It seems a bit weird to fire him for speaking out about Lita this late in the game. Maybe he asked for his release. I could see him not wanting to deal with Lita/Edge on a daily basis and rather go to TNA or just get a job.

Honestly, I think Christian has made more of his opportunity post E&C split. Sure, Edge has gotten the pushes, but he hasn't done much with them up until this point - but Christian has really grown into his character. The smarmy, cowardly heel with big-man backup never gets old, and his sneer works perfectly. His new entrance music works well too.
Edge can't cut his hair or else his massive Leno-jaw will overpower his face. As a result he's trapped inside his gimmick. The generic rage thing needs focus - it was interesting when he was zeroed in on Shawn Michaels, but now it's just the same old "I WANT THE CHAMPIONSHIP ARRGGGHGH" nonsense we've been subjected to for the past 9 months. I hope (yeah yeah I know) that the storylines that lead up to his feud with Batista post-Backlash give him an opportunity to show some more personality on the mic. It's there - we all saw it during the Edge & Christian tag team run when they were nigh unstoppable - but he hasn't done shit since. Some good Smackdown six matches notwithstanding.

Matt was released mainly due to the way he aired his dirty laundry between hm, Edge and Lita. Right out in public.
I guess they weren't a fan of his take on the story... sure. Whatever, fire one of your better performers because HE got fucked over by a notorious slut in Lita and a repeated adulterer in Edge.

TNA's X division just got MUCH MUCH stronger though... which is more or less the only thing worth watching in it. I mean, their uppercard is far too filled with has beens. Of course, they will probably book Matt at the top just because of his marketability.

Well...Edge didn't fuck her live on the internet. TNA is the Jeff Jarrett show. The way the financials are looking and the way their own channel is bashing them daily, I think it is only a matter of time before TNA is DOA and people will be begging Vince to hire them.

Yeah; not trying to bash TNA (I've barely even seen one of their network shows), but I don't think a show with so many has-beens and fired WWE wrestlers is going to be able to compete with Vince and his "empire." They're going to need some heavy financial backing to be considered competition IMO.

I can. I'd much rather see him face people who arent gay and dont suck balls in the ring like Jeff.
Daniels, Styles, Shane, or Skipper seem much better opponents to me.
Looks like this may have been a mutual decision. Hardy was originally offered a spot in the WM ladder Match and they even shot vignettes for it. Dont know if those were shot before the story broke.. could be the case that the WWE kept him out of the match themselves once the story broke.
