Episode 8
That's heart warming. Really brought a smile
Edit:
is this about episode 9. But that episode kind of reflects a relationship episode theme. Condensed in an episode.
Liked him in Parks & Rec worth watching?
Hmn, we stopped watching after 20 minutes. We didn't think it as funny at all.

Someone in this thread stopped watching it because it wasn't 16:9.lmaoo..20 minutes? Are you a giant head from outer space?
I always give a new show at least 2 episodes.
Episode 2 onwards is great, give it another shot.
it gets better. Give it 3 episodes.
Not sure. The way they deliver jokes just doesn't work for me and i doubt they'll suddenly start becomming funny.lmaoo..20 minutes? Are you a giant head from outer space?
Notes on the Nashville episode as someone who lives in Nashville:
When they're trying to figure out where to eat, and they point over towards a building, in real life I'm fairly positive they're standing next to a Hooter's. The BBQ place they go to also isn't real. Every spot they visit is on one street in town except for the hotel which is several blocks away. There's no way you could get to the airport in 12 minutes from downtown where they were staying. That is all!
Indeed. I googled ticklers bbq because it looked good and white bbq sauce intrigued me. Why not use a real restaurant lol
Probably couldn't get any real restaurants to shut down for a few hours to film.
And I'm going to guess they filmed most interior scenes in New York.
True but i also had to watch three episodes of the Wire before i began to like it (one of my fav. Tv series now).if the show doesn't catch it. It doesn't.
forcing yourself to watch is not really enjoying the show
We couldn't get into it after 2 episodes... the acting in particular felt really bad, as if most of the scenes were the first take...
I'm reading that it gets better, but what does? Am I still going to have issues with the acting?
Yeah probably not for you. I laughed in all episodes, more in some than others.True but i also had to watch three episodes of the Wire before i began to like it (one of my fav. Tv series now).
However, this is comedy. I should have had laughter in episode one i think.

Episode 2 is with his real life parents, which is the main issue with the acting in that episode.
Overall this is just a poor man's version of HBO's brilliant Hello Ladies in every regard, but still pretty enjoyable.
Whose acting did you dislike? I thought the parents in particular were awful actors and of course kids(ep 1) aren't reliable actors either. Arnold and Brian were really weak too but good news, I'm at episode 6 now and neither got much screen time in episodes 3-5. If anything just watch episode 4(the order in which you watch the episodes hasn't mattered so far anyway) and see how you like it.

I don't think Stephen Merchant was as likeable a lead in Hello Ladies as Aziz is in this. Both great shows, but I'd definitely put this a league above

The acting was so bad in episode 2, it was hard to make it through the episode. How big a role do the parents play in the rest of the season?
Saw the parents episode. Yeah Devs parents were awkward but im sure they had fun doing their roles.

You don't see them again until the finale.
