Firebrand is repping Gargoyle's Quest/Demon's Crest as well as Ghosts 'n Goblins, so he's not redundant as a rep.

For Nemesis, I'll say this. I loved that he was one of the UMvC3 newcomers. He was high on my list of most wanted Capcom characters. If he hadn't appeared, he still would have been one of my most wanted, and I would have loved to see him in the next game. And I do love that he made it. That said, I would have preferred if he was DLC this time around. With a smaller roster than MvC3, he's less essential, and I feel like I'm not as appreciative of his inclusion as I should. I would have rather had a newcomer in his place on the base roster.

We should have seen the leak for Defenders #4 like awhile ago but we didn't so I wonder why it haven't leaked yet so I guess it might have a new character on the cover?

There should be characters who can understand him, if i recall correctly he became one of Dormamus capcomverse generals in Dormamu's ending, so it's not a stretch to think some peeps in the game can speak to him.
 
Speaking of Dormammu, what's his role in story mode going to be? Surely he's just going to look at Ultron-Sigma making a new universe and just be like "Oh yeah, that's cute, whatever." Like, I'd imagine that even with two infinity stones he's no real threat to him, right?

I guess that's the problem with putting someone as powerful as the RULER OF THE DARK DIMENSION in your game.

My guess is he'll be having the Soul stone and be ruling "Dark demon village" or something.
 
I was noticing on latest Max video hit effects look slightly better, and I think they toned down or removed the seizure looking hitstun thank God.. Game is looking better graphically.

I hope it's cheesy. Like super ultra cheese. Like Zangief flexing his muscles to break a sword levels of cheese. Best moment in the SFV story. MUSCLE POWER!

These kinds of crossover stories work best when they aren't too serious. Sure, make Ultron-Sigma scary, but let everyone else be cheesy.

I was at work last night, and got thinking about the roster and got angry.

but not for the obvious reasons like all of you. You see, I was expecting this. I was expecting no Fox characters, so I cant even be mad at it. I knew it was happening.

Not even at the lack of new characters, no no. Again, I knew the game was on a shoe string budget, so I expected few new characters. Im not even mad at that.

What im mad is at the non FOX, non "ban" characters that were left off and would at the very least round up the roster numbers wise.

Taskmaster, She Hulk, MODOK, Shuma, Iron Fist.

IRON FIST, who has tv shows! thats 5 more characters.

and then 5 more for parity with Capcom, well that is so easy to do its not even funny. Hell, even if you want to be cunts about it and save the big boys for DLC, I get you Capcom. Times are rough, you want to maximize your DLC plans with peeps like Vergil, Akuma, Wesker? Fine. Its a cunt move but fine.

But I can think of any random 5 characters already made to make parity with those 5 marvel characters.

Hsien Ko, Felicia, Pheonix Wright, Tron Bonne, Viper. Boom, there you go. Or Amaterasu or Trish or Jill or Viewtiful Joe! Hell most of these would even help with the lack of female problem!

This is the part im actually mad about lol. 10 more characters would round up the roster putting it at over 40 (which is more than vanilla mvd3).

Then I also started thinking, remember MvC2? That game had a FUCKTON of hidden / locked characters. I owned a japanese Dreamcast and I rememeber having to get a save online (somehow, I forget how lol) with the full roster because I couldnt be arsed to unlock all that shit. The character screen almost doubled or something right?

What if they were doing that again (they're not lol)? Can you imagine? Like youre Capcom, they go "you know what would be cool? What if we had like half the roster locked like MvC2, wouldnt that be a awesome throwback?" and the backlash was what we have now lol.

they are not doing that btw, Im not kididng myself. But it would be cool :p

I would be down for it but ,then people would get mad that there hidden, Capcom can't win either way.
 
I didn't realize how close the use of Stones in this are to what it was in Marvel Super Heroes:

In order to win a gem from the opponent, a player must hit him/her with special move or a super move in succession. Once the player got the gem, some characters will have a special property changes on their traits

Power: Gives the character increased attack strength.

