My hope for the story is that it has minimal dialogue and maximum action scenes.

I got unjuniored a couple of days. Same time as Gbaga and a few others, seemed like they had a policy change on junior status for non-new members.

Your not excited for the possibility of Dante and Rocket Raccoon being best bro's?

Don't forget that one article that said that there were very few character moments because the story mode was all about plot. Which sucks for a cross-over thing, 'cause I want to see the characters interact more and play off each other.

But not in that super badly executed way like in the story demo. 'Cause that was bad. I could practically hear the ®s and ™s when the characters were talking.

That last story trailer was legit good. Makes me wonder if they changed the people who made the previous trailers.

Whoever did the E3 one needs to take note. They need someone in charge of making sure the Public reveals are on point. Especially after SFV. Dunno what is going on. I know they are very in need of people to do things but...

so im about to expose myself... I've never played a Megaman X game.

Thus, I know nothing about Sigma. Can someone educate me on what one can expect from him as a fighting game character?

A little late about the discussion but are you hyped about the game? Yes, even if it gets patched later on like SFV.
Still it releases on September 19th my birthday lol. If it wasn't for Marvel 3 I wouldn´t have entered the FGC which also made me go to local tournaments scenes and meet some great friends that I still hang out today. So I took some days off that my work owes me and I'm ready to play with a couple of old friends that day.

Coming back, regarding the X-men DLC if you have been following the comics now it seems Marvel it's trying to bring them back with.
  1. X Men Blue
  2. X-men Gold
  3. Jean Grey
  4. Generation X
  5. All New Wolverine
  6. Old Man Logan
Among others that I may be forgetting...
Which have been really interesting to read so far specially X-men Blue which is the original team who were pulled from the past to the future.
So my point is I would like for this Jean Grey to returns.. her comics have been pretty interesting not basing her abilities on the good ol' Phoenix force but her on TK/Psychic combat.
Even her own series has her learning from several Marvel characters different moves like Psylocke ninja TK Sais which is really cool.

So I hope if they do return they work a little bit on making them different.
Your thoughts GAF?

Sigma was once a good guy working with X and the other Maverick Hunters to protect humans and Reploids. Then he got infected with the Wily virus which corrupted him and he began to develop a hatred towards humans and Reploids.

His main weapon is usually a laser scythe or a laser sword and he can shoot lasers from his eyes and electricity from his hands. He's pretty tall and agile but otherwise he isn't much different in terms of abilities to X and Zero. His level 3 will probably have him transform into a giant robot.

I'm already over story modes in fighting games. But there's a reason they're basically needed for FGs to sell nowadays where as Overwatch can make a billion dollars with no single player whatsoever.

Devs need to come up with some way to make fighting games less intimidating (auto combos and easy supers aren't cutting it). Or if they're gonna keep doing campaigns, at least make them more interesting than just a bunch of standard AI fights separated by cutscenes.

I actually think this game's story will probably be pretty enjoyable but I still weep on the inside a little when I think of how much of the budget that went into it could've instead gone into making more characters.

I think whatever the Rising thunder devs are working on could change some fighting game conventions. At least for the not so hardcore crowd. Rising Thunder was really interesting mechanic wise.

Also as it's been said. FPS games like Overwatch can get away with MP only because playing with friends can carry them. Aside from that being team based means if you suck you can blame others. Can't really do that in a 1v1 fighting game. Then Of course the skill ceiling is a bit easier to manage there.

Let's see if I can remember...

Sigma was the former commander of the Maverick Hunters. He was infected by the Maverick Virus during a battle with Zero that caused him to go rouge and plan campaigns to destroy humanity. Eventually, Sigma and the Maverick Virus became one in the same, allowing him to revive himself after being destroyed (many, many times...).

Due to him being the main boss in every MMX game, Sigma had different forms and abilities. Seeing as he has the laser blade, it looks as if he's going to lean heavily into his X1 incarnation with a few more tricks.

that's totally going to be a line :(

Ain't no thing like him, 'cept him.

