Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster |DT2| oh dear...

Honestly, I really don't like the idea of mashup stages, so I kind of wish it were just an AIM stage and RE just got its own stage.

But didn't someone say that there was a RE7/Symbiote stage or something before? Or was that just wishful thinking? If they actually showed that off at the panel, I would have thought more people would have mentioned it.

I looked at the zip leak I don't see what can even be a related to RE7.

It's not like Gamora won't be ripe for DLC costumes in the future. I like the short hair for this game, Capcom doesn't really do all that great with long hair, and this fits her poses and such pretty well. They've done pretty well with her gameplay style though, her normals and stuff have been "Mahvel-fied" quite well.

The various gameplay from today looks like one would start to expect from good players. It's not so much SURPRISING, as it is just confirming a lot from what the story demo let us tease ourselves with.

As a person who doesn't LOVE MvC3's gameplay, I reiterate, I love how self-sufficient characters appear in this game. They really seem to have the ability to put an opponent through so many hitstates and advantage situations without depending on someone else to do it for them. Even with this weird cast of so many returning characters, it feels like a lot of them will get a chance to be real point characters now, rather than just a clearly better characters one button special move attachment.

Yet the creativity and utility from certain moves and specials still exist, helping to promote synergy. In a way, this reminds me of getting to set custom assist in Skullgirls. It definitely opens the potential to find ways to use a larger amount of characters to achieve specific situations, rather than being locked behind 3 assist, once decided strictly by Capcom.

What I don't understand is that 90% of the people who know of the GotG only know of the movies. Why not make her default the MCU version and this white one the alt skin?

To prove to people that they're also paying attention to comics and other media, not just the recent movies.

People are always accusing this game of just being promotion for MCU, after all.

I guess it's because they expect more people to buy the movie look, rather than this one?
Or, because they reused the Character Model from Contest of Champions, ahem.. *kappa*

Wait what
They are combining universes.

The tower in which DMC3 takes place in is called Temen-Ni-Gru which is actually a giant conduit in between dimensions through the sky above. Sparda sealed his power in it.

A conduit that opens to other dimensions....

While they're generally taking MCU characters, most of the designs themselves are the characters as they are in the comics. IE Hawkeye, Gamora, Capt America, Dr Strange are all wearing their 'default' comic outfits.

Also Gamora's comic design is way better than in the movies.

I wonder where the Symbiote Soldiers come into play from the .zip leak.

Maybe Symbiotes take over Willamette Parkview Mall from Dead Rising, and when the Special Forces arrive to deal with the situation, they're infected and transformed into Symbiote Soldiers? A Spider-Man/Frank West mashup stage would make a lot of sense.

Though, to be honest, the only unrevealed mashup I'm expecting to see is a demonic Doctor Strange/Darkstalkers (or DMC or Ghosts 'n Goblins) stage.

While I'd prefer they go with the comic look when possible, the movie look probably would have been best overall. The costume I generally like the most was her Annihilation look and the Black Vortex look, since I think the hood and cape works really well for her. The Annihilation look has the problem of being very skimpy though, and the Black Vortex look wasn't supposed to be her standard version at all. Outside of that, there's her original look, which just looks like a fishnet nightgown, and the Mass Effect armor which they went with here, though that doesn't really look like her classic look or movie look, and also doesn't really strike me as being very sword-centric, but whatever. So in the end, I agree that just going with the recognizable movie version probably would have just been for the best.

Honestly, I think the problem with her looks over the years was really just that the original costume wasn't that good, especially if she was meant to be the most deadly woman in the galaxy.

I wonder what SymbioteHuge would be if it was Dead Rising

What else could it be? Bionic Commando? SymbioteSoldier I mean, not sure about Symbiotehuge
Maybe it's just a bunch of Symbiotes bonded together to form a giant Venom-looking beast? It doesn't have to be a cross-company fusion. Dah'ren Mohran looks to be a pure Capcom monster, and Symbiote might be a pure Marvel one.

I guess it's the same concept as saving the best/fan favorite characters for DLC, but I'd think a lot of the casual crowd would be much more hype for Gamora if they could recognize her.

People begging for MCU Gamora need some Allah in their lives.

That is the definition of "generic femme fetale" look.

That's not the point. Most people who like Gamora only know of her through the movies. Not showing off that skin means they will likely have lower interest in the character, and therefore the game.

Maybe it will be the secret return of Abyss from MvC2, though its just him in his third form. That thing always looked like Venom on steroids to me.

Her look in her just reminds people of the terrible Bendis run where all the Guardians got Mass Effect armor. Personally I wanted white eyed Gamora.

Yeah, agreed. They should add her movie look to the Preorder Costume set. Would be nice to get a female character suit, and they could still show off her more readily identifiable look in pre-release materials, then.

One of those looks of hers also looks like a green 90s Psylocke...

Did they do something to the lighting? It feels like it's better. I'm watching Max's video with Spidey and Gamora, and it looks really good. Feels better looking for sure.
Please don't tell me that the only announcements for SFV are the sports costumes???

And no new MCVI character reveal????
They unveiled Spidey, Haggar, Frank West, and Nemesis yesterday. Or was that today? Regardless, chill.

Lets see if we cant spark some more discussion

So, what could possibly be

"A lot of more crazy stuff"
as Jard posted

Probably just PR speak but what do you think its PR speak for? Characters? Modes? Stages?

I think there might be A character we don't know about. Also think they'll highlight a bit on DLC plans after the games release. Stuff like "Xmen are coming" and what not.

I was so disappointed (still kinda am) at Gamora in the MCU, largely because of her look. This is still the GOAT design and I'll snap up an alt of this real quick.

The cohesive colour scheme and simple colour blocking, small and subtle, yet strong ornamentation/decoration that let's you know she's not to be fucked with and makes it clear she's a galaxy wide-threat, and just the general imposing look of her is far above everything else.

The third volume of the Guardians reboot that gave everybody gross futuristic-space-soldier updates to their looks was garbage. Gamora's model looks fine but she lost some personality along the way, now she just looks like a space soldier.

If you want to spark a discussion about one thing. Is Green Goblin actually a tease or it's just a interpretation by Jard?

They'll announce Winter Soldier as DLC and go "pretty crazy huh!" and that's it.

Absolutely all of this ^ as far as Gamora's design goes.

They spoke about Spider-Man's level 3 hyper combo and how the Green Goblin's pumpkin bombs are used against the opponent after flying out of nowhere. Ong asked, "where is the Green Goblin?" before telling the panel to stay tuned for more character reveals.
The specific wording has me very optimistic. A Marvel Games producer working on the game rhetorically asked where Green Goblin was and then answered his own question with "stay tuned." This is someone who knows the full roster and DLC plans.

Yeah, I like that.

How would Green Goblin be in the game and then get hit by Spidey's Level 3

I'M NOT DUMB CAPCOM

Ever played DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2?

Kiwi (Freeza henchman) has a super called "Aah, Lord Freeza!!" He basically acts like he sees Freeza creeping, which allows the opponent to let their guard down and eat a barrage of energy blasts. When you put him against Freeza, same shit happens.

Voice clips change to reference Hobgoblin.

That. Or Harry.

Watch that be the third Marvel DLC character (after Black Panther and Winter Soldier) and due to parity that means that in the first season of DLC we get no female characters at all!

Or maybe he's a boss character in the story that is not and never will be a playable character!
