And again we bring up the fact that 2D games can get away with more. That plus esports now being a thing for fighting games.

I'm sorry but I don't buy the '2D games get away with more line'.
That doesn't make any sense.

I do buy the 'safe for tv' esports crap though.
I also think is a terrible way to make a video game though.
But money gonna money I guess.

It's a 2d game from the 90s compared to what they would do now with detailed 3D models with close ups and cinematic angles and shit. It's not that hard to understand.

All you have to do for proof is look at violence in a regular ass cartoons. It's pretty obvious, lol.

Imagine the shitstorm that would come from a gif of Jedah slitting his wrist in MvCI with accurate animation from VS.

Little kid just wanted to play as Tony Stark and Thor. He didn't want to see people committing suicide.

I mean. Skullgirls Eliza doesn't self-harm in her moves, does she? I remember she had "blood" attacks but they did not spew out of her wrists and she did not decapitate herself

That's because another character decapitated themselves.

Eliza turned into blood and could send her skeleton out of her body to fight like a puppet character.

It's not an issue to have Jedah as is in a VS game. It's an issue having him feature complete in a crossover gme witn Marvel/Disney. Which is why the skullgirls thing doesn't really compare to him.

Like if they just went and made a new darkstalkers. Unless they pushed more for the gore. They'd probably still get a T rating even with 3D models.

I can't tell if this is a commission or a sneak peak at the next MvC:I variant:

I think it's a commission.

I mean Marvel comics can be plenty gory at times. I can't be the only only who remembers The Sentry ripping Ares in half.

But hell this is a pointless argument. There are so many things more wrong with this game than them censoring Jedah's moves.

Ms Fortune rips her own head off and uses it as a weapon.

Yeah marvel has definitely been gory. But I think it's just an issue of them pushing this as more MCU and casual focus than anything else.

Marvel as of late seems to only allow the gore stuff on comics and TV shows that you need a subscription for

even tho I love that art, here's something that always bothered me about Venom... where is Eddie's face in there?

The symbiote is supposed to cover him, but whats up with the mouth? shouldnt you see eddie's (or whoever is using it) face in there?

I know I know dont overthink it its comics

I think Eddie's face is behind the symbiote's mouth covered by a black lining or something, I think it covers his entire face unless Eddie wants to be seen.

And yeah, I did know about Ms. Fortune, but that still looked different than Jedah

SHIELD as well to an extent, but they pushed that show later into the night in order to get away with more.

Comparing Ms. Fortune plucking her head off and chucking it in a comical fashion to Jedah decapitating himself, slitting his own wrists, and forcing his opponents to sign a blood contract with the devil (himself) makes Dhalsim's stretching look like a joke.

I really hope we get a different stance when playing as spider man.

never did like the arcade (old man hunch back look)
or the super exaggerated stance from the capcom games.

we've already seen Spider-man, its the same as always, the same as every VS game

Welp. It seems to me that they are some how able to copy some of the UMVC3 3d models and re-render them?

Many of the character animation and poses look the same.

... did you just find out the game exists or something?

Nah. I kinda stop caring for a while, just trying to get back and update myself on what's going on....but yeah I need catch up.

Last newb question did all the noise about the faces ever go away-
I thought the models look okay in battle - not so much in close ups I guess.

no it did not.

and the very first models we saw, Ryu, Chun Li, Captain America, Ironman, Morrigan (the other wa Captain Marvel which is new) were all clearly lifted from UMVC3 so its very strange that you are coming in here saying "Spiderman looks like he did in Marvel 3 could they be reusing models?"

There's a day one patch for graphics, other than that there are no changes except some stages make characters look better than others.

cool, so they did listen to the fans (some what)

no it did not.

Strange indeed.
I hardly played UMVC3 - honestly, spider man is the only one who's pose I could never forget do to how funky it is.But now that you mention , yeah that kinda sucks I guess
except for ryu, I actually wouldn't want to change how he's fighting stance is. To classic to change.

I'm still over here tryna wrap my head around the fact that Capcom legit might release a crossover fighting game in the year 2017 with exactly 2 Capcom newcomers in the base roster and no non-mvc3 veterans. Appalling.

