the movie made a good point about the food available to kids in lunch rooms.. i.e. most school have mcdonalds and crap like that. they get them when they are young. :(

If super size me didn't come out her diet would have failed because they would have NEVER added "healthy" foods to the menu.

Exactly. I am sick of the food Nazi's telling me where and what I should eat. I can go into any grocery store and get food that is just as bad or worse than the worst at McDonalds, are we going to bash all grocery stores here too?

A couple of years ago, I went on a diet, and do you know where I ate lunch almost every day during the summer? McDonalds. But I just ate their burger that didn't have cheese, no mayo. Had an Iced tea with it. I lost 40 pounds over that summer. For me, I can't eat french fries, potato chips, etc. all the time because they have alot of fat, which means CALORIES. I love Pizza, but I can scarf down 1500 calories in pizza in one sitting if I don't watch it. But, I can go to Wendy's and have a chilli and a salad, and be fine. I just can't order the large frosty to go with it. I used to go to Tim Horton's all the time, good soups and sandwiches, you can eat real healthy there. But the also sell those EVIL donuts, and MUFFINS. Let's burn down Tim Horton's!!

Geez, again, its not complicated, fewer calores IN compared to what you burn, GOOD. More calories IN compared to what you burn, BAD. Eat food with tons of fat, BAD. Eat a balanced diet, GOOD.
 
Yeah this was very stupid...primarily because a lot of the "healthier" choices were added in response to SSM, and the general trend at the time period. Of course if you just eat the burger and salads and fruits instead of the massive french fry side orders and the HUGE sodas and the cookies/ice cream/apple pie stuff, you'd be better off. Duh. The point is McDonald's BREAD AND BUTTER is NOT salads and lil apple slices and whatnot...it's there CHEESY FATTY BURGERS, THEIR FRIES, AND THEIR SODAS...that's what those "Extra value meals" consist of. That's what the kid's meals with the awesome toys consist of. And back when they had those mascot puppets, I never saw a "Sally McSalad" along side the Hamburgler and that french fry chick.

Anywho, while other options existed to an extent, they were never marketed the same or as widely available as the core crappy food, not until now. Sure you could order a box of corn flakes for breakfast, or a Bran muffin...but did you ever see a coupon for it in your Sunday paper? No, it was always something like "$1 off if you buy 2 McGreasy Sausage&Egg McMuffins"

Just because you can find a Bible in the nightstand of some off-ramp Motel, doesn't make it a religious institution.

yeah no shit i wanna see someone actually EAT some mc griddles all the time and lose that much weight just doing their normal thing. The real point of supersize me wasnt so much an attack on mc donalds the most damaging part of the movie was more on the lobbying these food companies do to keep shit food in our public schools and grocery stores that shit was appauling.
