Watch NJPW people. Nearly all the problems WWE has are non-existant in NJPW. For example, the current (2-time?) champion is 25 years old. 25! Like they saw a young guy with a ton of talent and didn't put him through some wacky hazing period or job him out to 50 year old "legends" who can barely wrestle anymore. They gave him the most important belt. Twice! At least! Maybe more! I don't know because I just started watching!

Speaking of the belt, it is sacred. At one point the camera stops following the Tanahashi/Okada match to do a close-up of the belt. You can see the prize they're fighting for! Also, there is actually a ceremony to bestow the belt on a new winner. They get a certificate, some trophies, and then someone puts the belt on them. They don't even have to do it themselves!

Look, there is a shit ton of wrestling out there, and it's tough to keep up with everything unless you're a hardcore enthusiast. But you don't have to worry about any of that stuff. NJPW is good enough that you don't really need to go anywhere else. I better see some god damn Dontaku discussion next week and it better be more people than Bootaaay, Sunflower, and FallingEdge, or whoever else talks about Japanese wrestling all the time. New blood! Come on!

How soon does the stream go up on-demand after the event's done? It's board meeting season, so to commit, I'd have to watch it in chunks.

I can track down a N.J.P.W. primer that made its way around the internet a few months ago, but can anyone just help me out? I can't believe Marvel hasn't pumped out an Avengers game that isn't the super deformed stuff or Kinect bullshit. I guess they've spent this time on Marvel Heroes or something. Captain America was a pretty decent game. Didn't play the Thor or IM games. The Hulk tie in was okay since it was basically a reskinned Ultimate Destruction, which is probably the best comic book game after the Arkham series. The 2005 Punisher game was outstanding as well.

Does DC have any good games that don't involve Batman? I really can't think of anything decent outside of The Death and Return of Superman all the way up to LEGO Batman 2, which I'm not sure should count as A. It is a LEGO game and B. It is a Batman game. What the fuck, there was a Flash game for the Genesis? Has anyone played that?

Marvel has numerous pretty awesome Spidey games from SNES up to today, a few really solid and one or two great X-Men/Wolverine games, a great Hulk game, pretty good Cap games from NES/SNES/Arcade and the movie tie in, at least one awesome Punisher game, the Marvel vs Capcom stuff, and a few full Marvel Universe games that range from decent beat em ups to the awesome Ultimate Alliance games. DC has a bunch of Batman games.

Looks like it's On Demand for a week after the event airs. I don't know how soon they upload though. This will be the first PPV I order from them. The event starts in like three and a half hours so I would check their ustream sometime tomorrow or Saturday.

I can't help you much with the characters. The only ones I'm really familiar with right now are Okada, Okada's friend, Suzuki, Tanahashi, Nakamura, and Davey Boy Smith Jr. What I've observed from them so far;

Kazuchika Okada - Current IWGP Heavyweight Champ. Leader of a heel stable, but is cool enough that everyone likes him. Also he got into a feud with another heel stable that everyone hates more, so he's kind of a face. He is rich and money falls from the ceiling when he comes out.

Okada's friend - I don't know his name, but this is basically Okada's manager. He has a raspy voice and people cheer when he gets on the microphone. He is missing a tooth.

Minoru Suzuki - Leader of the heel stable that is fighting Okada's. He has crazy pattern buzzed into his hair. He seems like a real tough guy.

Hiroshi Tanahashi - Former IWGP Heavyweight Champ. Seems like a pretty major babyface, although he got some boos when he employed some heel tactics in his last match with Okada. Overall though he seems like a pretty friendly guy when he is not suplexing you on your head.

Shinsuke Nakamura - Current IWGP Intercontinental Champ. This guy is weird. He has a strange posture, strange mannerisms, strange way of speaking, and he has this weird rubber legs thing that he does. He's kind of like an ASW fighting game character brought to life. He likes to hit people with his knees. Crowd loves him. I think he is a member of Okada's stable.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. - Son of the late Davey Boy Smith, aka British Bulldog. This guy ordered "Heels for Dummies" off of Amazon and memorized every last word. Threatening to hit fans, insulting them, flipping them off, refusing to shake hands, excessive taunting, cheating to win, it's all there. In his last match against Nakamura, he put him in a rear chin lock and then grabbed Nakamura's hand and hit it against the mat then tried to pretend Nakamura tapped out.

I'm looking forward to becoming more familiar with the roster, as the few guys I've seen have been pretty great so far.

So I'm playing DCU online and my gamepad decides to freak the fuck out. I have a PS3 controller that I can use with Motion Joy, but it isn't recognized by the game.