He has a laser sword, Wolverine claws (insert function joke here), grim reaper energy scythe (with which he can perform Round Trip, basically), laser eyes and a robot dog. He's super tall, can jump on walls, shoot electricity, fire and energy blasts, create energy shields that he can toss like Captain America, shoot shit from his mouth, and turn into a giant robot.

He may or may not also turn into a virus cloud.

Good single player campaigns bring good sales out of the great
Great ones like Titanfall 2 and MK9 keep the gravy train going
Ones that don't exist until months after release kill all momentum of the game

Where's my Jin function? Come on Capcom. I want to giant robot fist my enemies. Fisting is my forte here. I tell my stepson all the time:

"If the door is locked and you hear me yell 'BLODIA PUNCH' go back to your room and think of a happy place."

That felt dirty even typing that.

speaking of Wolverine, are there any dive kicks in the game?

Ultron has that kinda dive...punch but its not exactly the same.

I... don't think any of the new characters has a dive kick and non of the returning characters gained one, so no, so far there are no dive kicks in the base game.

Is it too preemptive to suggest that if we get a SFV rep for DLC, that it should be Menat? I feel like she would fit in perfectly for this game.

As much as I'd love for her to be in, she's probably too recent for 2018 DLC. In all likelihood, Marvel & Capcom probably have their 2018 choices locked in, even the 2018 DLC characters have yet to be greenlit.

Yeah that's true. Maybe I can keep hope alive for 2019 haha.

I think she'd be very strong in MVC. Make her SFV v-trigger a 1 bar super, allow her drill kick to be EX'd for OTG, etc. I think it would be cool if you could choose how far her v-trigger orbs travel and to remain stationary, and allow her Crystal ball to "ping" off of them on return (Kinda like that Dr. Strange move). You're welcome for the ideas, Capcom.

His grab wasn't actually a "grab" in the sense of being a throw though, was it? It was like Spider-Man's Web Throw, it could be blocked. Also...Firebrand's unblockable, is it gone entirely or just made blockable?

BTW there are no snapbacks or crossover counters in this huh

PRAISE YOGG, people kept saying Purificatio was a QCF motion now.

NONE
OF
THAT
SHIT

Also, 4 versions of Dark Hole and Purification? WOWIE!

The real news here is that Demon Missile is Air OK now. Holy shit.

translate for us noobs?

edit: I fucking called moves using all 4 buttons btw, for everyone that was crying that characters were losing variations of moves.

Firebrand's changes

Wall Clings/fireballs still exist, fireballs are a lot slower now, haven't tested if it's sped up in Luminous body yet

https://twitter.com/xSHOGUNDo/status/903710802175070209

Full charge swoop is no longer Unblockable BUT you get full crumple on hit and if they get hit in the air you get a wall bounce

https://twitter.com/xSHOGUNDo/status/903734239367016448

Luminous Body does not speed up fireball but does speed up recovery of fireball

https://twitter.com/xSHOGUNDo/status/903734511850086401

Firebrand's fireball patterns are:
LP travel forward
HP diagonal up forward
LK ground flame
HK arcs like SFV Dhalsim Yoga Fire

It's actually bad for Dormammu to get another version of Purification and Dark Hole.

Purification = purple pillar.
Dark Hole = dark...hole

Dormammu has like 4 new moves we haven't seen yet, either.

I am still SUPER PISSED that teleports are d,d motions now. Who wants that shit? If you can put DPs in the game, then you can put RDPs. It's the same fucking motion.

no, translate the firebrand demon missile air KO thing :(

Oh. Demon Missile is his "tatu" move where he charges forward and attacks. It used to only be usable on the ground. Now it has an aerial version, which means his aerial game will be a LOT more diverse and scary.

Demon Missile should've been Air OK even in Marvel 3.

I wonder if one of the Demon Missiles is the Bon Voyage as there are 4 of them.

But I already called it long time ago and I already cited it for certain characters who have four moves variations. Especially with Chris Redfield in demo.
