Honestly, characters like Thanos and Sentry feel like pretty boring inclusions to me from a gameplay perspective. Like, I get it, a lot of people are only really interested so they can buy it and look at the pretty Marvel characters on the screen, but most characters whose main powers are some combination of super strength, super stamina, energy projection, telekinesis feel like they need some sort of gimmick to make them stand out.
I think badass animation can turn a pretty basic moveset into someone cool/fun to play, like Nova in MvC3 (the red health thing barely made a dent in the metagame), but with a series of characters of this sort (and so far, Captain Marvel doesn't look like she has anything very unique gameplay wise, but it's too early to tell) I don't want the roster to suffer gameplay-wise. Cosmic Marvel is especially shitty in this regard because everyone's stats are cranked to 11 and the main actors have various permutations of those same abilities. I remember fake 4chan rumours about Nova for MvC3 that said he'd have a gold crackle every time he'd do moves and would be able to open up and manipulate stargates on the stage and that was far more complicated and unique than what we got.
