Maybe they dont want to buy another baseball game because of Wii Sports Baseball.Moor Angol said:But considering Pawapuro 15 sales (which is priced 1000yen less than PS2 version), seems like people bought Wii basically for Sports, Play and Fit :'(

I dont know how much or how little Wario Land Shake has been adverticed, but according to Vinnk (check page 3 in this thread) it has been adverticed fairly frequently. Gametrailers.com also has some movie clips of some TV spots for Wario Land Shake, i guess that these was/is being showed on TV in Japan, but i dont know how often though.Mithos Yggdrasill said:It is 100% Nintendo's fault to not have commercialised the game in a decent way.

True. I'm pretty skeptical it will move well at $49.99 in the US.Segata Sanshiro said:They're charging too damn much, as usual. Wario Land would have been a hard sell at half the price, at full price it was sent to die, even with the heavy marketing behind it.
Oh look, there's another commercial for it. Seriously, 5800 yen?
Vilix said:I'm still amazed at how well the DS is selling considering it hasn't had a price reduction or new color in some time now.
Moor-Angol said:Uhm... i feel Pawapuro userbase has shifted to DS and PSP, both games sold more than 200k.
On the other side, i'm disappointed to see PS2 - Wii tie ratio is still 3:1, more or less the same ratio from last year, but with same price...
Probably Mario Baseball sales effected Pawapuro, and i don't think releasing it one month before Konami's title was a smart move from Nintendo...
There's a small chance they misled you to get you into bed.Bizzyb said:I guess now AC will have to be Nintendo's Holiday Savior.

Even still I can't believe that's all Nintendo has left for Wii in 08. What happened to their "no more droughts" Promise?
At least Fatal Frame is sort of an expected bomba, in comparison to Wario Land. Based on the GCN and DS numbers, everyone should have expected quite a bit more.schuelma said:Horrible sales.
Pawapro 15 Wii sales are just a huge disappointment- another full year on the market, a price reduction, and its still going to sell less than last year.
Can't wait for the Fatal Frame bomba next week.
Game Date 1st Week 2nd Week LTD
Fatal Frame 1 2001-12-13 21,770 21,770
Fatal Frame 2 2003-11-27 42,006 8,932 50,938
Fatal Frame 3 2005-07-25 46,671 7,396 69,147
Honestly I think DQVI remake is a far better indicator for DQIX's potential opening week than DQIV and V DS since that hasn't been remade once (putting it on fair grounds with DQV PS2 and DQIV PS1). DQV DS beating DQIV DS numbers alone is impressive and no other DQ portable remakes have done nearly as well as the ones on DS.Unison said:Question... What do you all think that these 1st week numbers for the DQV remake mean for the eventual first week numbers of DQIX? They're not a bomb at all, but they're considerably lower than the PS2 remake (which makes some sense, as it's the 2nd remake of DQV, but DQIV's remake did fine on DS compared to the PS2 version).
I think it means DQVIII's record opening week #s are pretty safe. I'd expect it to open more in the ballpark of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. I guess time will tell though.

This is something I talk about more frequently in the NPD threads, but I think "average ownership" comes into play. PSP's tie ratio was a pretty slow grower earlier on in that chart, and with PSP sales having a big boost since last September the average time a person has owned a PSP hasn't grown as much in that time. I actually have columns for this in my original DS/PSP spreadsheet, let me make an image to go along with yours...Rock_Man said:I'm a little bit surprised that the PSP tie ratio has actually went down since the PSP slim launch. Even MHP2G didn't manage to get it back to the previous level. A decreasing tie ratio over a long period is quite unusual.

Call me crazy, but the Xbox 360 is actually trending better than it has, as it's selling without the aid of a particular game:

People didn't buy the Wii home console to play a fucken Wario game. The Wario character is an embarrassing spin-off, like it or not, whose quirky style should be constrained to the limited handheld system, unless we're now all under the opinion that a Tingle game on the Wii will sell as much as the DS version, as well.
Leave the home consoles to the big dogs, new epic IPs, etc.

Here's a multi-year view. As usual with these 52 week comparisons, it does mess things up slightly when the rare 53rd week gets ignored, but hey.Spiegel said:Joshua, can you do a psp year over year graph like Panther does with Wii/Ps3 please?
