Okay so just got the game, and the biggest frustrating thing for me right now... what is the proper button layout for a stick? NOTHING feels right.

Here's the biggest problem, if this game is going to be a 4-button fighter (L M H S), then I just want to use the four buttons closest to the joystick... but I can't freaking tag or call assist unless I hit another specific button. That means that I need six buttons, okay... for some reason having the keys like this:

L M H
S A1 A2

... just doesn't feel right when preforming quick combos.

I also tried this:

L M A1
H S A2

and had mixed success.

I think the Default setup does this:
L M A1 A2
H S

on a stick when I first started playing, and that felt weird because I felt like I had to reach far to hit that A2 button.

I dunno, nothing feels right. Anyone have any advice? I feel like I've tried a lot of different custom setups for the buttons and I guess I just need to stick to ONE that's going to work.

Elektra has 0% votes haha.

Hey man, people love the 90's alright?
I'd vote for Venom. :(
The side of the auto shop on my old block had graffiti art of Venom. It was pretty massive(maybe 15X25 ft) and awesome until some kids came out of nowhere and sprayed over it.

They made some emo female gargoyle...

:(

Revoted.

Changed Emma Frost to new entry Moon Knight.
I decided to change my vote from Dr. Strange to Squirrel girl. He'll probably get enough votes
to be considered and he did show up in an ending. My capcom votes stayed the same.

voted for Green Goblin;

Spider-Man villains are the best villains in the classical Marvel sense;

I hope the DLC of Doctor Octopus to be true.

Please vote for Green Goblin so I can have my Spidey, Gobby, Doc Ock team

Thinking the exact same thing. That team would be mine too.

@Kaijima: I have to agree, especially about the movie-game trend and how it benefits from shallow criticism.

Actually I think it is more of a matter of being experienced than being outright good(the former causes you to be the latter). I would be very surprised if the typical reviewer had played anything more than SF4 and MvC3... maybe Blazblue, in the last 5 years. I would be even more surprised if they ever came to deeply understand the systems in any one of them. (They might have never had the time really, jumping game to game. Having to play so many forgettable and bad games ever year might even make you dumb!)

EDIT: I think Dr. Strange and Gene would make great characters(great movesets), fanboyism for their comics and games aside. That is what is most important to me when it comes to adding characters. So naturally characters like Machine Man, Squirrel Girl, and Ghost Rider also appeal to me.

Machine Man would be awesome. Best character in Nextwave.

More Shotos with a full harem win pose and the ability to transform everyone into sexy ( or sexier?) ladies for Midnight Bliss no less.

Ken can die in a fire but Demitri reigns supreme!

Thats why he didnt get in though.

Saw in the arcade stick thread that the Real Arcade Pro EX is on sale at Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001GDONZS/?tag=neogaf0e-20

That thread seems to be pretty slow moving, though, so I figured I'd sale here; is it pretty good for the money sans modification? MVC3 is the first fighter I've picked up this gen so I'm thinking of grabbing one or two (will likely also get MK when it comes out). Will also use on PC if it's not much trouble.

That's the default, and what everyone uses.

Is it me that Shuma seem to be nice counter to projectiles spammers since he can become ball and get across to other side of stage.

I wonder what his dash goes under.

It's merely ok. The stick is a Sanwa JLF, but the buttons are Hori. At this point I'd expect to spend around $100 for a full Sanwa/Seimitsu stick so it's not an amazing deal but it's not bad either if you don't want to wait for something better. The buttons would be easy to swap out too if you don't mind a very little bit of work (and ~$3 per button).

The first layout you listed is the correct layout for this game. It's about the only layout that makes sense for people that aren't just too ingrained in MvC2 to try something else. Combos are fine and flow in a logical manner from one button to the next. The only complaint anybody should have about the layout is the placement of the A1 button, so if that layout isn't working for you then you're just going to have to find your own wacky layout based completely on personal preference.

IIRC, the intended defaults are

- type A for standard gamepads
- type B for MadCatz
- type Y for Hori

Another vid this time covering She-Hulk DHC against Dark Phoenix.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qy2W4Iin8u0

After making this I realized a bigger threat is Sent/She-Hulk DHC in the corner. Which can create a very interesting 50/50. I'll leave that to someone else to look into though.

Was able to set this up so she can't even airdash out of it midscreen. Mashing f+h still gets her out though.

For some reason the timing seems to be different if you hit her while she's crouching.

I don't mind ultimately doing some work, I just probably won't do it for a while. Also wouldn't mind ultimately switching out the solid black for a graphic of some sort.

So.. I can't complete the gallery unless I have Shuma and Jill... is that correct?
You can get 100% as-is. If you're missing a character's entry it might be Galactus. You have to lose on the final stage and choose not to continue in order to unlock his stuff.

I have galactus already.. I'll check the list again.

A marvel character that I think would be cool is Bullseye. He'd obviously be a projectile spammer but he could use playing cards, paper airplanes, pencils, toothpicks, spit.

Haha, yes. Voted for Squirel Girl. She actually seems to be doing pretty well in the poll so far.
Yeah, I've refreshed it a couple of times and I'm surprised to see that she is holding her own. I'm pissed off that Strider has been bumped down to third place though. I should have dropped the Jin vote for Strider instead...

If Strider does not make it as DLC I'll blame Phoenix Wright fans.
