Now it's official! After years of back-and-forth negotiations, the wait is finally over! Undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather and 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao have both put pen to paper to finalize their long-awaited showdown. As expected, the bout will take place on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

While details of all the terms have yet to be revealed, we do know that the bout will be contested at the welterweight limit of 147 pounds with the use of 8 oz. gloves. Furthermore, as has been the case for Mayweather's last seven fights, random blood and urine testing will be conducted by the United States Anti-Doping Agency [USADA].

Let's get the obvious out of the way: This is huge. One of the most anticipated fights in the history of boxing is finally going to happen, it's going to make huge bank, and it will easily be the most hype boxing has generated in ages.

And yet...could you imagine if they had decided to do this fight BEFORE Pac's back-to-back losses to Bradley and Marquez? The money that Bob Arum wasted on delaying this fight from occurring is almost as unfathomable as the amount of money it will STILL make in 2015.

Floyd will dance and outpunch him when he chooses his moments, like he does to every fighter. And Pac will lose a decision, as every fighter that came before him did. Pac isn't as fast as he used to be in foot or hand speed, and 2.5 months won't get him into mid-20's shape again.

It's already over, but at least he'll be well compensated.

You shouldn't expect either to phone this one in. Mayweather is about his legacy and knows he has to outbox Pac (which he can do). Pac is about being the one guy to beat the "best." Both are gonna train like hell and put on a show (the result of which will be a controversial decision for Mayweather and a rematch which will also be a decision for Mayweather).