Special users:
Spider-Man: Creates a mirror image of himself on the opposite side of the opponent.
Captain America: Creates multiple hits from one of his two special moves (Charging Star and Star & Stripes) that were later turned into Hyper Combos in Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter onwards, while one special move (Shield Slash) gained similar damage properties in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 onwards.
Wolverine: Creates blurred shadow images that resembles his Berserker Charge to follow him and multiply his hits.
Psylocke: Creates a clone similar to Ninjutsu back in X-Men: Childern of the Atom in front and behind her. The duplicates can deal damage but are invulnerable.

Time: Speeds up the character's movements.

Special users:
Hulk: Allows him to hit twice on his strongest attacks.
Shuma-Gorath: Normal attacks turn opponents into stone.

Space: Gives the character increased defense. But this gem depletes fast on special users when your opponent attacks the special defense.

Special users:
Juggernaut: Makes him immune to all attacks, similar to how he was in X-Men: Children of the Atom.
Magneto: Gives him his magnetic shield, making him immune to all attacks, again similar to his boss version's move in X-Men: Children of the Atom.

Reality: Causes elemental attacks to accompany the character's regular attacks, such as:
Fireballs: Light punch to shoot high, and light kick to shoot low.
Icicles: Medium punch to rain down from the upper level of body, and medium kick to rise up from the ground.
Lightning balls: Heavy punch to shoot 4 shots in 4 directions, and heavy kick to shoot 3 shots with homing capabilities.
Halloween pumpkin: Start button to throw in a concave arch, and can hit 3 times to stun opponent.

Special user:
Blackheart: Turns invisible, in addition to the gem's normal effects.

Soul: Causes the character to regenerate health.

Special user:
Iron Man: Adds extra electric damage to his normal attacks that can drain the energy from the super attack gauge.

Mind: Causes the character to regenerate their super attack gauge.

by the way, what does the purple stone (the one that knocks people back) do during the Storm mode? I was watching the latest Max video and I couldnt figure it out?

I'm with you since they're recycling models for most of the returning cast there's no reason why the entire Roster of UMVC3 not owned by FOX shouldn't be in it. Call me weird but I actually enjoy unlocking characters in single player although tournament folks hate. I still have no idea why Capcom hasn't embraced the Killer Instinct F2P Model for this and Street Fighter they would make a mint on DLC.

Yeah, it seems so obvious, even if you're not going to do "Fox properties", a ton of the roster could have been brought forward. As it is they're already reusing a bunch of stuff.

I guess it might have brought even more to light the fact that there's only four new characters.

Also, some of those characters from Marvel 3 have no chance getting in as DLC. Like, who's gonna buy Hsienko as DLC?

I mean, do we even know if they are going to sell them individually? Can you buy SF5 characters individually outside of Fight Money? You cant right? Its season pass only (at least on Steam)?

I bet it will be the same with Marvel, so they just lump in less popular ones with the popular ones and problem solved.

Every hit has increased damage and wall bounces.

Every character in SFV can be purchased individually for $6.

More damage, attacks cause forced wall/ground bounce, moves that bounce have exaggerated bounces and most importantly you are immune to push blocks (so you can't be pushed back, you are always in your opponent's face).

The last property makes it pretty powerful.

can we press pause on the hate talk and talk a bit about Dormammu and how he will be in this new 2 v 2 setting? Better? Worse? What gem will be OP for him, what partnet, etc? Some of you cats clearly know a lot about the game (err about 3 that is, and how shit translates to Infinite from what we saw so far)

I fucking loved that character and it killed me when Champ didnt use him.

Ported directly he would be busted in the new systems.

But he won't be ported directly, they are going to be changing him around.

He might have two variations of Dark Hole and Purification or he might have 4. I expect 4 variations to his teleport too.

Quite a bit of his conjure spells will be changed reworked.

He might have a few more normals due to the control scheme. Probably a bunch of his older medium normals will be command normals.

He will still have Stalking Flare, Chaotic Flame... Dark Dimension might be changed around in animation/mechanics.

Flame Carpet gonna get nerfed along with other aspects of him. He might not have projectile negation on normals. They might nerf his teleport swipe offensively. Definitely gonna nerf the chip on his powerful spells but that might not be necessary given the global changes.
 
all his moves are going to be significantly slower like every other zoning char. add in microscopic chip and most likely hes just another guy whos gonna 8way fishhook and counterzone w chaotic flame/dark hole/pillar
