Much more suited to the Claymore imo. the Reeger is a fantastic gun, possibly my favourite shotgun, but it takes too long to make the same damage as the Claymore. THe AIU is built to take that one BIG shot and then dive or get the hell out of there.

Even after the nerf, im always topping the leaderboard on Gold and she is the only character which makes me look decent on platinum.

We usually run a vorcha and someone with overload to set off explosions for platinum games but we switched it up to biotics. Really fun and a nice change of pace. Its surprising how many of the characters are viable on platinum games when you work as a team

My luck on UR drops has finally turned around too! I love the Lancer, quickly becoming my favorite gun, especially for turians
 
Thanks all for the responses on the AIU. Played for 4 hours last night with 2 buddies and 1 random, AIU's my new primary now! In all, I feel like I don't have anything really good, just a bit anyway. Gotta keep playing to buy more packs

The packs were good to me last night, I unlocked Awakened Collector and the M-7 Lancer. I like the Lancer but I drain the clip far too often. I'll probably couple it with the N-7 Eagle which is the best pistol I have atm (out of 2...) and pull the Lancer out for the big dudes

We're not at Gold level yet, we've been doing Silver and get extraction probably 2/3 of the time. We did try 1 Gold though and got destroyed, only made it to Wave 3.

Is there a pack that gives you higher chances of weapon mods? Not sure if they count as equipment for the Jumbo Equipment pack but they're what I need right now

If you want to unlock all the common mods, buy loads of recruit packs; veteran pack for uncommon; and the premium spectre packs for rares since they're the most bang for buck.

I can play silver with you and your friends if you want. I've been grinding out some challenges on silver. GT is ChocobroBread. I'll be on time to time though, lots of ChemE assignments :|

edit: there's no pack that has a higher chance per say, but that's how I (probably most of us) got weapon mods. Jumbo Equipment pack gives you consumables like rockets, warp rounds, cyclonic modulators, etc.

I got my first UR weapon this weekend in god knows how fucking long. I think i haven't seen one in a month. Talon VI. I suppose having a bunch of rare weapons, characters, mods and gears left to max isn't helping though. Well, at least i'm getting close to having all my gears maxed. If only Arsenal Packs really had a higher chance for them...

looks like cheap packs it is, I'm sitting on like 70000 credits so I should be able to buy a bunch next time I play. you'll hate playing with my group, trust me. I'll keep you in mind if we're looking for a 4th though, thanks man.

I enjoy both, but it should be said that against anything but armor, the Reegar is easily outclassing the Claymore in dps, it doesn't have the same 'instant' burst as the Claymore, but you empty the clip in like 2 seconds, in which time you can kill multiple enemies, nuke the shields of any boss, and so on. It's also a much more forgiving gun, especially against enemies like phantoms. Ultimately I probably prefer the 'feel' of the claymore on her as well, but I think the Reegar is just as strong a choice. The Reegar is probably the only gun in the game that I might classify as better than the Harrier; it only loses because its not as easy to use, but the dps of that gun is orders of magnitude beyond any other weapon.
 
I agree with Oblivionmancer. Went through a number of shotguns with the AIU and settled on the Reegar.

The Claymore just seemed too... Inconsistent. I had it with the Smart Choke and High-Velocity mods, dead-on aim, and I just couldn't nail those high-damage shots regularly enough even on boss targets—and that wasn't just due to lag, as I primarily play as host. Not that I wasn't still toppin' the scoreboard, but I had to stop bringing the Claymore with me into Platinum matches because of that.

The Wraith worked pretty well too. Gonna try her with it again once I get it leveled up a bit.

Aren't spectre packs a better deal for uncommons?

They cost three times as the veterans, you get 3 uncommons as well as a bonus rare.

Really I just got bored of using those :P I still use the Reegar on my Warlord. It pairs too well to pass up.

Is anyone having success with the Arc Pistol? The Executioner has taken its place alongside the Talon as my go-to pistol. I tried the Arc Pistol a while back and hated it. Maybe I need to give it a third try. I may even give the Suppressor a run. Just looking for the perfect pistol to use on my Asari Huntress.

Right now for pistols I use:
1. Acolyte (Primary for Geth Trooper and secondary on almost everyone else.)
2. Executioner (Primary for Asari Huntress)
3. Talon (Primary for any class that needs to apply ammo powers such as Soldier/Slayer.)

