How would you guys want the cape to look in game, seeing as it's never been portrayed in an animated medium before?

Do you want the Chowder effect, where it's a static texture but the cape pans over different parts of it?

Seriously, it's Gamora's best look.
That's Gamora's Black Vortex costume. Nova has one as well, but it's for Kid Nova.

I still feel like we'll get a costume closer to Gamora's MCU look as her alt. Either that or her All-New Guardians of the Galaxy look.

I mean, like it does in Future Fight, but with good graphics and better textures and lighting and stuff. Make it so that shadows on her start casting the star textures as well.

We might get multiple premium costumes, tho. Seems like the type of thing they'd do, if SFV is any indication.

What are some costumes that you guys are wanting/expecting?

Off the top of my head...

Bearded Chris Evans Cap

MCU Gamora

MCU Strange

From the 3 seconds of Morrigan's theme we hear in Max's new vid, it sounds like it's one of the few themes from MvC3 that didn't get butchered.

Her EN voice still sucks though.

That's pretty much the Chowder effect. Though I think making it cast on her shadows too would be a really difficult feat to accomplish.

Alright. Ok. Hear me out.

What if the reason it's Nemesis instead of Wesker, is because they're gonna release him in a two pack with Doom. BECAUSE they were the two bad guys of MVC3 before Galactus

Doom is doomed.

Edit: Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite |OT| No Doom, All Gloom

I mean if we are talking about copy/pasting over Marvel 3 then 50 was the minimum that people could reasonably expected where 38 would be from Marvel 3 and 12 would be brand new.

Some of you guys are underestimating the amount of work "copy/pasting" is,

It's not just taking key frames, plopping them into the new game, and then moving on to something else.

Even the returning characters take a LOT of work to complete. They have new models, all new voice recordings, new moves, old moves tweaked for a totally different engine, and complete rebalancing against a different cast of characters (including balancing against DLC characters that won't be out for months after release).

Remember this is Marvel, one of the most complicated, unchained fighting games out there. Compared to other fighting games, it's probably insanely hard to balance considering all the moving parts...and, unlike MvC2 (and even 3 to an extent), they are trying REALLY hard to make this game NOT be a busted mess on day 1.

Reusing animations saves ONE step, not all of them.

that's great

and marvel 3 started from NOTHING and had 36 characters at launch

there's no fucking excuse besides them clearly trying to rush this shit out as quickly as possible for as cheap as possible

MvC3 started from TvC.

My point is that 50 characters as a starting roster for a completely new engine was never a possibility.

Don't forget MvCi has a really in depth, cinematic story mode, that MvC3 didn't have at all. Like it or not, that takes a lot of time and resources to create. And, if the budget were equal to that of MvC3, then that additional cost has to come from somewhere. Fewer characters it is.

then they probably shouldn't be recycling a bunch of assets for a completely new engine if it's going to take all of this god damn work anyways

just use the same engine and add on top of that. the best selling game every year still has quake 3 code in it.

Ehhh... Dahbomb, the guy you made a bet with got banned...
Tatsunoko vs Capcom was such a good-ass game. Better than we deserved.

Shit, we need a current gen port. Put it on the Switch, pls.
I really liked how different was the Capcom roster it had. I miss Batsu, the guy from Onimusha, Saki, etc. It even almost had PW and/or Franziska!

TvC was decent at first, UAS added Tekkaman Blade and that kinda ended up making the meta stale iirc. He was pretty much on every track in top 8 after a while. Then mvc3 was announced and people stopped playing.

No, he wasn't. There were only three good Blade players back then and only one of us was making big top 8s consistently. (Source: I have an EVO TvC top 8 medal with Tekkaman Blade)

How long was the competitive life on TvC? Do you think the meta would have evolved if it lasted as long as MvC3?

Oh really? I could be remembering wrong but I recall seeing a lot of Tekkaman Blade and hearing of how high tier he is in that game. That and I believe Yatterman 2

Edit: yeah i just did some checking and I was wrong. Game was more varied by the end than i thought. I wonder what tourney I'm remembering seeing TB everywhere.

They really need to bring those characters back. The UMvC3 Capcom roster was the best in the series because of all the different franchises that got representation. I want as many different franchises covered even if it's just one character.

Batsu (or another RS rep), Soki, Cap. Commando, Jin, Son Son, Amaterasu, Viewtiful Joe, Hayato, and Saki should be in the roster eventually.

TvC had a brilliant character selection that something tied to "appealing to western sensibilities" like MvC will never match.

I guess? lol. It was pretty much "appealing to eastern sensibilities." I didn't care about or like anything on the TvC side of the roster.

Doesn't change the fact that it has a much more appealing roster than MvC:I, thanks in part to its major diversity on the Capcom side.

It doesn't to me. At all. So definitely not a fact.

Capcom side, I'll give you. Overall, nawp.
