I let my imagination go wild with dlc and it'll probably just be that the dlc was in front of us the whole time. Rip gene and Asura.

Well, it is possible the BP/[newcomer] and Venom/[whoever] covers got replaced at the last minute specifically to avoid a Dormammu/Firbrand situation? And that's why they're seemingly more simple than most of the other variants?

Is this called bargaining?

Well we know it won't be Gran Master Meio. Don't think there was anyone else on the leak besides Death and i'm pretty sure that's another NPC for Marvel. Since Any capcom characters that use that as a name would just use their real name. Since the only other fits besides that would be Hunk from Resident Evil (Mr. Death) and whoever that one vampire people posted.
 
Venom isnt a newcomer to the series though. Well... Eddie Brock isnt. If he's DLC it might be a different Venom.
 
Capcom only ever said new characters. Honestly with how they've been marketing they probably consider Thanos and Rocket Raccoon as new characters. So I could see them pulling that card if Venom or someone who missed out on MVC3 joins the game.
 
There is also the potential that the last cover has Venom and one of the all new DLC is the newer Ghost Rider. Maybe.

Either way, if the base roster is only 30 deep I'm still disappointed, even if the gameplay is killer.

for all we know its new chracters compared to 3. But keep swimming in that river mate.

edit: and this was a phrase in a trailer, it wasnt even coming from the devs or something. Hell in the japanese trailer the wording is different.

Dassit. I'm gonna get this game sometime next year, when there's a bundle with more DLC characters available at a decent price.

I just can't justify buying this game day1. Thanks for the ride guys.

Unless I missed something, I couldn't find anything pointing towards Capcom treating either of them as newcomers.
 
This is effectively a $90 game when you add that Season Pass in which more and more increasingly looks like it should have been part of the game...

I'm just saying towards the words on the DLC. They haven't outright said that but with the changes both have had. I could see that being the case for them.

The idea that they are On Disk DLC? Honestly since the E3 trailer that showed Black Panther in the story mode, I felt as though that is a possibility too since for all we know, you are going to fight him in the story mode. And if that were to happen, you know Capcom will never hear the end of it.

They kinda did that with the SFV story mode. They had characters you fight/play as that, at the time, weren't complete.

All I can think now is that Jedah was meant to be the final reveal but they bumped him up for EVO and the backlash the game was having. The final reveal would play up the last bits and who we are getting as DLC.

That's if this comes to pass.

I will say any sort of DLC reveals before the game releases at gamescom would just reek of "We held these off from you".
Since I can't imagine them showing MonHun and Venom and then going "Gotta get the season pass!"

Only difference was that the story mode for SFV came much later after the game came out when the last two characters were playable as opposed to SFxTK where the dataminers fished out the extra DLC characters on disk fully playable. Now... if SFV came out and dataminers got Urien fully playable, then that would have been a different monster to deal with all together.
 
I could see Venom being Season 2 if he's not in the base roster, but then why put him in the story? Is it a Kolin situation with him?

Like I said earlier, there's no way they'd have 3 hype characters in their last trailer.
 
I think we should just make the OT title "oh dear..." again. because that's how it's been with this game since announcement.
 
The worst part is the majority of people in this thread are those who are putting up with a lot of shit and still willing to give the game a chance. Since there's still redeeming aspects. But I know for the more casual crowd. If that 30 character roster comes to pass with only 2 capcom newcomer, 3 Marvel newcomers, and 4 female character totals. A story mode won't be enough to cover it. Especially not when compared to it's peers and prior titles in the series.
 
What if Hunter and Venom are unlockable characters that they don't plan to reveal before launch? Mvc3 had unlockable newcomers iirc (Hsien Ko was one for sure). Aren't we also missing another trailer that will officially show off Jedah?

They also haven't done unlockable characters since MVC3. So I doubt that's making a comeback. But yeah we are missing a trailer to show Morrigan, Firebrand, Ghostrider, Dormammu, and Jedah (Might have been a few more)

A lot of us are expecting a hell-themed trailer with Jedah, Firebrand, Ghost Rider, and Dormammu.

Morrigan was in the expanded version of the 1st trailer.
 
Morrigan was one of the first characters shown, with Cap shortly after the initial reveal

Weren't the last couple trailers 6 characters? Those 4 with venom and hunter would work right?
 
I can't see myself buying this game if Venom is not in it, since I really dislike the roster and I don't trust Capcom at all , but I'll watch the tournaments if they are hype like Marvel 3 was.
