This game has gotten to the point in which I can't do shit and thus it's not even fun anymore.

I don't mind losing but c'mon getting air combo'd to death is just no fun to me.

I actually can say that I hate this game. When a game starts to piss me off, it's time to take time off from it.

So yep fuck this game
I've never been air combo'd to death (yet), but I know how you feel. You just have to practice more.

Yeah, what I meant to say is that I'm quitting the online mode for a while. It's just too frustrating to get owned by everybody and then if I do get a win it's a bullshit time-out win in which I feel like a dick.

So yeah, practice only and some arcade mode for me.

Arcade mode with fight request on works much better.

I wish your avatar went a little slower so I could actually read what it's saying.

Also, can't you get out of air combos by hitting S and the same direction the other player is hitting to switch characters with?

C'mon man, don't give up. Trust me, I rage like the Fist of the motherfucking North Star when I lose to shitty beginner teams (Dante/Ryu/Wolverine is the worst offender), but once I cool down I realize that it's MY fault that I'm losing. Of course then I start to rage at myself, but that's mainly due to severe psychological problems and...um, yeah. Anyway. MvC3 (and really most fighters in general) are the most rage inducing online games ever, but that's just part of the package.

Lol, my current team is entirely intermediate rushdowns.
X-23 / Spider-man / Zero
They're not really going to be my team when I actually start playing for-realsies, just characters who I want to be good with when I do start looking for synergy.

You know we really should set up training sessions for newer players. If only there was spectating. Cmon Capcom. . .

i'd be up for being trained , for the last 2 days i think the part of my brain that rages was fatigued but now it's well rested and my rage is back a full force :(

Tron Bonne is an advanced character? I thought she was pretty straightforward. Use the aerial Servbots to set up obstacles, use aerial drill to harass the opponent since it's pretty much safe on block, and use the lockdown projectile to get a free Lunch Rush Hyper.

Of course, for me that plan fails with "Aerial Drill". Jump -> Reverse DP is not something I can pull off reliably enough, yet. If I could, I'd play a lot more Zero, too.

Still liking my Cap/Morrigan/Felicia team, but I kind of wish I had a ranged hyper to punish fullscreen whiffs with. Finishing Shower isn't good at tha- It's just nw I realize that Morrigan has exactly what I'm asking for in the Shadow Servant Hyper. DP+Two Attacks. An Astral Vision fireball war is a lot of fun with Morrigan, though. They counter the real projectile with a projectile of their own, and get hit in the back. Gotta love it.

I really need to remember all my tools at the same time in this game. It gets really confusing, really fast. I need to remember the specials, hypers and quirks of three different characters, consider my meter use, have good execution, keep X-Factor in mind, remember that I can pushblock, and still have enough overview to be able to play the opponent.

MvC3 is pretty much a case of sensory overload. I think getting used to that is the most important skill you can get in this game. I think that's why the things I can do in Training just won't work for real. I don't have to worry about anything but my execution technique and timing in training.

I had a horrible, horrible day in this today... Almost thought about running to the store and getting a new pad. I've been through 3 different controllers for my PS3 and I've only had it for about 3 months.

I'm up for anyone playing Sentinel against me so that I may learn how to predict when he does his super armour low trolling attack into ownage combo

Good days and bad days, man. Good days and bad. I had a horrible night last night, then turned around and had a great morning today.

Then again, why am I telling you this? You most assuredly have more experience than I do. :lol

Sentinel makes me angry. That fucking rocket punch L with hsf followed by the ball of energy hyper is enough fo fuck anyone's shit up and it's not really hard to pull off either.

I have yet to fight a Hsien-Ko or Joe online yet. :|

Yeah same here... starting to hate way too many things. I'm thinking of going back to SF with my head down and see if she will take me back ;p!

I'd be lying if I said that the speed of the game didn't fuck with me from time to time.

It seemed like I just couldn't stop whiffing with Dorm. Also, I've (apparently) got a real bad habit of holding down buttons as its ruining my play with Zero. :(

Haggar/ chun/ doom

Once i start my air pipe attempts with chun lightning legs as an assist or doom rocks flying across the screen that chip adds up quickly.

