when will more revolution news be announced?

Matt responds: Shortly after the Leipzig Games Convention. I don't have an exact time frame -- it could be a day or a week, but I don't expect it will be much longer.

Some bastard is out to tortue Nintendo fans these days. First the Zelda delay and now a vague rumor about possible upcoming Revolution news.

Of what ? There is a release date ? Didn't know. Or do you mean that vague "close to the PS3". Maybe it is the announcement of the announcement what the Revolution really is.
 
This whole Zelda delay is really weird. I remember Nintendo harping on the fact that they would launch Revolution very close to competitors (read: Sony) because they didn't want to make that mistake again like they did with GameCube...and now you have them delaying Zelda to March-April 2006...which should be around the Revolution launch date if they want to keep with PS3. What the hell are they gonna have this Christmas for GC??

One week after the Leipzig Games Convention:

Nintendo announced today that it will be announcing the final name, launch window, and revolutionary features later this year!

OMG SPACEWORLD!
 
A safe bet is that they announce that the console will be out in time for next holiday season, just so people won't forget them completely after all the 360 news.

That was hardly vague. Nintendo has been saying that their new console would be released at the same time as the competition's consoles ever since talks about a GameCube successor began. They later changed that statement a bit, when it became clear that MS would be releasing the 360 early. They said they saw Sony as their main competitor and that they wouldn't release their console after Sony. If Nintendo manages to release a technically inferior console after the consoles of MS and Sony have been released, they are done for.

I am not expecting any real news though. They'll probably give the console it's final name (maybe final casing) and release some screens of games which are in development. I don't expect them to show the controller or the revolutionary aspect just yet. They'll probably hold a separate show just for that.

Matt's track record has been pretty spot on in the past. Also, Reggie said expect something in August at the GDC.
 
He made a later post about the fact that his info is very solid and that he felt he would just drop the hint in N-Query for the time being.
 
Makes sense to get the bad news (Zelda) out the way before the good (Revolution).

Assuming the Revolution news is good of course :)
 
If I'm not mistaking Iwata said at E3 they would reveal Revolution details before this fall otherwise they would be in trouble,so I think this rumor could be true.

They'll show the REVOLUTION version of the screens just released so we can see what the TURBO does for GC titles.

I think this plays into the speculation that the controller can become hot and cold as you hold it. Imagine it being really cold during an Ice level of Mario or being really hot when you get too close to lava. That's cool and all but it better be something better than that.

It one of those interviews where Miyamoto(or was it Iwata?) said if they showed you a picture, it would be revealing too much. You can't tell a controller can become hot or cold from a picture.

EDIT: Also think of the premise of Resident Evil 5. You have to keep out of the sun. The controller getting REALLY hot could be an indicator for you to find shade.

Jesus christ NO it has nothing to do with that.

That would be way too expensive, consume FAR too much power, and be HIGHLY impractical.
