Since you guys are all now confident after, like, a single day of polls, put your money where your mouth is - Ladbrokes have The Big DC at 1.66 to be the next PM. Go make some money.

what is their terms though, as if that is based on them getting a queens speech through then Ladbrokes are ripping you off, if it is literally be PM on Monday, then yes that is good odds

Average of £150,000 a year for my guy, but I didn't vote for him either way.

I secretly hope Russell Brand's endorsement leads to a comfortable boost for Labour from the youth vote.

In Bath, I'm seeing different party signs every other house. On face value it seems really mixed around here, though based on the last few elections, the city is Lib Dem centric.

Ladbrokes said:
Who will be the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom when the first government is formed after the next UK general election. This market will be settled on the formation of the first ministry (government) after assent is given by the reigning monarch after the next UK general election.

I just took a look though and their exchange is so illiquid that it's giving weird results - Cam was 1.7 then Ed was 1.81.

On Betfair - the king of all exchanges - it's a bit more sensible: DC is 1.9, Ed is 2.1 (which is how it should be).

Weren't there lots of young people tearing up their polling cards and tweeting pictures of them to him? It's a shame he didn't interview Ed earlier.

BNP are left of Labour? Admittedly, I can't say I've looked closely at their official policies, but that seems very questionable.

left right refers to economic policies.

the majority of the backlash against BNP were their stance on social issues. which is why they are firmly authoritative.

If they had poll cards then they can still vote. It's the ones he told not to register to vote because it just encourages, they're the ones he's robbed of a vote.

Edit: I just stuck £40 on Labour getting most seats on the exchange. Obviously it's in play so I reckon I can make a small profit. Small chips compared to my enormous and continuing sports gambling habbit but it makes losing much easier to take.

ICM are late. Not that I mind, it gives me more opportunity to slowly have a last minute surge and overtake kmag, as the forecasts predicted.

My favorite quote of the day so far from my facebook:

Saying that, I watched a documentary on Vice about a very small group of young British muslims trying to persuade people in their community to not vote, as it goes against their religion.

Meanwhile, they were all moaning about their marginalisation and various policies which they view as directly targeting them.

Was pretty silly - if you believe an entire demographic of people shouldn't vote then of course your interests are not going to be served. Of course you're going to be unrepresented when it comes to important decisions which impact your daily life.

Those are interesting terms. Technically if Cameron refuses to leave and puts forward a Queen's Speech, even if it immediately gets defeated an Ed becomes the Prime Minister, Cameron would have been considered the 'next Prime Minister' by Betfair's terms. I think I would (very narrowly) favour Cameron under those conditions too.

I'm pretty sure they robbed themselves if they put that much stock into a celebrity and not themselves.

Voted Labour on my way to work this morning. Somehow I was at the top of their list at my polling station in Halifax.

I don't particularly relate to any of the two main parties but primary concern is keeping the Tories from getting in again. I'd have probably voted Green otherwise if it wasn't just a wasted vote.

Lol, Liberal Democrats have been polling low for quite some time.

Their support has been hit hard ever since going into coalition.

Most polls have seen a pretty big UKIP drop off, though, from 16% to now (mostly) 10-11% Frankly I'm hoping their supporters stay in the pub after work and miss voting time....

Any live coverage to watch? Or will that start later?

9pm: Channel 4 - Alternative coverage with Paxman, Last Leg, Gogglebox. Through the night with C4 News team.
9pm: Sky News - Rolling through the night

9.55pm: ITV - Rolling through the night

Nothing until 10pm of note due to legal restrictions on influencing things.

ICM final poll has labour ahead by one point. Seems the phone polls are all showing a late labour swing. Of course all this does is bring them into line with the online polls.

It was quite funny, LBC have been going gangbusters (and doing great coverage) of the election for the last month, and this morning Nick Ferrari was talking about cycle lanes.

Forget the past year, go back a year. They're all around £150k+ in expenses!

Note that the older years seem more comprehensive; I think it's just that the most recent data is incomplete. Most notable seems to be staffing costs, which aren't on the 14-15 table

Such a strange British tradition - especially as our broadcasters have far tighter regulations on impartiality than print or the now huge online market.

I kind of like it though - it's so quiet on the news channels today.

Yeah, news programming is at a bit of a loss on the day of an election. The Today program basically talked about Greece and then VE day recollections (which was actually a very decent section).

There's not much happening internationally at the minute so they don't even have that distraction. I see a few channels are showning embed footage from the med migrant response operation but other than that there's nowt really for them to talk about.

It helps that Don Foster was a really good MP for so long. There's bound to be a bit of inertia there.

If they received a polling card, they can still vote whether or not it's intact.
