Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster Discussion Thread

Capcom would have told us if there were a big announcement during Final Round.

The announcers would tell us "And, when top 8 is over, be sure to stick around!" like they've done in the past.

I didn't even bother with that shit because I played it last year in Japan

WACK

The biggest comedy about T7 at PAX was that the line to play was an hour long...but the game was also at the Dell booth and went untouched for the entire weekend. Anytime I felt like playing Tekken, I just went to Dell and ran the table.

How did to look and run at the dell booth btw? 4K Ultra?

Naw. It was used to show off their gaming laptops. Still looked good. Loads were fucking long...4k/30 I believe.

Those displays aren't great.

Wow, they had Tekken running at 30fps? No wonder there were no lines, lol.

Shame about the load times. I wonder if it's a UE4 thing? SFV has long loads too.

Injustice 2 is way faster in comparison but that's supposed to be UE3 IIRC.

Can't you up SFV's load times by cranking the menu framerate up to 255fps?

Its not a UE4 thing. Tons of UE4 games have short load times. Most likely has to do with some antiquated load stack process JP programmers are using. Could be optimized for better load times.

Also, for the people expecting a new look at the game, take into consideration the fact that the visuals (which were no where near final anyway) were being heavily shit on, I can imagine they don't want to show the game again until its visual package is far ahead in production than it was last time, similar to what happened with SFV. There really isn't any reason to show it earlier than E3. All signs point to that being when we'll see the game pop up again. Keep in mind, they haven't even shown us an actual match of the game yet.

There's nothing better to get you hyped for all this no news than She Hulks theme from MVC3.

The best MVC3 theme
That's a funny way to spell Dr. Strange's theme.

MvC3's character themes are so weird, quality wise. Some of the remixes of previous themes are kind of ass (Iron Man, Cap, Ryu, Morrigan and Viewtiful Joe come to mind), some of them are actually pretty great (Chris, Jill, Storm, Spider Man and Hulk, for example) and then the themes for the Ultimate additions are all pretty great across the board.

SFIV kind of had a weird trajectory too. The music steadily got better across the board from arcade vanilla to the consile release, to Super, AE, etc.

It could have been worse for Tekken 7. Apparently older T7 builds' load times were around a minute (correct me if I'm wrong). If nothing else, they've made progress.

I'm honestly more curious to see SFV's arcade release in terms of load times.

Oh yeah I forgot about that mod. Load times are artificial af
I'd imagine that doing that would be a bit too much for the PS4 to handle. But they could do some other changes, like changing the long pre-match music, to accommodate the potential change. I think that it's artificially there for those watching it on streams & wanting to read the bios.

Looks like I need to get an E3 countdown started.

You make good points. It'd be nice if we at least got artwork, though.

For those who care, it looks like Sam Wilson is gonna be Falcon, again.

Why does Hercules have a scouter?

"Hold! Thine power level exceeds 9000!"

That Mockingbird costume though.....soooo much better than her previous one.

MCU falcon design is the best falcon design in my opinion.

Daigo vs Justin to celebrate the Iron Fist premiere? That must mean one thing
Justin Wong playing Iron Fist again! What, you expecting a reveal? Hah.

maybe he'll play that weird Iron Fist/Felicia/Spider-man team

Hercules embraced tech & was generally starting to clean up his act during the short-lived Dan Abnett run. Mark Waid continued with said character development, picking up where Abnett left off.

Well, I was just wondering what that was? Is it actually a power sensing device?

Which run was that collected in? Hadn't read Herc since Planet Hulk.

Mark Waid writing Herc sounds like a dream. I'm surprised at myself for not knowing about it.

Between the shit I've seen in Blaz Blue CF and Killer Instinct character movesets MVCI has some big shoes to fill in the crazy moveset departments. Hopefully they deliver again on this front like with MODOK, Frank West, Vergil and all the other crazies. Still staggered by the Shin Hisako breakdown. Rapidslashes that launcher, traveling ground command grab projectile thing, teleport dash that homes in on spirit orbs she can place or curse you with, and any attacks of hers that hit an orb create a big ass projectile that moves slow in various directions that beats every projectile in the game. That coupled with fasted dash speed, and Vergil-like huge normals has me just eager to see MVCI create another insane monster like this.

Magik could probably pull off a moveset like Shin Hisako's pretty easily. Its definitely a moveset so bullshit I immediately thought it would be a perfect fit for marvel.

I had a weird ass dream the other night there was a new trailer revealing two new characters: Wolverine and Bone-Claw Wolverine. And I was really fucking excited about it cause at least it's better than NOTHING. You know you're setting the bar low when I'm disappointed to wake up from fucking Bone-Claw Wolverine.

that's a hilarious dream and sounds like a Capcom-ass move anyway, lol

Bone Claw Wolverine getting in would possibly mean we'd be getting a large roster--I'm okay with that lol. I'll be salty as hell of it were the opposite though haha.

Capcom has been pretty chatty recently. The Ninja Theory and Dontnod "nailing Capcom's Dna" makes me wonder at Nilin's chances for getting into MvCi.

Capcom seems to be pretty cool with Disney. They need to relish MVc1 and 2 on 360/PS3 and add them to BC & PSnow already
If I recall, DuckTales Remastered did well enough for Disney to revive the show (not sure if it was the only reason, but I remember it being one of them). No surprise that they're now getting Capcom to do a collection of them. It would have been nice is DuckTales 2 got a remaster like DuckTales 1, though that may be kinda hard now with Alan Young's unfortunate passing (unless they went with the new cast, which I wouldn't mind considering that David Tennant sounds like he'll do a great job.....& he's actually Scottish).

IF Capcom wants some of their new IPs represented then Nilin and Asura seem like a good choice. They could represent the early-mid 2010s.

Meanwhile this thread woke me to the glory that would be Howard the Duck with a Scrooge playstyle.

Nilin I think would be cool to see. Beef up the female side of the roster, and give us a cool character to boot. I actually would love to see a lot of those forgotten characters from last gen in MVCI.

Except for the dark void guy.

Whens the next event where they are likely to announce something? Didn't Pax and FRXX pass without any news? I was really expecting an announcement at pax

Thinking it's more likely that we'll get more of an Injustice 2-styled information blowout rather than event-specific character reveals since we're supposed to be getting the game in about 6-8 months from now if it's still on target for 2017.

nothing from that jwong v daigo thing either. Another one bites the dust :3

Did they say there wouldn't be? Is it over? Can't watch at the moment.

Its interesting that Netflix is showcasing it and Marvel is sponsoring it, I think? Will Marvel get involved in the FGC (sponsored tournaments, pot bonuses) for MVCI? I don't think they ever had much of a presence with MVC3

I hope Daigo goes "this game is trash" after this bodying

:3

Yipes said Marvel has their eye on Esports and will look to organize their own personal CPT like tournament for Infinite.
