Free tagging sounds much more fun and open ended to me.
I agree, it was needed to refresh the style of gameplay but while still sticking to the series' roots.

Max explaining the Marvel cycle of initially hating and then growing to love new Marvel games.
I'm not spending 80 dollars for six fucking characters.
So someone in the audience tried to take a jab at Capcom during the Bandai Namco panel, but the room went silent & Harada called him out on it (according to the Max stream).
Gameplay sounds very much like a passion project.
If it weren't, they would have just copied the UMvC3 engine. They didn't do that at all.
The fundamental engine is extremely different.
2v2, entirely different button config, wild stone system, free tag system.
Plus, it's the first Marvel game to have a legit, cinematic story mode. Cheesy or not, that takes A LOT OF WORK. Work that MvC3 didn't put in. In fact, that was one of the biggest complaints about MvC3...no story.
I don't know how anyone could say there's no passion here.
It was the pre-match voiceline. When did they spoke to each other before the match complete? before smack talks to other team?

Graphics look fine too me but I just finished BlazBlue Calamity Trigger other day so I'm not really caring too much bout graphics. I'm more into the Art style, online play***, & gameplay.
I just want a little touch up to Chun Li's face (which they already fixed?) and I'm good.

People are fucking fickle. People hate everything when they first see it/hear it.even if a lot of the hate Infinite is getting IS compeltely warranted (a lot isnt but thats another can of worms), I remember vanilla Marvel 3 being almost the same lol.
God people were shitting on it so hard back then, i wasnt "real Marvel" and shit.
Yeah and watching his capture, I'm becoming rapidly more confident that this game is going to be just fine. It looks great to watch and the free tagging + gems add so much to it that I think seems to really make up for lacking a third character and assists..
I think most people will have gripes with the roster but I'd find it hard to believe if someone can't find 2-4 characters on it that they are excited to play. Hopefully over time the roster can be updated through dlc to be in a better shape.
I'm just wondering at this point what modes the game will have for casual players that might pull in a larger audience. They really need to step their game up on the single player side from past entries in the series.
Edit: Really the graphics only look 'bad' in stills and in some specific instances. In motion I'm constantly impressed by how good it looks. I'll take this over Injustice 2 any day of the week.
SFV pulled in casuals like me via that amazing Rise Up marketing campaign, fanservice and looking like fun.
I have problems with SFV
...BUT!!!! I don't regret buying it.
Though I still say day one buyers for SFV deserve almost everything free.
Then we found out SFV wasnt casual friendly at all.
...
Calling the injustice things tutorials is an insult to games with actual tutorials.

This Infinite game doesn't even look like its trying to appeal to casuals that much. FGC are crawling all over it though.
If you wanna appeal to casuals... throw in people from the Netflix Marvel shows. Make the game look sleek and sexy. Stop having the characters look bad. Make a story mode thats not trash.
They're okay. They teach you how to do things, but not why or when. Xrd's advanced tutorials are much better in that regard.Calling the injustice things tutorials is an insult to games with actual tutorials.
Story demo did its damage. No matter how the final story turns out they can't overcome that.
I really loved Tekken 7's tutorial.Calling the injustice things tutorials is an insult to games with actual tutorials.
I think you just hate everything bout IJ2 so we won't go any further on that lol (I remember you from IJ2 thread).
I really loved Tekken 7's tutorial.
did what damage? I thought the Story demo was okay.
Granted I didnt play UMvC3
I can imagine losing 3v3 would piss yall off.

http://kotaku.com/marvel-vs-capcom-infinite-wants-even-newbies-to-have-a-1794685310Once players have a firm grasp on the fundamentals, they can hop online and test their burgeoning skills against worldwide opponents, one-on-one or in lobbies, using Capcoms proprietary rollback netcode. While netplay stood on shaky ground in the early days of Street Fighter V (which also utilized the in-house Kagemusha netcode), the developers are planning to forgo their own servers this time around in favor of the dedicated platforms provided by Sony and Microsoft, hopefully providing more stability for the communitys online warriors.

many people were turned off by the demo. They shouldn't have released it.

Ha! Zero calls Thanos "Venom", in Max's stream, when he tags him in.
Game's gonna look crazy at high levels:

Sounded like "Thanos" to me.
Probably useful if you're either a zoner or your opponent lives on momentum. Is crossing your opponent up and using the Space stone to repel them instead of pull them in useful at all? Thanos does it in one of the Max matches
I'd really like Hela too. Though I do think Loki should take precedence.Yeah, Hela would be sick as a character. She's got a great comic design too.

Decide for yourself. The more I listen to it the more it sounds like he's saying "Venom" and I wouldn't put it past a build having a weird bug like that.
Chat people thought he was saying "Get 'em" but afaik characters always say their partner's name when tagging.
