a few hits the timing then becomes stricter? That's pretty neat, just wanted to confirm that I understood that properly.

Online I mostly use Hulk / Wesker / Sentinel

But in player matches I use all sorts of teams really, doesn't matter much to me then :p.

Nice. I'm trying to main one team for now, I've settled on two Dorm/Zero... still looking for a third. I think it might be Deadpool.

Yeah, I threw in the towel when it came to Chris. I'm not very good at using him via the D-pad and I think one 'keepaway' is enough (Dormammu :D). I like him but... eh. I need to improve some more before I tackle him again, I barely get in use out of him in online matches, he is a little slower than I'd like..

is taskmaster's spidey swing punishable on block?

same question with ryu's tatsu

I tried punishing it (even pushblocking then punishing) but they always get their air H/low L out before i can get either stand or low L out.

It sucks because with my team (Dorm/Chris/X-23), he's got the most reliable damage output. But his shit is just funky... and not in a good way.

True, hulk is sick!

Still trying to decide on who I want to focus on using. I know I want to use Morrigan and that I don't really care for the huge/slow characters, but hrm. I guess I'll keep thinking about it.

This game is nuts, but so much fun! Even sucking at it as I currently do doesn't make it any less enjoyable. Wesker, Dr Doom and Akuma have been my main team so far, but I too am considering joining the church of Sentinel. He's got tricks for every situation it seems.

Is there something I'm not understanding about ranked battles? I'm ranked "Rookie" and the last three fights were "8th Lord" *8th Lord" and "7th Lord." I made sure my custom search was set to ranked "same," so, uh, what gives?

I assume rank battle rather than player battle will help me find people at my level but is that not how it is set up?

Damn the other three intro movies are sick! Any way to set those as standard ( probably not ) ?
There needs to be a setting to make "Gonna take you for a ride" the arcade mode music. I'm pissed it's not available.

... Noooooooooo!!1

Surprisingly haven't had too much of an issue with Sentinel online. Most (if not all) players my rank just spam the laser beam attack and/or that mini-sentinel carpet bombing attack. Haha, I faced a Sentinel player yesterday who was Lvl. 3 XF, instead trying to fight or run, I repeatedly swapped out characters, Lol. Everytime he was in-range of my current character, I did a hard swap -- He didn't have time to take advantage of his XF. I chalked that situation (Lmao) up to... the guy just sucked with Sentinel.

I've seen a lot more players immediately swap out for Sentinel after losing a match, it's disheartening. But Deadpool and Zero make quick work of them. Lol @ Ryu/Akuma/Sentinel matches... oh boy.

I love this game, but suddenly I'm losing just about every match I play online. Even to scrubs who keep spamming Deadpool's guns and almost every Dante I face. Any general tips? :( Or good counterpicks?

Try to super jump over the projectiles/beams.

Thinking I might wanna switch out She-Hulk, she's so horrible.

-Crappy crappy mobility
-Combo potential blooows
-All 3 supers blowwww.
-Runners stance suuucks
-shitty jumping moves (Come on, you could of given me a zangief dropkick atleast)

Only thing she really gots going is that slide of hers which even is an awesome kara to her throws.
Bwuahaha. I just got my ass handed to me sideways by a SheHulker who was running and flipping all around the place. Crappy Mobility? Her supers blow? Dude. Just wait till you run into a good She-Hulk. Just wait.

On another note: This is the first time I've posted in this thread since Tuesday. Heh, all my free time is spent playing the game instead of surfing GAF. Seems like I've been missing out on so much. DLC costumes already? Wot?

Played one match online and won, although I feel bad about it. I picked random characters and basically won by spamming Tenderizer by accident. I was trying to do other stuff but it just always turned into that move D:
