Media Create Sales: Week 49, 2016 (Dec 05 - Dec 11)

Looks like Miitopia isn't going to be localized, I though it would do MUCH better considering it's a (tiny) bit like Tomodachi Life.

03./03. [3DS] Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS <ACT> (Nintendo) {2016.12.01} (¥4.700) - 117.908 / 280.088 (-27%)

Super strong second week for SMM.

First week sales doesnt mean much for this type of game.

Gematsu said:
Sega’s Yakuza 6: The Song of Life for PlayStation 4 sold 218,168 units during its first week of release in Japan, the latest Media Create sales figures reveal.

In comparison, PlayStation 3 predecessors Yakuza 5 opened at 363,717 sales, Yakuza 4 at 395,123 sales, and Yakuza 3 at 356,867 sales.
Wow.

This is a 50+ % drop from Yakuza mainline entry average of ~600k

Oof, that's really rough.

I hear China and other South East Asian countries are picking up the slack these days where Yakuza is concerned, but I don't know if it's enough to keep the series alive at this rate.

obviously not "average mainline entry of 600k."

Damn at those RGG6 numbers, ugh... how big of an impact do the other (Asian) numbers actually have again?
FFXV bomba confirmed once again, shockingly bad 2nd week there.

TLG is decent, almost 45% (iirc) down from SOTC's fw but all things considered I'd guess Sony expectations have been met?

Not true. It is in line with other FF mainline second week drops and this game had file days of tracking in its first week rather than 3 (Tuesday release instead of typical Thursday).

Word about FFXV class' will spread in its third week, and im sure we can look forward to a more reasonable drop next week.

Oh, come on. 27k. There's nowhere to go from this. Might sell a big better for the holidays, but if the interest was so low at launch, it will be dead after the holiday.

Heh, we will see about that. Still very early.

Mario Maker has got some nice legs. With such a huge 3DS base in Japan, this game may end up selling better on 3DS than it did on Wii U, despite not having online level-sharing, which I would argue was the game's most important feature.

Ouch at that FFXV drop. Near 90%. That's not good. SE is likely not very happy with that. Clearly the game is more attractive to western audiences than to the traditional JRPG Japanese crowd. They kind of needed to if they hope to reach 10 mil, though. Which would never happen in Japan nowadays.
