Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster |DT2| oh dear...

When I think about things like this: Venom potentially being DLC, Monster Hunter potentially being DLC, possibly no Japanese voices, barely any newcomers in general, terrible PR, and just the overall shitty marketing for this game, I really would like to know what Capcom is seeing that we aren't.

It almost seems like they don't even care about this project. It's just there.

This is the impression I'm getting as well...it's hard to imagine there's more than a handful of people behind this game that genuinely give a shit about it beyond a paycheck.

Hmm. While Ryce's original leak didn't include Haggar/Frank/Ghost Rider/Dormammu, in retrospect its less disappointing than what we're getting in the end.

Honestly, while most people didn't seem that keen on him, I was really interested in Ant Man. Pym's my favorite Marvel character, but even so I'd be fine with Lang. And I really like Monster Hunter too, and was hoping to see what they would do with a hunter, though I guess both are still in the cards as DLC.

For the longest time I've have had a theory that Capcom secretly trolls their fanbase on some level. Let's be honest, we know they love to troll the Megaman fans. I feel like at some point of time, they got annoyed of their fan base and decided to just fuck with them.

don't belittle people when you have absolutely no way of knowing what the fuck happened with this project. It's much more likely that they are working on a shoe string budget and had to make do with a bunch of Marvel roster limitations and, well, lack of money.

Just because you're not happy with the product (as you shouldnt be mind you), that is no reason to assume it's all on the devs. Fucking hate these type of "lol so lazy" comments, these are people you are talking about.

Why don't you put yourself on the other side. How do you think the people working on the game feel like, some of them (many?) probably worked on 3 aswell lol >_<

Lol watch Venom not even be DLC and just end up being npc only like Meio.

Don't expect anything to be revealed tomorrow either.

This game had every opportunity to be excellent even with the fox soft ban and they squanderes it at every turn with laziness and chasing after mcu money by trying to be a fake cg side story to the mcu. That, and trying to get a cash grab from mega man fans after seeing inafune do the same shit thru mn9.

At least the gameplay is good for when i catch it on a ps plus sale after confirming the netcode sucks balls.

"Lazy devs" is and always will be the worst criticism.

Lazy Devs is valid in certain cases. Like in the game I made. I gave up after 10 minutes but it's playable

did you play a redhead in your game, and were there dinosaurs :3

when's this game gonna go f2p

one could argue that it should be f2p from the start. And I dont even mean that in a mocking way, i'm being totally legit. It's about time a fighting game tried it, and lord knows Marvel isnt opposed to f2p games.

Kinda weird that the Defenders cover is the only one missing. Defenders hits Netflix in 2 weeks. They haven't mentioned DLC outside of Sigma & Black Panther. I don't know if they are hiding something for just boring.

I try to look at things fairly. I've ignored a lot of nonsense Capcom has pulled in the past simply because I just cared about playing. Now? I'm just more mindful of things.

Capcom and Marvel have simply dropped the ball here. Even with a potentially shitty budget that we know nothing about, they still choose to make mind-boggling decisions with this game. Making 1/2 of the antagonists DLC. Making Black Panther DLC. Cutting obvious fan favs to bring back characters no one really cares about. Barely any newcomers. They're more focused on shoving DLC into the game than actually making a strong base game. It's ridiculous.

Most people are just frustrated because we don't want to see this series obliterated on release. Shit like this could potentially kill the series. Capcom hasn't learned a damn thing from SFV and it's sad.

Does Eighting even make games anymore?

I don't think so. I haven't heard anything about Eighting in a good while.

They obviously don't. The people that did care, the team that worked on Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and Marvel 3, are long gone at this point.

Why are you going off on me like this? How was I targeting the devs specifically? I don't claim to know what went down (and neither do you for that matter) and certainly am not trying to imply in any way shape or form that this is strictly on the devs. When I said what I did it was in reference to anyone involved in the decisions to make the impression seem as such.

