Buildings under construction are extremely flammable. I'm gonna guess that they were pretty close to being done because of the way it's burning and the integrity of the building.

For fires like this, firefighters would perform a surround and drown operation. Basically, there's no reason for them to perform any searches or aggressively attack the fire. While these types of fires are spectacular to witness, they are extremely boring for firefighters. Most of the time firefighters are on a house line or standing around.

The only two things to worry about really are a collapse or a drop in water pressure.

Yes there were only just starting to apply windows and exterior materials. I pass by this building from time to time during my commute and there's zero chance of any legal residents.

I hope the fire didn't cause damage to the actual bridges and freeways nearby. A closure of the 110/101 of any scale would be catastrophic to say the least.

So, any ideas what could have caused this? Arson?
