It really fucking sucks man. SFV has the (legitimate IMO) excuse of characters and stages being obtainable without paying a dime so the costumes are the most reliable way of income through DLC, but that's not even the case for this game.

Well they might need a reliable way of income if things go the way we think lmao.

Honestly, I'd rather a way to just pay for the things I want, but consumers have had their say and lootboxes are the future.

fully agree but man I really dont want anymore games with lootboxes (it better be cosmetics like Overwatch where we get all characters for free which is coo cause its funding content). I called it before IJ2 released lootboxes was gonna be grindy. I recall a gaf or two (not you guys) was being all positive and stuff saying that I was thinking the worst. And here we are

At least MvCI doesn't have random loot so far from what I can tell so it gets a plus for that

The video UM tyrant posted today is some of the best footage we've seen in terms of high level I'm. It really brought my hype a little higher (I'm at 'Cautiously Optimistic') and you can see how much faster the gameplay looks compared to before (probably not a change of speed but just better players making it look faster). I'd love to see more.

Aksys is the publisher of the game in NA. Arcsys (arc system works) are the developers of BB, GG, and DBZ. I didn't realize until now how close their names were.

Yup, I do. I am a gambling man and optimistic about two characters left for MVCI.

If Venom get in via Base Roster, then I will choose the avatar of my choice for you so you can wear for two weeks if you prefer shorter term.

If Venom get in via DLC then you will choose the avatar of your choice for me to wear for two weeks (if you prefer shorter term).

edit: Iron Fist's absence from the roster (well, one assumes at this point) is probably the most baffling thing in this whole mess in my opinion, given what we know.

He's not a Fox character, in fact, he is a MCU character (like its not a She Hulk or Taskmaster comic only situation), he has a tv show, he's on another tv show, The Defenders, that launches very close to the game, and he has another season of his show coming... like, what? No really... what?

yeah if the random slots are there and not a button it would definately open up another row, once we see the next character select screen at gamescom. Could mean that Venom and hunter can fit in there on the last row with the Random selects.

They just added 14 (!) empty spots for example on the latest path because the latest character had filled up every available slot

I still think we might get Hunter and Venom part of base roster but I'm expecting for the worst however I can't help to hope for the best tho. Here is the character roster that I copied and I added the characters in the roster to point it out.

Also I made one with DLC characters. (those 6 characters were commonly brought up in this thread so I went with it)

Yup, we already saw same thing with early demo of Smash Bros (Brawl and Smash 4), MVC3, etc. I'm just saying that maybe Max should consider about random buttons potentially open up a row.

We will see at Gamescom if we are going to get more characters or not.

I have a terrible feeling that even if there are characters beyond Ghost Rider Capcom will not show them at Gamescom, but wait until sometime in September and reveal them in a final trailer....

Though having someone fitting the demonic theme, like Vergil or Lady announced at Gamescom to throw off the roster parity would be really nice even then...

My expectation is already at low ever since beginning of this hype train. Actually I always have low expectations for the games since it's pretty good way to handle the hype train. I don't see anything wrong with pushing my goal forward for fun.

it annoys me that Gamescom is in Germany so people like Max wont be attending, because if Jedah/Firebrand/Dormammu/Ghost Rider are indeed "revealed" there, I need someone, anyone, to ask them on camera "Is this the final base roster?"
