Switch is holding much better than I expected several weeks ago.

Oh, and nice debut for Pokkén, I guess. Not bad at all.

Wasn't expecting such a big drop for Splatoon 2, >50% attach rate this week.

In other news both MK8D and Zelda saw a bump this week and Pokken did decently. I think Pokken has a chance to pass Wii U LTD this year which are around 150K.

That 2 million unit expectation for MvC is starting to look about an order of magnitude too high...

Anyway nice Switch week, I'm curious to see if we have to wait until Odyssey week for the stock to shoot up again.

MvsC:I sold less than Ultra Street Fighter II despite being a brand new game and not the re-selling of a very old ROM at a high price point, and debut way lower than Pokken despite it being a re-release

Kinda makes sense imo. The unbundling of Splatoon 2 took effect last weekend, and before that, new Switch buyers weren't buying Splatoon 2 because they had it bundled to a much higher degree. I think that next week Splatoon 2 will have a higher attach rate because people are buying Splatoon 2 for their Switch all throughout the week rather than just on Sunday. Of course, it won't be close to 100% by any means at this stage.

I think it debuted at 73k on the Wii U
so this seems a pretty decent "hold" for a re-release

Fewer bundles means a lower attach rate, who woulda thunk it.

MvCI outsold by USF2 in Japan too is starting to be hilarious.
Looking forward to see how future Cacpcom Switch tests perform in Japan compared to their main games on other platforms. Seriously, what a disaster.

Not a bad opening for Pokkén... Not a great either. I think that in the long-run can still sell much more than the Wii U version. Switch is in its early lifecycle, and it's going to sell a lot during holidays.

Well, maybe MvC:I did need a switch version because jesus fucking christ, this game isn't looking to cross 500k let alone 2 million.

To be fair...Marvel was more expensive.

lol...okay i have nothing,

Marvel was never big in Japan i guess...but still its a relatively big game and its selling like 3rdParty titles on the Wii. These games just keep underperforming in Japan without portable versions.

I had expected the drop post-bundles - just not to this degree.

Production has ended, for now. Might resume next year, based on the wording on the official website. Super Mario Odyssey will be the main bundle for the holiday.

Seems like it. Last Sunday Splatoon 2 bundles made up a tiny percentages of Switch units (less than 10% iirc). It's likely these won't come back as Nintendo is priming the SMO bundle for this fall.

In other news both MK8D and Zelda saw a bump this week and Pokken did decently. I think Pokken has a chance to pass Wii U LTD this year which are around 150K.

It's crazy attach rate was partially due to bundling.