Also once that air pipe hits you its time to go for a ride on the pain train. Haggar don't play that.

U on 360 or Ps3?

Ive kinda settled on dante and dorm. Who would go well with them?

Personally I use morrigan and akuma.

Either way, it's Team Demon. ;)

Dante (Jam Session)
Dormammu (Dark Hole)
Morrigan (Shadow Blade) | Akuma (Tatsu)

I was looking for an assist that I could use like dat50sent's low to high diagonal sent force assist for unblockable setups (someone from GAF was doing this with sent and Wesker's srk.L). I also thought of changing Morri/Akuma out for Ammy, but I just don't like how Ammy feels... so I can't justify her for cold star. The only other besides Ammy and Sent that came to mind was potentially Doom or Iron Man and I don't like those two either.

If anyone has suggestions on a third that I could try out for an unblockable teleport mixup, I'd be willing to slot them in.

Guess it took less than a week, all my friends list is back on sf. Going to do the same, in the long run just don't see this game lasting 10 years... they made combos way too easy to make games interesting in the long run and the lack of footsies just kills it for me...

I don't think the combos are any harder than MVC2, and the footsies are about the same. I don't know what to say, this is pretty much a versus game.

I don't think Capcom's intention was to make this game last 10 years. It's not like they wanted to wait that long between the release of MvC2 and 3. O_o

edit: damn typo.

That's a shame to hear. I get my ass kicked online often too, but I've managed to find a few even opponents (I went 6-3 against one guy) and have a friend at my level. I suck too, so if you have the 360 version, we could play. It would boost your confidence!
Why is all of scrub GAF on 360? Did I get the wrong version?

Umm you should of known the game was going to be like this before you dropped cash on it -.-

Plenty of guys who claim to be scrubs and then bounce my ass all around the screen you mean. Maybe there needs to be a term for those of us who can barely do DP's and QCF's.

Not really, I like to play fighters even though I suck at them. Shit I'm still horrible at SSFIV but I still have fun with it even when I get perfected. It's just that in here I feel like it's almost out of my control at times ( Seriously one match I swear dude didn't allow me to touch the ground once with his Dante) I understand that I have to get better but it's just frustrating as hell right now that motivating myself to do so is hard.

I'll get back to it but just venting.

im ready to go back in time and destroy every copy of dmc just so dante wouldn't be in this game.

The thing is my own Dante can't do shit so it's like everyone else is pulling out new shit everytime.

Shit is crazy.

I guess i was expecting something different, just not for me. Maybe the extreme damage and x factor is not pulling in its favor but don't feel like learning the ins and out. Plus there was only 3 chars I felt good vibe with and their synergy was not the best.

At least I gave it a go...

Really, go into mission mode and do basic combos, it helps a lot. Also playing against someone much better than you isn't any benefit if you don't know what is going on. Just go into player matches and search for beginners, I guarantee it won't be as frustrating.

Out of curiosity, why Shadow Blade instead of Dark Harmonizer? Is it really more useful than a meter boost?

I've been experimenting with Morrigan lately but I haven't decided if I want to stick with her or not. Usually I just abuse the hell out of Astral Vision.

the hype machine has no remorse, no pity, no regrets and no refunds.

EDIT: Also, Ammy's cold star goes with everything! :P

so alright last night i saw the true ultimate power of modok.

so i roast this dude with my boy magneto and then run into him again on ranked. he picks modok, doom and someone else that i forget cuz i didnt get past modok.

he goes fullscreen right away, puts up a barrier, starts shootin beamz and calling doom missiles. he did this constantly and I couldnt get past it. so funny. I felt like such an idiot but not sure how to counter it right now.

one other match was funny too. this one guy ended up killin off my boy magneto just as i called iron man off screen. random ass uni beam comes out of nowhere and kills him. haha

If anyone wants to be awesome to help a GAFer with learning to basics of a fighter add me on PSN. I've grown to love this game, I just need to become better at it and learn the do's and don't's