I use pistols with Power Amps and Heavy Barrels almost exclusively. I can swap out the HB, but on most kits the Power Amp is not optional.

I can't really disagree, I don't use them too often anymore either. The Harrier only really goes on my Ghost, which is of course where it is the most broken, because the only reason I bring that character out is to turn on easy mode when trying to survive crappy pug games. I actually don't think the Harrier is much beyond 'good' on classes other than infiltrators, without the cloak bonus its damage is merely solid, and the lack of ammo can actually start to be a problem when it actually takes more than a few rounds to kill something.

The Reegar is actually the much greater offender, its dps is so far off the charts that you almost can't even tell the difference that a cloak bonus makes except against bosses. It's kind of astonishing that it hasn't taken any nerfs to its damage. You could cut it by 20% and you wouldn't even notice except against armor.

Really not a fan of the Arc Pistol. It's weird because I see people on BSN singing it's praises with some degree of frequency, but my most recent experience with it is slapping it on a GI (who can make any gun passable) to grind through the challenge for it. My pistols of choice are mostly similar to yours, though I don't really like the Executioner that much. It's fine, but most kits that I'd run it on feel better with the Talon, I think. I do sometimes like to run the Scorpion as a secondary on kits that lack good crowd control options, it works wonders on the Turian Soldier for stagger-locking phantoms and hunters. I also had some success with it on the Collector adept, to give him some crowd control between those long cooldowns, but said cooldowns make it tough to justify on him, as it's too heavy to run along with a second gun while keeping a near 200% cooldown. The Scorpion is super weak on armor, and the Collector's biotic explosions are too weak to pick up the slack.

Agreed on pretty much everything as usual. For dealing with armor I'm leaning more heavily on the BPP lately. It's hard to beat that anti-armor effectiveness and ability to carry HVB/Power Amp.

BSN praise of the Arc Pistol is part of why I'm considering giving it a try.

The Executioner didn't win me over at first. However, its native armor penetration meant I didn't have to choose between AP mod or the HB. This was perfect for my Huntress as a means to quickly dispatch Guardians. Even on teams where I'm the only Biotic stacking all that power damage is extremely effective on Platinum. The BPP and Hurricane are probably both better primary options, but I can't argue with the results I'm getting. Also, it's a lot of fun to use.

I play on PC and it's not hard to find people thankfully. :) I usually find a group in a few seconds. Can take a while longer if you create your own lobby though.


I like the Arc Pistol because you have the choice to either shoot very quick weak bullets, or a stronger one if you charge it.
 
Well just tried to hop on and couldn't connect to the EA server, was connected to live the whole time, tried reconnecting, dashboarding, rebooting my box. Weird and dumb.
 
The Harrier is just all-around solid, but the only class that I feel that it "belongs" to other than the Ghost is the Justicar.

Using the initial, pre-pull buff build 6/6/0/6/6 (damage/warp bubble + area DR reave, weapon damage) you can kick out insane amounts of damage with warp ammo and you pave the way for all other biotic users on the team as well. Keep reave going, bubble choke points, play smart and its just too easy.
 
Any tips or character/map recommendations for soloing gold? I'm gonna give it a go tomorrow. I've never genuinely tried but I want to knock lone wolf challenge out. I've done platinum with 3 and gold with 2 but never by myself. I've seen plat. videos of guys using vorcha or geth trooper w flamer.

I was lucky and did my 2 gold solos before they nerfed the AIU.

I did them on White; large enough to distance yourself if needed, but with plenty of cover so you don't get shot from across the map.

Gold Geth Firebase Giant is pretty easy. No sync kills + a big map to kite everything. Bring along a Geth Scanner if you have one and a kit your comfortable in (I did it with an AIU post nerf). For the objectives; Escorts & Uploads will be done halfway before enemies get near. If you get rushed, run to the opposite side of the map, don't kill anything, then run back to the objective when the mob gets too close to you. Do the same for Pizza Deliveries if you get swamped. Hacks are a little bit harder cause of the timer just make sure you kite everything around. Also make sure you save 4 rockets for round 10 just in case you get the enemies objective during that wave.

Kroguard on Glacier/Geth is easy mode. Spec for weapon passives and fitness, use a Reegar with magazine/shredder/incendiary, wear Cyclonic III/IV and kill everything. Charge when it starts to hurt. The only thing that gave me problems was devices on wave 10; missiles took care of that.

Played for another 4-5 hours last night, had a full group of me and 3 of my buddies this time.

I took Chocobro's advice and bought a crap ton of cheap packs. Seriously through the course of the night, probably 8 of the Recruit packs, maybe 5 of the Veteran packs, 1 Spectre, and 1 Premium Spectre.

I ended up getting 2-3 of the Assault rifle stability mods and an increased damage pistol mod; I was in serious need of both and want plenty more. I'll probably rotate between Spectre, Premium Spectre, and Arsenal packs from now on.
 
I experienced a ridiculous bug tonight. I specced my talon merc with cylonic mod 4, strength enhancer 3 and drill rounds 3.

every time I hit LT to zoom, the camera would focus on the ground or at my feet. when id run the camera would zoom on the ground.

had to quit since it was unplayable. lost all my consumables as well.

these continuous bugs are fucking ridiculous.

dont bother. get vet packs till u max out your common and uncommon weapons. then upgrade to spectre and psps.

Experienced something similar to that when I was doing a solo GI Hydra/Geth/Gold run a short while back. I didn't even have to run or aim down my sights, it was stuck like that even while I was walkin' around. Happened right after I revived myself for the first time in Wave... 7, I think it was? I was pissed. >:I

By the way, what were you up to earlier? Tossed a couple of invites your way for some Gold runs, and I didn't even get a response.

I had that on a previous build. Wanted to try something different. The added movement speed is nice to circle strafe enemies and helps a bit with survivability. But yeah, if I were to respec again, I might consider damage taken since she is a bit lacking in taking down bosses. It also helps the whole team. On the other hand, her focus is on killing mooks, so I might stick with it.

really? I didnt see any mate I played gears of war for about 30 mins and logged off.

Got in a game of Collectors/Gold with my Asari Huntress and Arc Pistol. Popped a lot of heads. It's really hard for me to in a rhythm with it, but results were better than I expected. Will have to try again against a faction with smaller heads.

Double UR Pack! Haven't had one of those in ages. Slowly closing in on maxxed manifest again.
 
Charge is inconsistent, it wants to not work when I'm really in the shit. Haven't used vanguards in a looooooong time

Thanks for the recommendations, guys. I died on wave 10 with the 4 nodes. Time for round 2

Don't forget. The Krogan heavy melee has a very large damage reduction associated with the animation. When charging into a big group an immediate heavy melee can be quite helpful. Probably already know all this, but if it helps!

No idea why the lack of Talon AP was such a big deal to me.
Still going to use the Executioner from time to time since it's such a neat little gun.
 
I just started out with this. Got advice to buy 99k packs only, and have mostly followed it. I want to access all the characters, is there a cheaper way to do this than buy 99k character packs? This is because I've maxed out my Engineer and Vanguard to level 20, and so I think whenever I get one of those engineer cards with 25k XP, it's "wasted".

Also, is there a way to get a respec card without dropping a ton of money? Damn, this reminds me of the FIFA FUT store... @%$#%ing microtransactions.

thats pretty shitty advice and its been covered in this thread 1000x.

recruit pax. veteran pax. spectre then either psp or arsenal depending on what you need. max out the first before going on to the more expensive pax.

If you don't have a respec card, you can just promote your class back to lvl 1 if you need to reassign your powers. It's not as fast as a card of course, but the option is there.

I tried this and disagree. Cerberus is a lot less difficult than Geth.

I know Geth dont have sync kills, but the rocket troopers are really annoying along with the geth bombers.

Also, the Primes are more difficult than Banshees or Atlases because they spawn turrets and drones endlessly and with one person its difficult to take care of them all.

I lasted until wave 7 with the geth it really annoyed me (Using the AIU). Going to try with cerberus later.

I DON'T KNOW. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY RESERVE PACKS I'VE BOUGHT.

In fact, the most recent one I bought gave me two Drill Infiltrator cards. Like, c'mon.
 
What would be a better way to spec the AIU:
  • Repair Matrix - Survivability/Shields Restored
  • Unshackled AI - Weapon Damage/Damage & Capacity, Pistols & Shotguns/Weapons Damage
  • Fitness Module - Melee Synergy/Fitness Expert

I've gone with the power, weight and shields route, but I wonder if it would be more effective with more weapon damage. And I also wondered whether power damage increased cloak/shotty damage.
