Watching projectile spam is fine, it's everyone else that can't deal with it that are getting hit by random supers that make it a boring combination.
 
Whats the proper way to use Doom other than the occasional projectile and then a face beating when they are in the corner? His projectiles generate so muuuuch meter though.

And when peeps teleport you got use the magnetic projectile thing to force em out. DO IT.

Raw tags are unsafe. should be dhcing or air exchanging them in. Also you can counter exchange.

Guile can be such a pain, good thing people hardly use him. Most don't spam it non stop though, and do some good combos. With ryu and the others, you can fa and move past them, or whatever and they can't really lock you down for most of the fight with projectiles.

Don't forget dhalsim should count his limbs as projectile spam/zoning :D

You make it sound like there's no way around projectile zoning, lol. SFIV is just zoning unless you play one of the few rush down characters. Come on now.

That's not what I meant. Having to hold the button to raw tag someone in is causing me pain.
 
So, a question for you all:

What is it about MvC3 that makes me enjoy it, whereas I've always considered myself to dislike:
  • Chain Combos
  • Air Combos
  • Air Dashes
  • Fast Games
  • Motion Characters
  • The A/B/C/D button format

Is the game as scrubby as people say, that I can finally win in it, versus other versus games or "Anime" games, where I get my ass kicked?

Is it the fanboy factor of the characters?

I am suddenly confused about where my fighting interests lie.

Um, aren't chain combos in every game? Not really a fighting game if there are no combos...

you can always get wins in the first couple of weeks of a new game's release.

after that? might have a problem.

Well, most 3D fighters have some of that stuff too. So he likes no games at all.
 
Anyone notice there are license titles for "event #1" through "event #40".

I have none of them unlocked, so I have NO clue what they're for and I'm curious.

And here I was feeling bad for attempting to spam and tried to inch closer to opponents. Guess I should have been doing that all alone.
 
You can air pipe twice even if you started the air combo with the pipe. I do it all the time. For some reason stream commentators don't know that. Keep saying he cant lay the pipe after starting the combo with the pipe.

Air pipe -> S-> M ->M -> air pipe-> S definitely works

Everyone is Yipes, you always feel like you're one combo away from winning (and you always are). It feels good to do massively damaging combos and to make huge comebacks, both of which are extremely present in this game.

Maybe you like winning?
 
Game isn't scrubby its just new. People are rage flaming the game because they are boss at other fighters they've studied like sf4 leading into ss4. This game however is NOT mvc2 style and it's got players raging that they see people winning against them using spam and tactics that are either random or suicide in mvc2.

The fact is that these people just are frustrated that they haven't studied the game enough to level up their tactics. This game is mad balanced and advanced in areas but the developers left easy to learn high gain low risk moves in for players to be able to pick up on for almost every character so that it would be able to keep new players hooked long enough to learn pro stuff.

Its crazy good how well this game was set up for all levels of play.
I know I felt like a damned supergenius when I dash canceled the pipe on Haggar then dashed in and grappled him. Who'd have thought jump grapples on the biggest jump grappler in the game would be the only way to take on his pipe.

This kind of stuff is what I'm talking about though. Pipe hype is major and its spammed like crazy since last weeks stream, but now I'm seeing people LEARN from it. Now the game is showing some serious depth.

Not scrubby at all. This game is precision balanced like somekind of damned supermachine.
 
Is anyone else's in-game friends list not updating? The wins and loss stats stay at 0 and everyone's tittle and icon are set to default with me.
 
I also didn't (still don't) like 3D fighters.

By "Chain Combos" I mean as the focus, as opposed to links.

I'm probably confused about my terms though.

I considered myself before MvC3 to only like 3S,CvS2, and to a lesser extent SSFIV.

That's the "style" I liked, which is notably different form the "style" of MvC3, to simplify what I meant.

That's not really gonna work with Phoenixes that know what they're doing. She has crazy rushdown and mobility even without DP so if there are like 20 pseudo-seconds on the clock you're gonna get smacked eventually.
