They should also copy bkazblue where specials are on the right stick. Even if that's story mode only.

Oh yeah the 'stylish' mode does help along with dropping down difficulty at anytime. in SFV I always ignored Nash.
So was so screwed in the Nash vs Bison fight must've taken me 20 tries before I decided to finally just hang back and zone Bison out

Here I was thinking DMC5-hopefuls were crazy. That post makes sense.

Not only that, but they made a bunch of new assets in the form of Vergil. Why create new content to a 7 year old game if they're not planning more? It's a lot of effort for a remaster. Adding to that, Itsuno went straight from DMC4SE into his new project. Conversely, after Dragon's Dogma it took him quite a lot of time before starting DMC4SE.

Like Dahbomb said, PSX believe.

Dormammu and Firebrand are fired up for #MVCI, and this week they kick off our Marvel Comics variant covers!

Edit: The FB post confirms we're seeing them at Gamescom.

If Dormammu/Firebrand aren't the roster, it's weird that they wouldn't just coincide their official trailer/announcement with this cover.

If they're not on the roster, it's weird that they would do this at all.

edit: Spoke too soon.

They said in the Facebook post we'd see Gameplay of them at Gamescom so they're officially announced for the roster. I guess it wasn't in the marketing plan or budget to have trailers outside of events or something

Gotta admit. It's pretty funny for them to officially go "Here's some more characters. But you ain't seeing them until later though". At least it wasn't a newcomer or it'd be more odd.

The Dread Dormammu and Firebrand the Red Blaze are fired up #MVCI, and this week they kick off our Marvel Comics variant covers. Spider-Man vs. Deadpool #20 out Aug 2, and look for Dormammu & Firebrand gameplay during Gamescom, August 22.

from Marvel Vs. Capcom Facebook. Both are pretty much confirmed as playable characters but not like we ever doubt them being playable characters! :P

Spider-man and Deadpool, which is the Dormammu/Firebrand one that was already leaked comes out tomorrow, still haven't shown it officially
Defenders is next week
Thanos and Black Panther are late August

EDIT: Actually.....

What reveals!

I mean, the trailers treat veterans same as the newcomers so...

Odd that we didn't get a Hyper teaser like RR or at least a screenshot of Firebrand vs Dorm.

Jeez, I remember the time when guys would (understandably) call you a shill.

It's not even that odd anymore, they really are just saying fuck it when it comes to promoting this game and building hype

This game has the most bizarre, anticlimactic marketing ever.
Leaks tend to do that, especially the scope of them. It paints everything else, even if we are getting less trailers and communication than we're used to. It exacerbates it all.

I'm here to announce Venom for the game.
We couldn't afford to actually make a facebook or twitter post so this neogaf post is the official confirmation. It was also too expensive to get an artist to draw venom so please just take this. Please be excited for gamescom.

Even had they not leaked, i'd be wondering why we are getting reveals off a comic cover with no sort of trailer alongside them.
The "massive" trailer style over the individual character reveals was a mistake.

That art is just.

Yeah.

You'd think they wouldn't want to put characters on comic book covers three weeks before they plan on showing those characters in-game. It just seems poorly planned and unprofessional, like so much about this game.

With how the Dormammu and Firebrand reveal is. I wouldn't be surprised if there were different plans at one time that just fell through. Since as you said doesn't make much sense to have these as the only characters to reveal in such a way.

Venom isn't even part of his own variant cover. I...

In my eyes, this gives credence to the possibility of him being DLC after all.

I keep saying, I'm 90% sure plans changing led to that Venom cover being what it is. They thought they'd have everything revealed by now but since they don't they replaced the cover.

Firebrand and Dormammu aren't new reveals tho, so they just let it ride.

I wonder if Capcom is SFxTing us. All the DLC characters are done, but they realized the game won't sell well, so they are trying to eek money out of the loyalists.

I can't imagine that Panther and Sigma aren't done or at least really close to being done. The real question is whether or not the other 4 are done.

I'm betting on BP and Sigma being 90% done, the next two being 50% done, and the last two just being started on.

There's no way that all 6 characters aren't completely finished. They're coming out within the next 4 months. They're undoubtedly working on next year's DLC already.

Oh that soon? I thought it was gonna be spread out over a year like SFV.

Yeah, they're all done if that's the case. Totally SFxT again.

I won't say all of the characters are like that. But I would be amazed if someone like Sigma wasn't already done and could've made the launch. Capcom's already been caught doing such as you said in SFxT and even trying to scrub code to hide the fact that something was pulled from being in the game to be made into DLC (Jacks Birthday in RE7)

The first batch of 6 will be out before the year ends, they said. Next year, who knows what the schedule will look like. Hopefully more consistent than SF5, but it's capcom so probably not.

If it's like SFV, I'm expecting delay after delay. They had a hard enough time getting one DLC character out at a time, I can't imagine them sticking to any kind of schedule and getting two characters out at a time.

Then again, if they go with vets, they've got a lot less work.

Makes me wonder how the datamine will look for this game.

But yeah, I have no doubt Sigma and Black Panther could've made launch. I'm mostly over it, but that was really a bad move.

Haha what yo Im out so hard if this is a repeat of SFxT. That game pissed me off so hard I ended up boycotting Capcom for several years.

I just have no idea how anyone at Capcom could logically expect this project to move 2 million. They've done the absolute bare minimum in everything (sans gameplay) when it comes to this game.

It is known that Capcom is managed by a bunch of imbeciles and has been for quite a while now.

Of course the dlc characters are done or are close to done. That's the way it works for dlc for almost every game. Doesn't it make it less shitty though for this game that is in dire need of more newcomers.

In spectacular Capcom fashion, its gonna miss its sales target.

RE7 had a really good PR cycle and turned out to be a fantastic game yet it still didn't meet their projections.

Capcom is the poster child for unrealistic sales projections

But thats the thing, 2 million isnt unreasonable at all for a MvC game releasing across PS4/XB1/PC. Its just a testament to how incompetent Capcoms management is that they'll still fail to meet the sales target.

Maybe a Switch port will get them to 2 million, who knows.

Looking forward to capcom's excuse to when this bombs. I remember for SF x T they said it was because there was too many fighting games out at the time and totally not their fault.
