I am PC exclusive gamer and I own a PS4. I got it this year. For free and I have never played it. My kids do.

Remember the Blu-ray and dvd movies, these are going out now, and its all stream, digital now. This way, movie companies make more money, without wasting money on dvd, store and warehouses labor.

You are underestimating how much resources Sony has, compared to MS.

MS has to dedicate time, to find the writers, equipments, sound effects. And all those tools needed to make the game.

While Sony owns a movie studio, music studio. Both of these studios have talented people.

Its why Sony games are high quality. All these talents helps the studio make a good game.

Ms will need to partner with other studios to do it.

Ms has the big wallet. But not the resources in these market.

Money=/=resources

You can spend as much money as you want, but you won't have the talented departments Sony has.

Where are you getting this from? Which SONY MUSIC talent helped on Spiderman? What writers from SONY MOVIE studios came in and helped touch up the script on TLOU2? Why would ANY game development studio choose music and writing talent with no experience working in the games medium over established industry talent? You're really overstating the source of SONY's first party success and taking it away from where it belongs (with industry veterans that know how to make a good game from top to bottom).

That is a fair point for as long as the semiconductor shortages drag on, but if/when things begin to normalize, the next-gen of $200-$300 tier GPU will run circles around PS5 thanks to AI Upsampling (be it DLSS, Intel XeSS, or whatever AMD cobbles together). The 3060's arguably already do in many titles.

Hey we'll see. That would be phenomenal honestly. Personally I think we're running out of road here in terms of what consoles can achieve (absent a global pandemic).

. . .however, this still rests on SONY ever deciding to go full parity in terms of release date with their games, which I don't see happening as long as consoles are so profitable.
