Well, I completely understand the choices because Chris came from one of most popular franchise that are still alive, and Thor probably because of his upcoming movie.
True, but regardless I would have included Iron Man and Ryu in there as well. And for the other Capcom character, who else other than Firebrand?!

We also just got a thread today about how RE5, the best selling RE game, is still making respectable numbers for Capcom.
I agree and am happy about it too but I get it as Ryu is iconic to Capcom, and Ironman is well fucking Ironman lol. If they want new players they need to attract people with the most familiar faces, which of course Thor and Chris are but not to IM and Ryus level. The marketing of this game must be confusing to outsiders:

Despite being MCU focused, Gamora does not resemble MCU counterpart, etc.

Yeah. Competitively people might not give much of a fuck about him but I imagine when it comes to attracting mainstream attention he can do it better than most Capcom reps.

Iron Man's VA is the exact same VA as (U)MvC3's, Eric Loomis. In fact, him, Captain America, & Hawkeye were the only ones on the Marvel side who kept their (U)MvC3/EMH VAs in MvCI (Eric Loomis, Brian Bloom, & Chris Cox respectively).
Oh wow I didn't know that. It's probably more noticable here given we have a legit story mode therefore more dialogue outside of the mayhem of a Marvel match. I don't think he does a bad job at all, he just sounds a lot like RDJ (which is a good thing).

Yeah, that explains why they got Brian Bloom back as Cap rather than having Roger Craig Smith do both Cap & Chris.
As for Spidey, the new lines just so happen to line up with how he's portrayed in the new cartoon (doubling down on the geek part of Peter).

I thought it was different at first, too. Probably because Iron Man has more of a robotic sound to his voice in MVC3. He sounds normal in MVCI.
I hope the new cartoon ends up being good.
Yeah, I thought it was a different VA at first as well. But when I kept hearing his quotes in that same pitch, it made sense.
I have to say, sadly I am not enjoying Spiderman's VA.
I'll admit that I would've loved if Josh Keaton was voicing Peter once again, but the new guy isn't half bad. At least Drake isn't doing it again.
If I recall, Vanilla MvC3's voice acting was recorded before EMH started (Ex: Brian Bloom doesn't sound like his performance as Cap in EMH). It wouldn't surprise me if they dropped the robotic filter for Eric Loomis' voice after finishing recording for Vanilla MvC3.
The new VA is Robbie Daymond, the voice of Akechi from Persona 5 & Smokey Brown from JoJo Part 2. Josh Keaton has since moved on to voice Scott Lang/Ant-Man & Norman Osborn in the current string of cartoons.I have to say, sadly I am not enjoying Spiderman's VA.
Yeah, the voice direction in Marvel 3 was hit or miss for some characters (Cap sounding off half the time and Vergil just phoning in his iconic lines without the conviction behind them like before. Among a few others as well...)
Realistically, only She-Hulk & Squirrel Girl have a decent chance of getting in (maybe America Chavez, though that may just be my bias talking). I'm not really expecting Kate Bishop for the same reason why I'm not expecting Spider-Gwen (she isn't that unique compared to Clint, much like how Earth-65 Gwen isn't that unique compared to Peter).
Scarlet Witch has a good chance too

That's pretty funny for them to pick those two. I'm guessing the thinking is for the capcom side (Thor has a move coming so that whatever).
RE5 is the still their biggest selling title of all time. So RE5 Chris is a known design. His recent appearance in Not a Hero has Chris effectively as a the biggest RE character this year even if faces are radically different.
That NaH DLC should be out around MvC if they don't delay it more so there's gonna be a lot of Chris in September.
Also I bet different stores got different characters. There's probably like 3 different stands with 6 characters.

I'd be so down with this. An updated younger Jean Grey could add a lot of unique elements.
I know the internets would lose their mind, but I'd be down seeing an All New Wolverine (Laura Kinney) that borrows movesets from both classic Wolverine and X-23.
As far as other X-Men I'd definitely bring in young Cyclops and classic Storm. To add one more I'd add a true newcomer in the form of Nightcrawler.

Laura and Jean are easily the biggest X-Men rn. They'll both have to hit this game eventually.

I feel the same way, I think someone before (Dahbomb maybe?) said it had something to do with "high level" play.
Anyways I think crazy dance, or something involving devil trigger would have been way better.
Honestly Dmc 4 Dante would have been better, but I guess that would have been too much work. I just hope they use an actual Dante costume this time instead of his father.

I don't think She-Hulk have a decent chance this time. If anything, she would be included in the roster by now. Someone brought it up that her comic run didn't really sell as they wanted it to.
This just shows the microscope that MvCI is under (and how little people pay attention to the games). This has been a thing since CotA.
