Lol one is your grandma who always has fresh cookies at her house and slips 20 bucks into your hand when you give her a hug and the other is that dower aunt who smells like sour wine who shows up to family functions and tries to make depressing small talk while constantly forgetting your name.

I saw a clip of the Queen visiting today while a man in the background screamed in terror due to PTSD. I have no doubt that as someone who was a young woman in WW2 she's more than aware of the kind of horror that can be visited upon people.

With regards to the exposed pipes, that seems to be standard procedure for council places these days.

My parents live in a council flat in Streatham Hill and she needs work done but has been putting it off because she has been told that they would have replace the fire in the living room and they will need to run a pipe along the wall where a sofa currently is.

I believe the reason was ease of future access but I'm not 100% sure. So basically they want to make it cheaper and easier for future repairs regardless of how that affects the fucking people who live in their 365 days a year!

Demonstrations and protests starting up it seems.
It's gonna be the hottest day of the week tomorrow; I wouldn't rule out things really kicking off. People in the crowds are already citing awareness of the cheaper, more flammable cladding used to cover the tower.

Surprised this isn't getting more US coverage. That club fire in Brazil that killed 200+ people got much more.

Have they confirmed a body count yet or are they still assessing it?

Yeah I have been surprised at the little coverage myself with left leaning YouTube channels like tyt, secular talk etc.

I think it just shows how disconnected they are from other countries.

In fairness, the US is having a pretty crazy week with regards to the President. It's like our nations are competing on who can have the most batshit crazy year.

The US media usually doesn't cover news from other countries, and the President of the US is currently being investigated for crimes; it's a double whammy of pretty much total blackout on the fire.

Wait, exposed gas piping is happening across multiple buildings?

Jesus Christ.

Hope the protests stay chilled. It can sometimes bring out the idiots looking to break shit, zero excuse for that.

I totally understand the anger and despair but it will take time, people need to understand that and stick to helping family and friends suffering from the fire while the authorities get on with it. Be peaceful, strong and focused.

It's strange. They were fine with showing the signs protesters had pinning things directly on the Tories, but not the Downing Street protest?

I imagine there is a element of safety to it rather than anything sinister. It would be like broadcasting there is a house party at a friends house and look who turns up.

Jesus Christ... That wailing person on Sky news... Even the Queen looked like she was struggling to maintain composure.

Still managed to have a laugh with the guy she was talking to.

Following this story has affected me much more than I would have thought. Hearing the multiple stories from survivors and the revealing of systematic corruption and incompetence has really stuck with me.

This is going to be a turning point for this country I think, it just feels different now in no way I can remember and I can't see it calming down.

We need a change, we need the Conservatives wiped from the political planet.

BBC being very selective in their reporting. 'They want answers', no mention of the chants of 'May out!' or the march at Downing Street.

Sigh, there was a moment after the election where it felt like they had found their backbone again...guess not.

She said that the royal family had upstaged the Prime Sinister, that people didn't want to wait years for a public inquiry etc.

Thanks.

They must hate social media, because they probably still think they can keep everyone from finding out about those chants.
It's the same story with how they deliberately changed the statement from the leader of Sinn Fein telling May her deal with DUP was in violation of the Good Friday Agreement.

I would almost bet that's part of the intent behind the new internet legislation and efforts to gain control over social media is about.

Yep passionate and pissed off but didn't get nasty
This is what I have been extremely pleased with in regards to the recent tragedies, the left have been informed and clear on what their issues are.

Instead of your typical daily mail reading question time audience member who spouts hate and baseless opinions we have seen a huge swell of people stating facts and having clear messages with far reaching implications.

I think it's clear social media has really been a boon for the disenfranchised and I think it can only be a hug benefit for the future.

Hey, it's David Vujanic on Sky news.
Holy shit he's good. That was passionate as hell. He made some great points about those who say it's "tough to identify the bodies so people shouldn't be protesting". He explained people are angry because the fire was avoidable and this happened because of gentrification. He shat on sky news and BBC bews because they're trying to spin that people are protesting because there aren't official body counts yet. Juxstapositioning "the PM is putting support in place" with "people are angry because they aren't getting enough information" is bullshit. That's not why people are pritesting.

"It's not like the photos" is a good point. They're constantly repeating that people are angry whilst showing the same confrontation over and over again in the crowds to make it seem like it's a violent protest. People don't buy into the media's bs. Please.
