I've been playing with skrull, haggar, sentinel. I like ammy, with her whip weapon and ice projectiles, but sentinel adds so much that it's hard to justify bringing her.

Any tips? I'm really terrible at this game. Just lost to a team in arcade mode on normal difficulty. Although I went 3-0 against some guy online too (with sentinel and pipe spamming).

I like skrull but always accidentally trigger Tenderizer when I've used him online.

Ice projectile one. She's up high so she doesn't get punished much, and that damn ice has such a nice angle so it always catches me.

I've been obsessed with the VS. series for well over a decade now. It's been a very difficult transition to MvC3 from MvC2 for me, but I'm getting there.

And I hope Capcom isn't reading this, but I will pretty much buy whatever DLC becomes available for this game.

I just realized that Ammy is the only character that I can do real damage on with my team rofl. Also, Sentinel is a piece of crap, hate that guy. D:
 
Man, been making comebacks with Magneto all day, even chewed through all three of some dude's characters after he ran all over my Sent/Iron Man. Rushdown all day every day.

Tell me about it. I hate him if he's either on the screen or as an assist. Ticks me off every single time.

Do the first five or so missions (the easy ones) with each character to get a feel for their fighting styles. Some will appeal to you more than others. Right now I can't get enough of Dante, Wesker, and Chun-Li. Ryu's a lot of fun too, and with his straightforward combos seems more beginner friendly than most other characters.

Anyone else seem to have problems with characters being out of view on the extreme left/right side of their tv screen? Screen adjustment doesn't seem to allow you to adjust x axis.
 
There should be a specific insta-ban from mvc3 option for people who send messages to other players about how they are apparently cheap fighting with <insert character name here>.....

Seriously just shut up and play.

lol i've gotten a couple of those and some from people using sentinel, magneto and other beam spammers. they get pissed because they are crushed under the might of haggars pipe.
 
Haha mine was for some dude complaining about how i took out two characters with a combination of chun li kicks and hypers. Even though he still won he still felt the need to call me cheap?

This. I don't care what I got to do in a match to win. If you cant stop me from winning I dont care if its cause Im good at one character, a whole team, one combo or spam. I won and thats the point. If you don't understand that in a versus game then you probably aren't mature enough to play outside of friends who will let you win on occasion for your egos sake.

In other words all is fair.

I almost had five ranked wins in a row, but I barely got beaten by a sliver of health by someone that was also on a 4 game streak. Booooo.

Something like this happened to me too, although instead of berating me, the guy sent a PSN message giving me some tips on how I could improve with Wesker and thanking me for a good match. Seemed like a really cool guy.
 
I have been enjoying MvC3 on my Vewlix clone, and it is absolutely glorious:

Thor 100% combos. SO GOOD.

starter ground combo-->M mighty smash-->MHS-->MMHS-->H mighty smash-->mighty hurricane-->S-->MMH-->mighty strike-->mighty tornado.

SO GOOD.
 
is there an easy way to send somebody a message after playing them? sometimes i want to give them props but i don't feel like typing in their name and sending a message. is there some way i can press something and have their name already on there and i just have to send a message?

PSN or XBL? On PSN there's the "Players Met" menu on the XMB.

This guy responded with and i quote, "Many people cheap fight with chun li, and many fail just like you, let me beating you be a lesson to you."

Seriously I picture this guy eating Cheetos puffs in a basement somewhere talking on his xbox headset.

XBOX 360 GAF PLAYERS


To play with other GAF users with 360s, this is the method we'll be using:

Add the Gamertag "GAF MvC3" to your friends list.

From here, you can select the gamertag in your friends list on your 360, cycle right into their "Personal Profile" and select "View Friends."

From there, you can see all the other Gaffers that have added this GAF MvC3 gamertag, making it function as a hub where you can send invites for MvC3 games to each other and the full shenanigans.

XBL GAF has an IRC channel for anyone looking to organize messages.

I vowed never to play Sentinel either (I never play Sagat on SF) but when I went to Ranked mode he stayed with me for the first hundred or so matches.

My main goal is to figure out how to beat Sentinel with everyone. Nothing is worse than killing 2 characters, Sentinel comes out and he kills your whole team off of one mistake.

I feel bad that Thor was actually the first Marvel character I wanted to try out but then I fell off the bandwagon. :(
