I wonder if by some chance we got a character like
Ghost
would we get
the male comic version or the female movie version

I wouldn't mind
Ghost
though there's really no chance

put her in the Season Pass.

New Character? Check
Sorely needed female? Check
Movie promotion? Check

Yeah, Hela would be sick as a character. She's got a great comic design too.

Max explaining the Marvel cycle of initially hating and then growing to love new Marvel games.

I remember how much Sanford and Yipes hated MvC3. Tho the latter got over it pretty quick around the end of Vanilla.

Phoenix and X-factor were such a big problem.

I'm not spending 80 dollars for six fucking characters.

are people paying that much? PC base game can be found for low as $30 (US). Amazon ran several sales for ps4 versions at $40-45.

I guess if you pay for season pass then yes you can end up at $60-$75 sure

myself I think only dlc I want is Black Panther. I dont do Season passes for no game. You gotta tell me what content I'm getting upfront

So someone in the audience tried to take a jab at Capcom during the Bandai Namco panel, but the room went silent & Harada called him out on it (according to the Max stream).

MVCI is growing on me the more gameplay I see. I agree with Max in terms of artstyle, UI being bad. I'm not expecting the game too look too different day 1, but it'd be nice to see the day 1 patch make the game look significantly better.

Gameplay sounds very much like a passion project.

If it weren't, they would have just copied the UMvC3 engine. They didn't do that at all.
The fundamental engine is extremely different.

2v2, entirely different button config, wild stone system, free tag system.

Plus, it's the first Marvel game to have a legit, cinematic story mode. Cheesy or not, that takes A LOT OF WORK. Work that MvC3 didn't put in. In fact, that was one of the biggest complaints about MvC3...no story.

I don't know how anyone could say there's no passion here.

Graphics and UI look bad, story mode looks worse and a lot of the cast is returning from UMvC3. That's enough for anyone to claim the game is a cash grab. It may not be true but it's enough for the internet.

Yeah and watching his capture, I'm becoming rapidly more confident that this game is going to be just fine. It looks great to watch and the free tagging + gems add so much to it that I think seems to really make up for lacking a third character and assists..

I think most people will have gripes with the roster but I'd find it hard to believe if someone can't find 2-4 characters on it that they are excited to play. Hopefully over time the roster can be updated through dlc to be in a better shape.

I'm just wondering at this point what modes the game will have for casual players that might pull in a larger audience. They really need to step their game up on the single player side from past entries in the series.

Edit: Really the graphics only look 'bad' in stills and in some specific instances. In motion I'm constantly impressed by how good it looks. I'll take this over Injustice 2 any day of the week.

Graphics look fine too me but I just finished BlazBlue Calamity Trigger other day so I'm not really caring too much bout graphics. I'm more into the Art style, online play***, & gameplay.

I just want a little touch up to Chun Li's face (which they already fixed?) and I'm good.

What an idiot. Harada is friends with other developers and collabs constantly with Ono/Capcom. It would be a BAD look if Harada agreed or talked shit or laughed with that stoner.

While MvCi is having a ROUGH as shit go, it's not like I want it to fail. I want it to be good, fun, interesting, and something the FGC enjoys for years to come. It just isn't pre-release doing it for me. Aside from the inclusion of Jedah the cast does nothing for me, and that is a big problem for a fighting game.

My other issue stems from the fact that vanilla MvC3 was total trash. Humping cards spectating and butt cheeks net code, then they drop a new version to get more of my money without fixing vanilla. Should've never even launched vanilla... yeesh.

Even if the roster exploded with awesome new characters I want to play I still am not there day one based off of principle of ripping me off with vanilla MvC3. You need to earn my dollery doos.

They didn't fix her.

even if a lot of the hate Infinite is getting IS compeltely warranted (a lot isnt but thats another can of worms), I remember vanilla Marvel 3 being almost the same lol.

