When we have the games, one will have X number of characters, the other will have Y number of characters. When you are deep in playing games, are you really thinking "well these models are brand new so I dont mind if its bad"?

Im not saying DBZF will be bad btw lol, I've already said its literally a dream game for me. But in a tournament setting, in a match at home, what does it matter if its reused assets or not?

Thats my big issue with all this, but I still maintain that some people are deadset on shitting on the game from day one, and they will continue to shit on the game no matter how good (or not) it ends up being.

And the craziest thing is, this divide of "fuck marvel im getting DBZ" when the games are going to be like... 8 months apart? More? O_o

Uh, it matters to me and everyone else who bought UMvC3, because MvCi is basically buying the game a second time and cutting the roster in half. lol

If MvCi rehashed ALL of the UMvC3 assets and added 20 new characters, that would be GREAT. AWESOME. It's not about the rehash itself, but that they rehashed the characters, cut the roster in half, and everything looks much much worse.

That said, Jedah guarantees I will purchase this game unless they mess him up. Morrigan is looking incredibly boring right now.

That's a very big bullshit yes it looks worse art style wise but the models, backgrounds, effects ... Look way better technically than anything in UMvC 3.

It might not look as well due to lack of style and chromatic abberation but on a technical perspective it's an upgrade. Objectively better textures, models, and backgrounds
 
If we are on the subject of reusing assets, SFV was made hella fast. 16 characters from scratch, no wonder the game lacked content.
 
Marvel Infinite does have better detail, textures and polygons. That's probably an objective truth, it is technically the more demanding the game.

But if it looks like a phone game aesthetically... who cares how many polygons each character has or what the resolution of the textures are?

My man. Pretty much. Also the presentation of the game is shot. From the UI to the HUD, they all look boring.

as hyped as I am for the DBZ, a One Piece game would have been 100 times better, if only because the cast is so much more diverse in its powers and look.

As much as i like their art style, yet i think it looks bad in motion. Though i can see they are improving when it comes to that from what I've seen in DBZ videos.

I really think if they can make DBZ stuff tourney viable they'll have no problem making One Piece stuff viable. Robin would be a zoning based character who can make her arms appear anywhere on the stage, haki would just be a special move for certain characters, and obviously stuff like Luffy's hard counter to Enel just wouldn't come up at all, or else a character like Pikachu would shit on Greninja in smash bros :P
 
Anime/comic/video game canon matters absolutely fuck all when it comes to fighting games.

You can be a god and still be low tier. You can be Yamcha and still be god tier.

Is this just coincidence for the Capcom default roster/story mode? Unconfirmed, Story Mode only?

X, Zero, (Sigma might be an exception depending on how much he's in the story and if you fight him I guess)
Chris, Nemesis
Arthur, Firebrand
Strider, Meio
Hunter, Mohran
Morrigan, Jedah

so, should we expect to have duos (even if they're not playable) for:
Spencer, ??? (Maybe he'd be another exception, unless Super Joe or Groeder or something is in the story mode)
Dante, ??? (Lady?)

and if he's there and Playable:
Frank West, ??? (maybe one of the psychos in the story mode?)
Haggar/??? (Mad Gear gang member in story mode? Or Maybe Cody or Guy)
 
Played the demo last night and it is pretty.... not good. The art design and graphics do not feel up to snuff when things like Guilty Gear, Injustice, and hell, even SFV exist and look significantly better. The serious art direction they took makes seeing characters like Ryu and Meagan together look very jarring.
 
I wish it was DMC4 Dante too but I don't think anyone's surprised its DMC3 Dante. It is Capcom afterall.


Saying it looks visually worse in every way is a bit hyperbole. The detail itself in the character models is better, it's just that the design work on them looks hideous and the artstyle isn't a good fit for this game. So on a pure technical level, the detailing has improved but everything looks ugly from a design standpoint so it becomes a moot.

Itsuno is the one that signs off on which DMC characters and what versions the MvC team can use. I don't want DMC4 Dante though. I wished for Dante with a cross-series move set with DMC3 Dante as the basis.