I remember when it was first announced and they had X and Captain Marvel and i thought there would be a healthy amount of newcomers and was thinking of all the possibilities, how obviously a power stone rep would be in and obviously Asura would be in, how they could rep the battle Network series or Breath of Fire, your Leon would be in this time, how it could have had Jack Baker.

How hopeful. How naive.

Gameplay looks dope tho.

To be fair, we don't know if Monster Hunter is Day 1 or DLC. Though 1 more newcomer doesn't help much.

As for Jack Baker, RE7 may have been too recent for the base roster.

Depends. If they caught wind of his meme status early on with the demo. As a DLC character i think he'd make the cut probably as the one we don't know about and isn't in the story mode. Hypothetically.

I will say Jack would be the kinda of Bizarro character this game needs to start standing out.
Even people who didn't like RE7 tend to like Jack and it'd be funny seeing what amount to a guy in pajamas beating up super heros. Plus a lot of his stuff would be pretty easily worked around.

He can use his Shovel, Rake, Chainsaw Scissors. Special could be his transformation.
He'd be a cool character all things considered. Though guess it goes back to how wacky things can be. Since the oddest character in the roster currently is frank and even he's not really pushing it.

Jack Baker/Nemesis team would be a cool and terrifying duo. I think with Jack Baker though people are overestimating his popularity and mindshare. Sure he was a character that people liked but only if they played the new Resident Evil and to be fair many people probably still haven't and overall he's just not a recognizable face compared to other Capcom characters. And Jedah is only in the game probably because Ono begged them to put in at least one new Darkstalkers character so it's not really fair to bring him up as a character nobody knows, it's true but we know now that Capcom's decisions are all over the place and hard to pin point.

Exactly my feelings. We all know Capcom are lazy, cheap, recycling fucks but this is on a whole new level. And I was so excited too. :(

At this rate it seems their plan will be to milk the playerbase with most newcomers being DLC. Meaning I will probably skip it entirely until (if) a definitive edition releases in a few years. The problem is that for DLC to sell, people still have to buy the base game, and I have a feeling this isn't going to sell the world on fire sales-wise.

i think everyone around the world should see on ESPN Jedah slit his wrist then laugh maniacally.

If darkstalkers was made today it would not be rated T.
It most likely would. It's filled with over the top references to stuff that is incredibly tame by today's standards. Turn all the blood effects to an odd color and you're good to go with a T rating.

so how does one go about getting one of dem facebook codes for extra 5% off on cdkeys? Ive never used the site.

please be excited to buy returning characters like wesker and vergil because it's the smart business decision to make

she-hulk and modok coming soon, only $5 a pop!

oh please

we all know its gotta be $5.99 a pop.

Well if you buy the character pass then it's 5$ a pop plus a costume for each.

You need to like their FB page and you get a unique code for 5% off. The code only has one usage.

I don't know if one account can use different 5% codes for different orders but it's worth trying anyway.

You know what else I just realized that's also killing me as I was thinking about how the base Marvel side isn't all that bad considering the X-men soft ban? Capcom side got NO redesigns. Captain America looks different (albeit worse), Iron Man looks different, Hawkeye looks different, Dr. Strange looks different, Rocket looks different, Thanos IS different... Most of the Marvel side look just slightly different enough to make you think they're not from the same game.

Capcom side... Idk. Admittedly, not too many of them have variations of the same character, but Chris could have easily been re6 or revelations without changing his moveset at all. Dante could have kept the moves but sported his older dmc1 attire. Give Haggar a shirt that he can rip off. Something to at least make them look as bitb different.

The horrible art direction shouldn't be the only way someone can tell the difference between 3 and I.

Also, Nemesis, Firebrand and Spencer all have pretty much nothing they can add in terms of personality to this game. Since Spencer isn't "rad" he's just gonna be another militant straight man like Chris that talks want good bionic arm all the time, and Firebrand/Nemesis don't speak.

They could have made them 2000x interesting if Spencer was his 80s stereotype, if Nemesis had like a speaker where someone like MODOK was monitoring Nemesis' actions and could communicate to the opponent (just imagine Nemesis getting hit and MODOK yelling at him like "you're putting all my modifications to waste!"), And gave Firebrand a really suave villain voice and made him sound dignified, like the type of villain to sip wine in an email later all relaxed like. Just a little bit to make the game more... Fun.
