Man.. the comic/art book is kinda crappy isn't it? It's like an advertisement for the game.. like a bad FCBD comic. Only you only get it if you already have bought the most expensive version of the game, so it really serves no purpose.

I guess you really need Sentinel to keep up with high-level. Even Buktooth himself had problems getting in on Sent w/ his Chun/Wesker/Doom team and didn't make grand finals.

Those grand finals were really boring too.

Anyone using Sentinel at a high level is basically looking at a poke war... it only takes one hit confirm to combo 3 or 4 hits into the L rocket punch, HSF, then the spark ball hyper and kill most players. Look at what happened in the Seattle finals the other day with both teams using Magneto/Sent...

Hell, I hate using dat50sent... hate it... but I played a GAFer the other day who was using Wesker/Sent/x and fucking me up with the nasty SF assist while teleporting behind me with Wesker. I wanted to see how nasty it was or hard to set up for an average player like me, so I used it in a room of friends last night and just murdered them. It was a massacre.

/Edit: wrong tourney.

Also, the Sixaxis pad is miles better than the DS3 pad...

I don't understand this at all. I have both sitting in front of me right now and I can't tell any difference. Personally I think its all in the head because the d-pad feels exactly the same on both.

They were both doing some really wicked stuff. But as soon as one of them turned to X-Factor Sentinel, I pretty much stopped the video. zzzzzz

There was definetly some good magneto and ammy play. Shame that it almost always came down to whose x-factor sent got the first hit in the end.

I'm in love with this game. Really liking the different characters and the feel of the game (it's my first time seriously playing a vs. game). Though I kind of wished they would have split up x-factor's components.

If your using it while on offense you gain the speed + damage boost but you lose your red life and if you activate it while blocking you gain your red life back + no chip damage. That's how I would've liked it but we'll see how things will work out over time.

My copy is at the post depot quite literally 10 minutes from me... but I believe it wasn't processed to be delivered today, so now I gotta wait a whole other day >.<

I'm pretty confident in the Sentinel match up with any of my 3 characters from my team. I use Zero, Chris, and Deadpool. Any of them can hold their own against Sent, and if all 3 are out against him they completely destroy him.

Zero is a really effective character to get in on and start up a massive damage combo on him. The risk is that Zero has low health, so only have him on point against Sent IF sent isn't locked with 2 bars of hyper or more. If he's on 1 or less you can play risky.

Zero's QCB + M is a great way to cover the screen as well as his DP motion + M. You can use Chris machine gun assist to handle the ground while you take into come from the air. If you are coming in close from the air just do a J. H with Zero while calling in Deadpool to Katana rama him from the low.

People need to start finding what works against Sentinel with their current team. Don't be afraid to X factor and burn your meter to destroy him. Odds are without Sentinel the rest of their team is shit, or at least not enough to handle what you are capable of.

If you ever start a combo string on Sentinel take it as your 1 shot to make it count and go all out on him.

You're really only screwed against Sentinel if you aren't thinking what your team can do against him.

Translated to understandable notation: L(ight), M(edium), H(ard), S(pecial), [hold up to super jump to the opponent], jumping M, Jumping H, qcf (quarter circle forward, fireball motion) + L, (this takes you back to the ground), H, S, jumping M, Jumping M, Jumping H, qcf+H, guns super.

Just say no to Japanese notation.

I'm having a hard time landing the H and S after qcf+L takes me back to the ground. What is the timing for this? Is the qcf+L even meant to connect with the opponent or is it meant to be used as a way to get Dante to the ground faster than the falling opponent?

Dpad ?
I play with the analog stick. DS3 Analog Stick > *

This game needs spectator mode badly. I will threaten Capcom with the Arab Revolution showing up on their doorstep if they don't put it in. One Week.

I dreamt last night that Bayonetta was in this game.

Seriously they should have put her in, female character that has as many moves as Dante.

Would of been SO SICK!?@!?

I currently lack a projectile assist, so that hurts.
I normally play Dante/Dormammu/Morrigan(Akuma).

What normally happens is I start trying to get in on the scrubby Sents because they stay full screen and use H or d.H to beam. As I try to get in, since none of my assists work full screen, I usually get caught and 1 teammate goes down. Now it's only 2 vs. Sent. And the massacre starts. Same way. :|

I've recently started checking out Hsien-Ko as I'm told her gold armor pendulum assist wrecks Sent and I originally wanted to play her, but I didn't like her moveset and wasn't grat at using her. Short of using someone else I don't like for their assist (Iron Man, Dr. Doom, Ammy, Sent) I'm kind of out of sorts for how to counter.

