I never claimed otherwise.Actually, Sony developed many successful games on PS2: Gran Turismo, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Singstar, EyeToy, God of War.

There was a turnaround for Nintendo, they went from Super Mario Bros in 1985 (6.8M) to Super Mario Sunshine in 2002 (0.8M) and bounced back to historic highs with New Super Mario Bros. There must be a way for Sony to make their franchises appealing again.
Well crash was much closer in terms of gameplay and aesthetic to the traditional platformers that Japan might enjoy. One can't really disagree that after ND lost the franchise it went to shit.Crash is one of the few western games to have had a success story in Japan. Even COD and GTA didn't reach those numbers there. I'm not sure it's because of ND either, Jak and Uncharted never reached anywhere close to Crash's numbers.
And some people say SCEJ is not garbage. Hah. Out of curiosity, what is the number for HSG5 with all of its re-releases now? And what is the number for Demon's Souls + its re-releases.
Well the good news is, out of the Top10 titles for Vita, four of them are SCE titles!!!Loooooool.
Perspective is important. Even in the GC generation where things were horrible for Nintendo, the Top10 GC software titles (which coincidentally are all the >500k titles there are lol) were ALL Nintendo titles. Smash Brothers DX sold over a million, Mario Party 4 sold 900k, Mario Kart DD sold over 800k, Sunshine and Wind Waker both sold over 750k, Mario Party 5 and Pokemon Colosseum both sold over 650k, Animal Crossing+ did over 600k, Mario Party 6 and Pikmin did over 500k.
That's 6 IPs over 500k. Even as a failure, the GC showed that Nintendo has a range of titles which can sell well.

HD development happened.
Polyphony made 2 full GT games in PS2 era now they did only one
Team Ico made 2 games for PS2 now 0
ClapHanz output also is lower.

Yes...The numbers are an hour away. Is there some timezone switch over in the west?
Aha, the clocks changed hereThe numbers are an hour away. Is there some timezone switch over in the west?

UK. And I'm at the doctors in an hours, I won't see them numbers for a few hours;(Ah shit... you're in France too ? I thought it was time for the numbers, but I forgot we added 1 hour...

Daylight savings or any of that shit doesn't exist in Asia. It always confuses me when it happens in Europe and America when talking to friends.
Poor excuse imo. If you look at the successful Japanese franchises Sony had on the PS1, the majority of them don't require strong hardware. Sony just shifted further and further away from that, which meant that they got less and less titles and the remaining titles started to sell less and less. It's not a HD development problem since that was already happening on the PS2. It is a management problem which got worse with which generation.
Team Ico doesn't even factor into this, the two games they made didn't even sell enough to be part of the discussion here, lol.
This hour thing is bullshit. Why does it exist ?!
Yeah. The worst thing is that this gen they had one platform with a huge userbase where plenty of third parties have found success (psp) and they didn't or couldn't take advantage of it.
I know! I just had the quickest shower ever racing back to refresh this pageCancel your appointment, this shit is serious.

Lol, I might need to after with the impending Game & Wario fail! You get showered before the number reveal? You do take it seriously.
*high five*
Daylight savings ruining my lunch break.
And finally, let's look at SCE's >500k performance on the PS3:
Gran Turismo 5 (600k)
If we count the budget release of Minna no Golf 5, it would also count, but for the previous lists I just posted budget releases weren't added. I'll add it anyway to make it look better.
So basically...
Sony in PS1 = 12 titles over 500k, 3 titles over a million, half dozen different IPs in that mix.
Sony in PS2 = 7 titles over 500k, 3 titles over a million, 3 different IPs in that mix.
Sony in PS3 = 2 titles over 500k, no million sellers, 2 different IPs worth >500k.
Decline, decline, decline, decline.
Dude, daylight savings time was 2-3 weeks ago. Alteast it was for the east and central coast of USA...
For us Yurop folk it happend last saturday/sundayDude, daylight savings time was 2-3 weeks ago. Atleast it was for the east coast and central area of USA...
where do you get the ps1 numbers from? I can't find them anywhere. Sony really let itself go in Japan. Ratchet and Clank had a severe decline form 270k in average to 40k. Crash was a big hit in Japan but now it does not belong to Sony anymore. I have confidence that GT will go back to being a million seller if the PS4 does well and Hot shots too. I guess the best plan for SCEJ is to create platformers (Knack is a start) and JRPG's if they want to be seen as a publisher in Japan.
Curious to see how well / not well Luigi Mansion 2 did in the second week.
It's outselling Animal Crossing (since its [LM obviously] release) the Zelda Oracles and Shaun the £$#%¥ Sheep! There have a couple of anecdotal indications that it's mostly sold out everywhere, so it should be pretty good.
We need them digital sales, Nintendo.
This site maintains a record of the best selling games for each platform and also some franchises. It's very useful for historical data. Regularly updated too. I *think* the guy uses Famitsu data. Either way, he doesn't want people posting the numbers in other places wholesale, so I just round them off.
Google translate works pretty well with GDR.Amazing if only I could read Japanese
Its crazy how some of the games sold on ps1. I mean parasite eve a million seller crazy.

I still miss Japan Game Charts though. And Shrine of Data before that. NPD even got the web archives of SOD killed a couple years back.
I almost excluded that one. =| But said whatever it was already on the preliminary list. Tomodachi Collection is the big question mark.
Since I'm here, I just found out the new Famitsu Top 30 page www.famitsu.com/biz/ranking As a new useful function, it has better sell-through indicators, now in each 20% range. You can also play "find out the PS2 and Xbox 360 sales in the graph"
Well, they released two games already for the PS3, Minna 4 and 5 (even though this was a vita port).Does anyone actually know what happened with Clap Handz and its terrible PS3 support?
Why did Sony/Clap Handz not release more Golf games or any Tennis/other sports games for the PS3?
I dont get it
Fuck, that Wii U is low if the figures are accurate. And bravo Vita!