God people were shitting on it so hard back then, i wasnt "real Marvel" and shit.

The game looks fun in motion.

I think for me to enjoy this game, I have to completely forget MvC3 existing. Every time I see footage I just can't help but think why can't this be 3v3, why can't we have assists, why couldn't this be a regular MvC3 sequel? This on top of the lackluster sound, art, UI etc.

In time I am sure I'll get over it because it's still a Marvel game (we are lucky to be even getting one), but maann they are making it hard for me to like it.

I now feel what the MvC2 vets felt when MvC3 came out.

SFV pulled in casuals like me via that amazing Rise Up marketing campaign, fanservice and looking like fun.

I have problems with SFV
...BUT!!!! I don't regret buying it.

Though I still say day one buyers for SFV deserve almost everything free.

Then we found out SFV wasnt casual friendly at all.

This Infinite game doesn't even look like its trying to appeal to casuals that much. FGC are crawling all over it though.

If you wanna appeal to casuals... throw in people from the Netflix Marvel shows. Make the game look sleek and sexy. Stop having the characters look bad. Make a story mode thats not trash.

...

Yes we did. Don't get me started. I havent played SF since the Arcade so I got bodied at SFV launch. Just threw down my controller and decided I could only play NRS games (cause they include tutorials and single player content to ease noobs into online play)

Now though SFV has a story at least and looks like great tutorial content. I just havent had time to go back

Just now lately I've finally drifted into lots of other fighters after learning the core fundamentals thanks to IJ2/MKX

the interactions between Hulk and Ryu vs Mohran, as well as Spider-man, Chris, (Haggar?) and Frank West were decent from I've read but...Capcom didn't release that publicly so I don't know for sure how good or bad it really was

Maybe there's hope for the story mode and it just starts off weird

Everything shown at Comic-Con in regards to the story is enough to realize that it isn't trash. It actually looks like it's going to be fun.

I think you just hate everything bout IJ2 so we won't go any further on that lol (I remember you from IJ2 thread).

I like Injustice 2. Pretty sure I haven't said anything negative about the gameplay. Just QOL stuff like not being able to do player matches without gear. Not being able to turn of mics. I'm not as impressed with the single player stuff as many others are, though, that's true.

Injustice "tutorials" are "Do these 7 or 8 things" with little explanation as to why. It doesn't go through the characters strings, it doesn't explain when and why you would want to use them, it doesn't explain anything about the why of the game. It's just do this thing.

I really loved Tekken 7's tutorial.

Almost as good as SFxT's. Almost.

They're okay. They teach you how to do things, but not why or when. Xrd's advanced tutorials are much better in that regard.

Xrd's tutorials are pretty good (just finished those recently too and upgraded to REV2)

I dont think it just blows IJ2 directly out of the water because unlike Xrd, IJ2 doesnt have a million different ways to Roman Cancel. so much less to cover.

[edit] Do you mean the GG Xrd Missions? Those are quite awesome but nothing else seems to have those

Max talking on stream that we don't know what netplay is like. But we do know the netcode is same code developed for SFV.
Once players have a firm grasp on the fundamentals, they can hop online and test their burgeoning skills against worldwide opponents, one-on-one or in lobbies, using Capcom’s proprietary rollback netcode. While netplay stood on shaky ground in the early days of Street Fighter V (which also utilized the in-house Kagemusha netcode), the developers are planning to forgo their own servers this time around in favor of the dedicated platforms provided by Sony and Microsoft, hopefully providing more stability for the community’s online warriors.

Okay I think you're refering to Xrd's 'missions' along with the tuts. I see REV2 added even more tutorials. I was on REV1 before.

So my bad yes I agree these tutorials are great I still havent finished all the missions. Just the REV1 base set of tutorials my bad

We all knew the gameplay was going to be ridiculous when we realized how the tag mechanic worked. I said months ago that after a few months and people have the game in their hands, it will look broken.