I've thought about replacing Morrigan/Akuma with Wesker as well, but his teleports are also no sure way to combat full screen Sent keep away.

You should call and see if you can pick it up. If not, nothing lost, if so, mvc3 one day early.

Dante and Dorm have teleports man. Unsure if Morrigan does, but Dante's is great.

She's Sega, not Capcom (and she's got a much bigger moveset than Dante).

Yeah the amount of cheapness online makes me want to recruit a character with teleport. With Spidey I can manage to get over most stuff if I'm lucky but certain ones like sentinel mouth lasers can still catch me easy.

Dante's teleport is ridiculously useful....

I still can't believe they didn't include MGS1 Snake.

I wasn't a MvC2 head, but from what I gathered certain teams worked well because of what the characters did for each other. Maybe whatever the team you are trying to stick together just aren't helping each other in the right ways.

Dormammu can fly so that is probably your best way to get in. Dante or Morrigan will need some assist that can deal with a projectile while Dorm floats over, or you can risk a fly in, and once you get close block to get him to whiff something that is unsafe which a lot of Sent's moves are----tons of recovery time most characters can punish if you are fast.

I'll be honest that I think Dorm is one of the worst characters in the game from the time I've dabbled. His usefulness is as just a hyper use character since he lacks a lot of useful tools when being put on point.

Dante with his 300000 moves should have plenty of answers to Sentinel---like teleport or charging up his gauntlet to do the 5 projectiles at once while you dash in.

Set a computer to do doing nothing but Hard then crouch hard with sentinel. From there practice approaches.

Damnit Corky where abouts are you? You're in need of a seriously good piping...

Would EuroGAF be interested in my setting up a Euro Gamertag if there isn't already one? Only ever seem to see US guys on the main one and I don't trust this game with cross Atlantic play.

Wait for Sega vs Capcom I guess. If Street Fighter X tekken can happen, this might eventually. :P

qcf+L needs to hit. You can take it all kinda slow. You can also omit the H after the qcf+L and just go straight to S. It's probably easier that way and I dunno if it makes that much of a difference, damage-wise.

I'm in limbo, sooo bored out of my fucking skull but I can't muster the energy to play something right now :(, feel my bi-montly wave of depression sweeping over me.

I have yet to fight one other Dorm online. He certainly isn't very popular. I think he's solid, just super slow - do others think he's this bad? I'm curious now.

I forget who I was playing on GAF, but I usually took out his other two members losing at most one person, but then Sentinel would stonewall me everytime. I need 4 regular ammy combos just to kill him because he has so much health and that's under the assumption that he doesn't get a lucky sweep on me. ._. just going to need to practice against computer Sent, lol.

SEE! This man sees the potential!!

Anyways I'm at work right now, listening to the Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 OST while reading the Strategy guide.

Still haven't decided on my third yet to my Ammy Hulk team

Checked out Chris and Trish last night. Whose next in my auditions. What say you Morrigan players?

I like Super Skrull but I find it annoying that Tenderizer is mapped to the same button multiple times rather than a motion. Too many times I accidentally press it too fast and throw out an unwanted Tenderizer. -_-

Yeah with him you can be pretty slow with the m, m , h, s air combo and it'll still register fine.

I just can't for the life of me see what he brings to the table or a team dynamic other than his QCF Hyper beam. He can fly but it feels sluggish. His movement on ground is awful. He doesn't have long strings he can do on the ground while someone is blocking to keep pressure on. He seems to have high recovery on all his moves. His assists aren't spectacular either, and I'm pretty sure his meter building is average at best.

He's cool looking as hell though. :D

@Ultimoo

I love SuperSkrull and I'd drop Chris off my team if it wasn't for the case that tenderizer is like you said so easy to activate on accident. I can be a bit of a masher in this game with my team since none of my 3 require any god like inputs timing.

Akuma is a great anti-Sent.

Wesker? Eh, to easy to accidentally teleport into a super armor move and get blown up. Another great anti-Sent is Phoenix.

Dante and Dorm have teleports man. Unsure if Morrigan does, but Dante's is great.

Oh, I know -- but once you do that and they block (I have zero luck hitting out of dante's teleport most of the time), you're left unsafe for a punish... and if Sentinel touches Dante, he's pretty much done, so long as the Sent isn't a total scrub.

Infinite j.tatsu.H if you can manage.

His QCF chaotic flame is a nasty ass punish.
If you can hit with f.H projectile, you can easily combo into dark hole H and then qcf H followed by whatever.
His df.H flame carpet is great for keep out. Add a teleport for mixup and purification assist if you're not using Dante's jam session and he's pretty solid.