It was a really dumb Visual Novel in Tyrano Maker lol. I have the file somewhere.

Lol I keep forgetting Sigma is DLC. Making one out of the two main antagonists in the story mode of a fighting game a DLC character is the perfect example of DLC fuckery.

Public perception of the game is completely in the gutter so I think sales will be way below what Capcom wants. You can't visit any gaming related page on social media that mentions this game in a post without seeing 10+ comments on how hideous it looks. We here follow the news of this game pretty frequently, but the average consumer is just gonna see what the buzz is concerning it and then keep playing Destiny 2 or The Fractured But Whole, both of which come out in the fall as well.

The market will look at the base roster, think it's generally awful, and then wait for the game to be in the bargain bin or wait for UMVC:I. I've been a loyal fan of this series since COTA and I've put more hours into UMVC3 than literally any other game in my lifetime - and I don't even have a preorder for this new iteration and passed on it when it was $40 on Amazon because I still wasn't sure if it was worth it.

I don't want the game to be bad, but every piece of news surrounding it aside from gameplay is awful.

We're really paying for a gutted UMvC3 with a Story Mode. And I think that's clear enough to consumers at this point. I love this franchise so much and am still Day 1 but it is what it is, this is a difficult value proposition for anyone who isn't buying off of brand strength alone, and I don't know if the Story Mode is enough of a draw. It's had a lukewarm reception at best, and you let people play a quarter of it already.

Value is subjective and all that but this game is a really hard sell if you have any context to apply to it, and everyone has the Internet nowadays. If they've heard about this game, they've probably seen Chun-Li and the leaks.

This makes me sad. I don't know if it's poor management and the loss of efficiency from within, under experienced and new hires, a small budget, or what, but every time Capcom gets an opportunity to hit a home run they go for a bunt.

what's the button setup for infinite? trying to decide if i need to buy a stick or not

Six buttons: four attack (LP HP LK HK), Infinty Stone and Tag.

You probably don't need a stick.

thanks. hmm i think i can probably work with a controller with that. i forget from the demo but is there any inputs that require multiple buttons to be pressed?

You need to press 2K or 2P to do Hypers, if that's what you mean.

Sadness is the correct response.

yeah that's what i getting at, thanks. it's mostly about my own personal hangups though. i literally can't play sf iv or v without a stick but was fine with mvc3 on a pad.

I'm still a bit torn on what I'm gonna use. I have a stick and a dope Sega Saturn pad I can use on PS4 so I'm excited to get my hands on the game and see what is best for me. I could only play MvC3 on stick, I was trash on pad in that game but MvCI feels like a much different game so it does feel more pad friendly IMO.

I'm still in there day 1 simply because I love the Vs series. Having said that, I can understand why others wouldn't be down for that. This isn't a $60 game, much less a $90 game. I don't care about the cinematic story. All of that sounds cute, but everything based around this game as a whole has ranged from disappointing to horrible. Gameplay alone will not sell this game.

It just sucks knowing what this game really could've been. I remember when we were all questioning why Capcom was so silent for so long. It's funny how things make so much sense now in retrospect.

good times

Did Max make a very recent video? The last video he made implied that he was hopeful about the mechanics at the least. Is he mostly dissapointed again. I like what I see on mechanics and the fact that Strider can stand on his own, but it sounds like a bargain bin game.

I still don't believe Venom is DLC. Just doesn't add up that BP and Sigma (S1 DLC characters) would be on multiple covers but Venom wouldn't be on his own.

Anyone think Black Panther and Ryu are fighting in Williamette Parkview Mall in that cover? New stage?

I totally buy Venom as an NPC.

Shit, maybe early Ant-Man talk was just him being an NPC as well.

Things don't have to be asymmetric if most are NPCs anyways.

It's best we accept the 30 character roster now.

How come Capcom never put any Breath of Fire characters in this series? Missed opportunity.

because Breath of Fire is up there with Dino Crisis in franchises they care about.
