He just won the great biker buildoff on DC against the best bike creators in the industry 2 years in a row. Amazing feat only equaled by the late Indian Larry (who placed 2nd this year with his chain frame bike).

2004 winner is the "Chingon". This innovative bike went for around a quarter million featuring the very first hydrolics landing mechanism alleviating the need for a kick stand. IMHO, Sex on wheels.

2005 winner which was just crowned tonight was the dubbed the "V-Lux". Featuring the same hydrolic system as the Chingon but with an oldschool feel complete with sissy bar. 360 Tires make this the biggest rear tire support ever on a bike. IMO not as good as the Chingon but awsome in its own right.

Looks F-ing huge.

How fast does it go?

No Clue but The Harley Davidson V-Rod is a powerful quality engine at 110 horsepower packed into this small VT. I would guess a little over 140.

So apart from these bikes been a bit outlandish and I guess nice artistically, what's so great about them?

I mean, nice lines are nice and all... but good stuff is only really good when it looks good and performs well.

In this case, I'd want these buggers to compete with superbikes!

I mean... did you see a picture of the 550hp bike? So big it needed 4 wheels (2 right next to each other, front and back)... and wasn't even built to be driven! That outdoes these bikes by heaps :p

Your referring to "Theme Bikes" built by huge specialty teams as prototypes not meant for practical use. I don't see how you can compare those to Bikes built by independently owned designers. The bike you mentioned had a build budget of what like a few million? Concept teams as big as my extended family I don't think would count as a single "greatest builder". Matt Hotch makes the best quality bikes for independently owned bike designers.

BTW you gotta picture of that bike? I think I know which one your talking about.

Nice bike. Do the Teutl's from Orange County Chipper of Jessie James enter bikes in this contest (limits of my bike knowledge)?

The TOMAHAWK was never sketched, but modeled directly from Alias Wavefront software. Walters worked with RM Motorsports of Wixom, Michigan, to make this (mainly) aluminum 500-hp beast. About that firm he says, "They do mostly historic vehicle restoration-but 'restoration' is an understatement: They can build a car-;or bike-from scratch." You might think that the Tomahawk would cause severely burned inner thighs. But there's a belt-driven turbine fan thatforces air into the hollow box where the gas tank would ordinarily be, which leads to two radiators and then to stainless steel headers that duct the air out the back. According to Walter, the 1,490-lb. bike, if re-geared, could probably hit 230 mph to 250 mph, not the 300+ mph or more that was bandied
about.

"The fact that it got made in a corporation such as DaimlerChrysler is very significant. The support that it received"-CEO Dieter Zetsche and COO Wolfgang Bernhardt quickly gave it the green light"at such a high level says a lot about the enthusiasm at the corporation."
-Designer Mark Walters on the Tomahawk.

The Dodge Tomahawk can reach 60 miles an hour in about 2.5 seconds, and has a theoretical top speed of nearly 400 mph.

No to both.

I hate that I missed this episode (I completely forgot about it) but I'm sure that it'll be repeated many times.
