You know what would be awesome is that each character has a "pair" that they associate with and could perform unique moves only with that character. Obviously you can't make it too good, but it's an idea to add variety.
I remember my mind being blown when you picked Ryu/Ken in X-Men vs Street Fighter, Ken can do a Shinku Hadoken, but ONLY when paired with Ryu. I think this was the only instance of an unique pairing.

I honestly didn't know about this until I watched a super compilation video a few days ago. No joke! You can do it in MSH vs SF too.
But anyway, having special supers for certain characters would be neat. SNK did something like that for NeoGeo Battle Coliseum. The inputs and requirements were crazy as I recall (you had to land certain moves or something like that first)
I too made a roster:

The original plan was to have the same number of characters of UMvC3 with half of the cast returning. Once I realized no reasonable Capcom roster would actually satisfy me I stopped myself at 6 extra characters, without any thought given to the 3 Marvel ones. I made a point to have 3 villains on both sides though.
I actually want like 7 characters out of these!
Pretty sure that's the main reason Shuma-Gorath caught the eyes of the Japanese designers![]()
I LOVE this roster. My only complaint would be I wish TvC/Classic Roll was on there somewhere (Yeah I know "b-but that would be FOUR Mega Man characters!"). Not only is she a fun character but she always stood out in MvC1 for having a vocal theme which I'd really like to see return in a Marvel game (and hey it's not like they can't use an English version of the theme). That makes me wonder though. Giving Deadpool and X23 vocal themes in MvC3 was a nice surprise (Deadpool's is just weird), I wonder if there'll be a new character or two that'll get a vocal theme.
